MasukThe silver wolf form paused as her words fell, as Lancer reverted back to his human form, his shirt torn to shreds hanging loosely between his well defined waist bulked by eight toned abs.
"..."Aliana tilted her to look at Lancer who silently stared at her back after transforming to human form. She smiled, feeling the thread bonding the two of them thinning pitifully when the attempt for a murderous attack was made.Aliana raised her brows. So she really is bonded to this guy. But... raising her head to look at Lancer who stared back at her with eyes red filled with fury after reverting back, clearly being repulsed by his own wolf, she tilted her head and asked with the corner of her lips curled up in mockery, "What? Even your wolf hates you now huh--?""Shut up-!"Lancer coldly interjected her, when he was also cut off by his phone ringtone.
His cold demeanor instantly softened as he took his phone out of his pockets then answered the call. Aliana silently stared at Lancer back who turned around and got his jacket, once again making his way outside. She leaned her back on the chair, tilting her body as she spread out her palm to lean her cheek on, biting her lower lip, she still said in the end, “Are you really going to leave just like that?” raising her brows as she asked.
Lancer stopped on his tracks, turning back to face Aliana who leisurely stared back at him.
“Are we seriously going to start arguing over this again?”
Lancer frowned, eyes lit up in suppressed anger.
Aliana chuckled, then shrugged her shoulders with a pout, standing up, she raised her head and looked over at Lancer with lowered eyes, with the corner of her lips curled up in mock, “Argue? Did you ever allow an argument between us over the years? Don’t flatter me too much.”
“You don’t want a dominant omega running your head all day long. That’s why you took a forcible liking to a recessive one, right?”
Lancer gritted his teeth, his golden eyes flickered in firece light, but Aliana only turned her back in response, about to go upstairs, when the tightly closed door creaked open slowly.
Jasper with a bouquet of flowers and a packed little cake with cute pinky ribbons wrapped around it appeared outside, smiling brightly despite the exhaustion that washed over his gentle face, then wiped it off again after seeing Lancer in the room.
Aliana let out a low secret laugh, seeing Jasper's sour face the instant he sees Lancer inside.
Lancer, seeing his cousin appear, was even more sour, the atmosphere around them depleting at a visible eye.
“What are you doing here?”
“Why are you here?”
Both men asked at the same time, growing silent as they stared at each other, but the phone hanging beside Lancer, sounded a familiar woman's voice, destroying the silence that was formed.
Aliana looked at Jasper silently at perfect time, her expression looking tired.
Lancer's gaze darkened, feeling angry as Aliana turned all of her attention on Jasper who just arrived, much so, he didn't even notice he was still on the other end of the phone call with Melanie.
“Are you here for Ana?”
Aliana asked quietly, exuding fragility that made Jasper furrow his brows while Lancer felt speechless at Aliana sudden change of mood once again.
“Yes, where is she–?” handing the bouquet of cute daisies and his packed gift, Jasper asked, taking a seat down, loosening his tie as he raised his head to look at Lancer who still stood, looking down at him, their gazes clashing with different intentions.
“What do you want from my daughter?” Lancer asked, cutting off Jasper words with a frown, his gaze darkening in defiance.
“Wanting to celebrate Ana birthday of course–” having his words cut off for the second time, a furrow made way
The three of them were silent, all having the time of their life staring at each other, when a soft, almost integrating voice, sounded from Lancer phone.
“Lancer..?” Melanie's voice echoed, deepening the silence between the three of them. “Lancer? Are you still there?” Melanie once again asked over the phone, her tone having a taint of annoyance on them. But maybe because this guy was so in love with his so-called first love that he didn’t even notice the attitude being given to him, as he was hurrying himself to appease another woman in front of his wife–no, his mate.
Its.. making her wolf heart clenching in extreme agony she barely can describe.
But..
Aliana merely raised her brows, silently cutting up a cake, putting it in a plate as she gently pushed it towards Jasper who instantly received it with a wide gratified smile.
She’s used to it.
Lancer, who was talking to Melanie on the other end of the phone call, happened to glance at this scene, narrowing his eyes down into a slit, his thoughts unknown but the grip he had on his phone tightened.
“Lena really misses you, she doesn't want to sleep if you're not there to hug her. Are you.. coming back?”
Melanie voice were very gentle and cautious in the end when she asked, the normal thing she always do to receive Lancer gentle care and love, but Lancer who always seemed hypnotized by her voice seemed to have not heard her at all, as all he can think of right now, was how his cousin acted so intimate towards his mate!
“Lancer?” Melanie's soft cautious voice once again sounded, as Lancer finally snapped out of his dazed state, giving his response.
“I'll be there, let her wait.”
