Giving Up

Cladding in a satin white gown, which was beautifully complementing her tanned skin, Melanie was staring at her own reflection in the mirror.

"You're looking so beautiful, Anie,"

Melanie sighed and tossed her head to see Melissa's smiling face. Melissa had readied her for her birthday party. She had even gifted her a beautiful pendant which Melanie decided to wear for her birthday party.

"Thank you," Melanie answered, weakly smiling which didn't go unnoticed by Melissa.

"Anie, what has happened? You're not looking happy, my child,"

Melanie shook her head and remained quiet. Melissa made her look at her.

"I know my Anie has turned a big girl today but she will forever be my little Anie, who can share anything with me without any hesitancy,"

Hearing her words, Melanie just hugged her tightly.

"Rian isn't talking to me. We had a very bad fight," She said.

"What?" Melissa took out her face from her chest.

"Adrian isn't talking to you?"

Melanie nodded and answered.
