Chapter 93

Lillian.

For the first time, I prayed to God. This was beyond me now. Tyrell was giving me a very hard choice. At this point, I don't know if I should be scared or not.

" What do you want with me!" I dared ask, while trying to stall hoping a nurse would walk in.

"What do I want with you? I'm obsessed with you, Lily." He brushed a hand on my cheek.

" I'm obsessed with the way you whimper when I hurt you. The way your face crinkles when I cut across your skin with my knife. The way you stare out the window hoping to get freedom. The way you tremble when I'm around you. You grew up with me, you should be obsessed with me by now. I saved you from death. I took you in when everyone abandoned you, you should be grateful."

I stared at him in disbelief." Took me in?" I scoffed." I was no better than a prisoner. You took advantage of me when I was at my lowest." I raised my voice a little hoping that someone outside would send the distress in my voice.

He's worse than a monster. How can one take pleasure from inflicting pain on someone else?

" You're a deranged monster. Burn in hell!" I spat out at him, my emotions getting the better of me.

He placed his knife back at my throat." Curse me all you want. You'll be coming with me. Start walking, now!"

I began panicking, I can't get kidnapped again. I don't want to go through this again." Why? What use am I to you?"

He chuckled darkly." That's for me to decide."

He pulled me by my gown forcing me to get up.

The moment I placed my foot on the floor, the door swung open, and a nurse walked in.

At that moment, it was like God answered my prayers.

She switched on the lights and paused as soon as she saw me. I noticed how Tyrell visibly tensed which meant that he didn't want to get caught.

The nurse blinked at us and then looked down." I'm... I'm here to change his drip and dressing." She spoke, her voice tiny.

Tyrell swiftly tucked the knife into his jacket, while having his back to her.

I looked around, Jade looked like she had passed out. There was no visible injury on her body.

This was my chance. I got to my feet immediately and walked over to where the nurse was changing Zayden's IV drip.

I won't let Tyrell win this time.

"Can you send for someone to call Oliver for me, please?" I smiled at the nurse and then glanced at Tryell, hoping she could read my eyes.

She shifted her gaze to him immediately and then back to me."I saw Oliver on my way here, he's heading here right now."

I watched from the corner of my eyes as Tyrell clutched his fists. And then in the blink of an eye, he stalked hurriedly out of the room.

I crutched down to the floor as soon as he shut the door, breathing in a sigh of relief.

" Who was that man." The nurse asked.

My blood was still thrumming loudly in my eyes. I was so close to never seeing Zayden again.

" You know that serial killer that's been moving around town? Yeah, that was him." I phrased

At first, she seemed confused, and then her eyes widened, a gasp escaping her lips." Oh my God. How did he get in the hospital? Why was he here with you?" Her fingers were practically shaking as she held a piece of gauze.

I didn't bother hiding it, I'm accepting all the help I could get." I'm his next target."

Her face tightened in horror and she dropped the gauze to the floor." We have to tighten security."

Just as she was about to run out of the room, I held on to her scrub." Please don't leave me here alone."

She stared at me, this young lady was beyond terrified. Just as she was about to open her mouth to speak, the door burst open again.

Oliver just walked in. I let go of her scrub and she ran out.

Oliver came up to me." Are you okay? Why are you sitting on the floor, looking like that."

I look up to him, feeling extremely weak." Tyrell was here a moment ago."

His eyes widened a few centimetres."How long precisely?"

" About two minutes."

He cursed and I raised my head to look at him.

He brought out his phone and began typing something on the screen.

" What was he wearing?"

I swallowed the lump that had gathered in my throat." Black hood, black jeans and black boots."

Oliver chuckled, running a hand through his hair." Fuck! I think I bumped into him. I didn't think too much about it because he was in a hurry."

I got up to my feet." Get that bodyguard as soon as possible please." I begged.

" Stay here, I'll be back." And just like that, he left.

Jade woke up a minute later. She said she suddenly felt something cover up her nose while she was asleep and then she passed out.

Oliver called security and the hospital was locked down temporarily. No one could go in or come out. The cops arrived and surrounded the building.

They were taking a risk because, if Tyrell was still in the building he could easily take someone as hostage and from the things he had done, he wouldn't bluff if he had a knife in someone's throat.

A total of four armed men was sent by Oliver to my room. And another four to my baby girl's ward and then the search began.

All patients and their relatives were told to stay in their wards and lock the doors.

The whole building became eerily quiet. I was freaking out because even though they were officers guarding the neonatal ICU, I couldn't help but panic.

Jade, the nurse and I remained in Zayden's room with the doors locked.

We waited and waited.

My eyes were glued to the clock the entire time.

It was 11 pm and the search was still on, taking longer than expected. My guts told me Tyrell already left the building because it's either they would have caught him by now or he would have killed someone.

As soon as it clicked midnight, the lockdown was lifted but the officers remained.

In the end, they couldn't catch him, but I received an anonymous message from him. He was asking that I obediently come to him and he won't cause any trouble.

I took the message to Oliver and we reported it to the cops. Then they decided to use me as bait.

I refused at first, obviously, because I'm still not strong enough to go about the dangerous charade.

In the end, I had a deal with Tyrell. I promised to come to whatever location he would pick a month from now because that's when I'll get discharged.

And if I dare tell the cops or bring anyone with me, I'll be killed on the spot.

The only person he allowed to come with me was Zayden. He said he wanted me to watch how he would end my husband.

He was actually making a grave mistake.

Now, I was left with waiting and hoping that Zayden would wake up soon. The cops agreed to cooperate, and Zayden would be a free man during the time of the operation, but as soon as it was dealt with, Zayden would go back behind bars.

I didn't object, we will deal with one problem at a time but in the meantime, I have a score to settle with Aiden.
