Chapter 140: Choice

To Derrick, hell was a desolate wasteland, an endless expanse of fire and nothingness that stretched out in every direction. The sky was a roiling mass of dark clouds floating in the black space, lit by the occasional flash of lightning that illuminated the twisted landscape. In the distance, he could hear the screams of the damned, the tortured cries of those who had been condemned to an eternity of suffering. It's always been that way. As the Devil, he ruled over this realm of darkness, but it brought him no joy. This had been the same thing that he saw for almost forever, but as days went by, he felt the intensity of the punishment that was given to him. Now it is working for sure; he's suffering; he did not want to be there, but what else could he do?