Melanie paused, puzzled about the sudden coldness of Lancer's voice, but Lancer already hung up the phone call, letting the words of question on her throat had nowhere to vent.
Melanie grip on her phone tightened, vein popping out of her nape as she threw the phone across the room.
Her daughter, looking exactly the same as her, entered the room carrying a teddy bear, her cautious and timid eyes peeking out, “What’s wrong with you Mommy?”
Melanie instantly changed her expressions, distorting even further, she went to her daughter's side and held both of her arms hard. “Why does Lancer not react anymore when hearing your name!?”
Lena flinched in pain, her teddy bear falling to the ground as her back tensed, the corner of her eyes turning red, “M-mommy, it hurts.”
Melanie just tightened her grip further, eyes darkening, “You better feel it and complain to Lancer later!”
Lena pursed her lips, nodding her little head hurriedly as big drops of tears streaked down to her pale chubby cheeks.
Melanie sighed, her grip relaxing, with expression also loosening, she gently cupped her daughter's cheeks, earnestly saying, “You know that I'm doing this for your own good, right?”
A small quiet sob escaped from Lena's pouty lips but she still nodded, throwing herself to her mother's arms for a hug.
Melanie hugged her daughter, though there was no expression on her face as she gently patted her daughter's head.
“...”Silence filled the room once again as Ana stared at him, stepping back, putting another considerable distance between the two of them. The movements were too small, but quite done naturally. As if putting a distance between her and him has already become a habit that he cannot come and undo.“Why?”“Don’t you want to give them the rightful identity to have..?” Ana paused, lifting her eyes, “Don’t you want the pack to not ostracize them by being a homewrecker–?”“Ana!”Ana flinched, biting her lower lip, those dull eyes finally brightened, though were filled in hate towards him.Lancer froze, his throat tightening.“It’s getting late. You rest early.” He quietly turned his back, hurriedly leaving the room. The wooden door once again shut close. Ana took a deep breath, slowly walking towards her baby seat, staring at the transparent moonlight outside.Only after several moments did she quietly curl her whole body up, hugging her knees tightly.“..I really hate him. Why is he, my
Lancer left, thumping his foot on the ground as he walked upstairs, hoping to catch a little bit of Aliana attention downstairs. But Aliana didn’t even bother to glance his way, as she continued to chat with his cousin with those eyes shining so brightly, making his gaze darkening as green vein bulged out from his nape.If one who don’t know better were to see these guys..They will surely mistake Aliana and Jasper as the mated one instead.“...”Lancer stopped in front of his daughter bedroom door. Though—his mind went blank instantly, not knowing what he should do next.He paced back and forth outside Ana bedroom door, fidgeting while holding the gift intended for his daughter. He stopped, hand hovering just before the wooden door, hesitating for only a second remembering how Ana acted at him, knocking twice as he took a deep breath.Knock.Knock..“Ana?” he called out softly, knocking rhythmically before the wooden door.Silence.Absolute silence..Lancer forehead creases slightly,

“Whose birthday are you celebrating?”Ana silently stared at the man before her, her features similar to his also turned serious. “Whose birthday are you celebrating?”With those words repeated multiple times, Lancer frowned slightly. But he furrowed his brow even more at the mention of the formal term for him.He took a deep breath, and smiled, picking up the fallen gifts slowly one by one, “Are you mad at daddy because daddy is late for your birthday?”Lancer voice were very soft, his prepared gifts piling over on his arms.Ana turned her back, huffing quietly, but still enough for Lancer to hear, “Childish,” leaving Lancer who paused, his smile fading bit by bit as he looked at her retreating back.Aliana chuckled gently, seeing her daughter finally enter her room, slamming the door shut. Her weak pretense in front of her daughter from earlier, disappearing.Lancer slowly turned his head over at Aliana who laughed just after the kid was gone, her head tilting as the corner of her l
The dining room were filled with silence, gloom hovering above as the little girl with a birthday hat worn on her head, hung down loosely."Mom..." her childlike voice sounded, so low that it seemed barely a whisper. It was filled with so much sorrow that Aliana flinched, unease growing inside her heart.Silence...Aliana pursed her lips, uneasily rubbing the corner of the gold plates lying cold at the table, before she turned her head to look at her daughter."Yes, sweetie?" Aliana smiled, though it looks too fake if seen by someone she knows, because even if she tried her hardest best to give a truthful happy smile, her still eyes didn’t move, still the same melancholic as before. Her dark green eyes stared at her daughter in hidden sorrow as the wolf inside her whimpered, an agonized howl escaping right after, affecting her once-steady mood. Her eyelids twitched, clenching the fork in her hand, looking straight at her daughter's watery eyes.Ana, her daughter, with a birthday hat
