2. Not The Party Type

“Why is it so important to go to this party?” Mila Lurkins asked her two best friends, Brenda and Brent, over the phone that Thursday afternoon.

She was never the one to party and neither was her friends, but for some reason, this party was supposed to be the best of the year. Everybody was going to be there all around Delaware. This party was going to be EPIC, but the thing is, Mila doesn’t like to party. She’s never been to a party before and neither have her friends, but because they were going to start college in a week, her friends thought it could be something fun to do before they get behind a school desk and get stuck with a shit ton of school work.

“Look, we need to go.” Brent said on the other end of the phone. “Why not? I mean, everybody is going and we need to enjoy ourselves. We don’t have to go back to school until next week.”

“That is true, Millie.” Brenda agreed. “You out of all people need to have fun as well.”

She knew her friends were right, but she just wasn’t ready to do that shit yet. Plus, she didn’t like how people got down at the parties. Doing drugs, drinking their asses off and even fucking random people. That just wasn’t something she was into, especially since she was a virgin herself, along with her friends. They made a pact when they were in middle school to always wait until they found the one person they would spend the rest of their lives with. Not to mention that they wouldn’t party because of the dangers that happened in those events.

“I’m just not into that stuff, guys.” She sighed into the phone. “We’ve never been to any of these parties and you guys just decided to go.”

“Well actually, we were invited to go.” Brent said.

“By who?” Mila asked, trying to figure out who this person was at school.

“It was a guy that we went to school with.” Brenda answered. “He was passing out flyers and Brent took one.”

“Why?”

Mila shook her head after hearing that news. She never

thought her friends would cave in like that. But, being eighteen and in college, things like this were bond to happen anyways. Sighing, she rolled her eyes, pushing her beautiful red hair, that went down the middle of her back, behind her shoulders.

“If it gets too weird for me, I’m leaving.” She told them.

“Yes, so we’ll be over there at 6:30pm to pick you up since it’s an hour drive.” Brent said with excitement in your voice.

“And dress beautiful please.” Brenda sighed. “Sweats and a plain tee won’t work this time.”

    “Fine.”

“We’ll talk later and wear a swimsuit underneath your clothes.” Brent said before him and Brenda hung up the phone.

“Why?” She asked, but the phone was silent.

She hung up and threw her Samsung Galaxy 8 on the bed before walking over to the closet. She wasn’t looking forward to this party, but she didn’t want to be in the house while her friends were enjoying themselves. They never did anything with each other. They always went to the mall to shop, they always ate out, they even did their homework together if they had the same classes. These two were her true best friends and she knew nothing would separate them. Walking over to her black wooden closet that she had bought from Jerome’s Furniture Store. Everything in her house was bought from there, including the bed, the couches and even the tables and chairs.

She pulled out an outfit for the party, a black crop top with black skinny jeans she had gotten from Forever 21. She already had an idea of the shoes she wanted to wear, which was her all-time favorite, her steel toe boots with spikes all around. She closed her closet door and bent down to look in the drawers that were connected to them.

“I can’t believe I’m going.” She mumbled to herself.

She opened the drawer and pulled out a black bra and panty set and her two piece swimming suit. Closing the door with all of the things she was going to put on this very night, she walked out of her room and headed straight to the bathroom that was done the hall from her. Before she could disperse into the bathroom, she heard a knock at the front door. Sighing, she put the clothes down on the sink and ran to go answer the door.

“Who is it?!” She asked, shouting so the person could hear her on the other side of the door.

“Bitch, you know who it is!” Brent shouted back.

“Stop being scary, Millie!” Brenda shouted as well.

Opening the door, her two best friends barged in with bags in their hands. Mila closed the door and locked it before turning her attention to her friends.

“Well, thanks for waiting for an invitation inside.” She said, walking over to them.

“Girl, boo.” Brenda said. “We do this all the time.”

“You better get used to it.” Brent said, dropping the bags on the floor.

"What happened to 6:30?" Mila asked as she turned to go back to the bathroom.

"Well, Brent and I brought you some things." Brenda said. "So, we decided to come by earlier than expected."

Mila looked down at the bags that her friends brought in. “What’s this?” She asked them.

    “Clothes for you.” Brenda said.

“I picked out my clothes, you guys; I can dress myself.”

Brent chuckled before picking the bag up off the ground and handing it to Mila.

“We’ll wait for you.” Brenda said, not hearing another word from her friend.

Mila sighed before grabbing the bag from Brent’s hand and walking back to the bathroom. She walked inside and she closed the door, getting prepared for the party.

Brenda and Brent whistled after they saw their friend come out the bathroom, sexy and ready to go to the party. She flat-ironed her hair before putting it in a high ponytail. The brown skin-tight shirt they brought to her, hugged her upper body perfectly. Her breast sat up perfectly for being 38 Ds. Her perfectly caramel skin looked nice and shiny from the lotion and baby oil mix she does everyday. The black jeans with the little slits going down the sides, hugged her curves well. Brenda walked over to her friend and checked her out up close.

“The mascara that you put on brought your eyes out.” Brenda said. “You look good girl.”

Brent got up from the couch and smiled at his two best friends. This night was their night to look good.

“Looks like you’re trying to find a man, girl.” He laughed.

“No thank you.” Mila told him.

“Anyways, let’s get out of here.” Brenda said.

Brent unlocked the door and opened before walking out first with Brenda right behind him. Mila walked out behind her friends, closing the door behind her. She turned and locked the door before running after them. She got to Brent's car and something just made her look across the street. When her eyes traveled over to the other side, Mila caught sight of a very handsome guy who was standing there, looking at her.

“Girl, get in the car and let’s go.” Brenda told her.

Mila turned her attention to the car and opened the door. When her eyes went back across the street, the guy wasn’t there. She looked around, wondering if the dude was going to come over there and talk to her, but he was nowhere in site. She wanted to see who that guy that was staring at her, but she didn’t want to keep her friends waiting. So she hopped in the car and they took off to Rehoboth Beach.

“I’m going to take the back road once we leave the party.” Brent told them. "It'll help us beat traffic."

Brent sped down the street towards the freeway. Although that was her first time, Mila was actually excited to party with her best friends. Little did she know, that day was her last time seeing them.
