Dominic’s POV

Sophia had become a problem I could no longer ignore.

She was relentless. Always watching. Always waiting. Always scheming.

At first, I let it slide. I thought I could control the situation, keep her in check. I was wrong.

Sophia didn’t just want to be part of my life, she wanted to own it.

She had spent years manipulating, twisting, and forcing her way into places she didn’t belong. And when I tried to pull away, she dug in her claws deeper.

I should have never agreed to the engagement plans. It was a stupid idea from the beginning.

“What are you going to do about her boss?” Matteo asked. “She's not going to stop.”

“Anything I see fit. She's starting to become a problem,” I answered.

“Do you think she knows about Alessia?” He asked.

“Of course, she does,” I answered.

“And the new location?” Matteo asked.

“I suspect she might know. That reminds me, I checked the CCTV footage yesterday and it seemed cut,” I answered.

“You're thinking someone in the house did it,” Matteo s

Dominic's POV“You're an asshole,” Martina cursed. My head bent slightly as I watched her.“I have heard worse.”I heard her let out a breath and she hissed.“Do I need to remind you that you're in my office?” I asked. She shrugged and dropped her hands to her side. “Must you go all ogre on me. For the love of God, be nice for once.”“I am nice.”“Is it because of her?” She asked.“I don't like people butting their heads into my business. Especially my private life.”“It's not so private if you have some drama going on.”I rolled my eyes and pressed my fingers on both of my eyelids for some seconds before I sighed.“What do I have to do to get you out of my office?” I asked. I wasn't in the mood for her chit chat.“Can't you just let me talk to you?” She purred.“No,” I replied.“Hmph,” she scoffed.I went back to minding my business. She stood still for a minute then started towards the door.My hands dipped into my pocket pulling out the locket when she turned back and walked back t

Marco's POVDing. It was the 12th floor and the elevator announced the destination with the chime.I got out and entered the hotel’s corridor.Holding the key card tightly, I stopped to check the number on it.It matched with the door's number painted in gold. I slid the key into the slot. The light blinked green. The door clicked open.I walked in and a woman jerked up. She was in a mad uniform and had rubber gloves on. She was startled and her eyes widened.“Sorry,” I apologized quickly, entering the room. “I'm the new occupant of the room.”I raised the card to show my point. “You can finish what you're doing. I'll give you a moment.”She relaxed a little. “It's alright. I'm almost done.”She smiled, but it was weak. With a nod, I turned back and left the room before closing the door. Then my gaze fell to my watch. I had very few minutes before I lost my chance to find my target.I kept my head low and moved down the corridor, avoiding the four cameras. I made sure not to look susp

Alessia's POVDum-dum. Dum-dum.That was my heart racing wildly like a wild animal. What's this? No..no..no. This can't be right.I'm dreaming.I'm hallucinating.Aren't I?Those thoughts repeated in my head. It sounded so confusing. Yet all came crashing in a second. The door was probably messing with my head. But as I walked through the glass, the edge of my vision caught his reflection.I couldn't ignore it.The sound of my heartbeat increased and I thought I was getting close to the afterlife.I wasn't dead yet. It couldn't be him.My heart and mind synced at once, and called his name.Marco.M-A-R-C-O.My brother. My body continued to move, even as my brain went into slow motion. The door’s momentum had already thrust me outside, and I had nothing to stop it. The world turned and spun, and before I got a good look, I was outside in the morning air. The city noise slapped me in the face.I stopped. The glass door was turning again.I pulled my hoodie down quickly. The black baseba

Alessia's POVI turned off the television. The channels were boring. I had scrolled from one channel to another and even the cartoons didn't make me feel happy.Giving up, I sat on the bed in my night robe. The air conditioner hummed, making me glance up.You saved him. You shouldn't have. All I had was my mind judging for hours on how stupid my decision had been. I accepted my fate and groaned.I reached for my purse on the right side of my bed and opened it.My feet touched the carpet. They were also cold. I needed something warm. Without another moment to waste, I picked up the air conditioning remote and lowered the temperature. That felt way better. I returned my attention to the purse and pulled out the burner phone.I turned it on, and waited for any message to come in.Then it came. From a familiar number. Only one body was found. The second grave is empty. That didn't sit well. How could only one body be found? I had seen them die. There should have been two filled graves.Di

Dominic’s POVI stayed in my study. It was quiet and had dim lightning. I was filled with anger and paced around until I heard a beep sound. It came from my computer.I got to the table, and checked my computers then my phone on the table rang. The screen lit up.I picked it up, and answered without looking at the number.“That was fast,” Matteo’s voice said sharply.“Give me one good reason why I shouldn't kill you?” I raged.“I figured you’d be pissed,” he answered casually, but I could already hear the tension under his cool.“You let her come back,” I snapped. “You were supposed to protect her. And that includes not letting her return to Italy.”“She’s not exactly the easiest person to guard. You know that. I had to compromise.”“By compromise. You mean you let her out herself in harm's way. You know that's and you let it happen. Do you have any idea what she did?”He sighed. “Yeah, I know. But she’s tougher than you give her credit for. She can handle herself.”“The last time som

Dominic's POVI hadn't called anyone to get me out. It felt fishy, but with the chief's words, I believed something else was going on.I expected Dalton to attack soon. He was always too easy to read. I checked my watch. It was 11:47 pm.My mind drifted to Alessia, and I remembered she had been at the office.“Drive back to the company,” I said to Diego. He was the one driving. The second bodyguard sat in the passenger's seat.“On it,” he responded and drove us back to the company.I was out of the car the second it parked and walked into the company's front doors. The security was still active, though there was someone new there.I took the elevator, and when I got out, I walked to my office. The door was broken like it should be and papers were scattered on the floor. It was a mess.“Diego—” I called. “Call the repairman to have it fixed before tomorrow afternoon.”He stared at the wreckage. “The repair man?” He asked and then looked at me. “I don’t have…”I rolled my eyes. “You did
