Chapter 9
Elizabeth’s POV
The day went by seemly fast. Every chance we could, Matthew and I would sneak off to be alone for a few seconds. I could never get enough of his lips. Just the thought of him filled me with arousal.
But every moment I spend with Matthew, I’m saturated with disgust in myself. I was still technically with Evan, and the thought of being an adulterous whore doesn’t sit very well with me. I had planned to talk to him this morning, but he seemingly disappeared.
It wasn’t like him to just up and disappear. To not even send me a text or anything. Every morning, he would send me a message hoping I have a great day, but not today. Something was definitely up.
The thought of him knowing about Matthew and I rang through my head the entire day. It would explain the behavior, but I didn’t want him to know until I could explain everything. If he knows already, there’s no telling what’s running through his mind right now.

Elizabeth’s POV“Matthew!?” A million thoughts were flying through my head. What was he even doing here? Did he know I was in here? Was he looking for me? My dream! The next morning, I quickly and quietly jumped out of bed. It was another sleepless night. This time thanks to Evan. He was really starting to worry me. I know Matthew coming back into the picture wasn’t ideal for him, but his behavior didn’t sit well with me. Doesn’t he realize how hard this is for me, too.
