“I can't agree to that.” Raffaele said firmly, staring at Viviana who was standing in front of him, totally annoyed. “We're married, there's no way I'd allow you to sleep in a different room from me.”

“Why? So we can have a wedding night? We already had that last night.” She pointed out, reminding him about the one night stand they had just the previous night.

A lot of information has been stored in their whole day, it felt like it's been days. “Besides, I did request for my freedom and you agreed. Are you going back on your words?”

“No, that's not it–”

She cut him off swiftly, flipping her hair. “Yes you are. And I've had a long day so I'd rather not deal with this right now. I do not hate you. I just want my time alone. If you don't want it, I'll order them to get me a room. I'm a Conte now too, remember?”

Raffaele couldn't help but let out a sigh. He didn't know what to say or how to deal with her. He wasn't even sure if he was going to win the argument if he decided to proceed with her request.

“My room will be our room in case Nonna comes for the night. I'll have the maids split your belongings into both room. Is that okay with you?” Raffaele asked, expecting her to say no.

She stared at him for a few seconds before shrugging. “Half isn't always better than none but I'll take it.” She replied turning to leave.

Raffaele didn't know why a smirk found its way up to his lips as he watched her walk up the stairs. She looked so fiesty and acted all feisty too.

“Would you like a bath prepared for you, Don Raffaele or attend to your meetings? Underboss Romano came in with a few files whole you were at with the Matriarch.” The butler

Raffaele’s warm smile turned icy, his expression unreadable like it always had. “You can prepare my bath once I'm done with all that.” He replied, walking towards his office.

“So you ended up getting married against to some big shot?” Sofia asked, pouring herself a drink with a shocked look on her face. “So that's why you spent the night away from home two weeks ago.”

Sofia and Viviana were seated in the VIP lounge of the club for a chat. It's been two weeks since they met and they've been meeting up with each other whenever Sofia wasn't busy with a thing or two setting up her career.

“Come on, it's not that much of a deal.” Viviana shook her head with a smile as they sat there chit chatting.

She loved the fact that Raffaele had stood with his word since all these days. He didn't restrict her freedom and let her leave the mansion however she pleased. Although he did send a guard after her to watch her secretly but she noticed.

She knew he had to be protective of her since she was the soon to be Conte family matriarch, so she just let it be. She could easily handle anything on her own but she doubted they've heard more things about her aside the fact that since she became the underboss, the Bellini family grew twice.

“Exactly, so why would father even think of marrying me out when the Bellini family’s throne doesn't have an heir now.” She thought, biting her fingernails at the thought.

She hadn't really thought about it much but now it suddenly hit her. There were times she just doesn't know what her father was thinking. Or how it was that he was able to uphold the Bellini family with some of his actions which seems perfect to others but flawed to her?

“This is a pain.” she groaned, springing up. “I shook get going. Let's get going.”

“Alright.” Sofia said, picking up her bag and they both stepped out of the VIP room, heading towards the elevator.

“...let me go.” A voice came from a distance in the hallway, catching their attention.

“What do you mean by let you go? Hannah, let me have a taste of that body of yours. You can't have something that sexy and keep it to yourself.” A man said, his eyes undressing the girl before him who was obviously irritated by him.

“What are these bunch of flies always flocking around women, again?” Viviana tutted, her heels clicking against the marble as she headed in their direction. “Hey, pig. Let her go.”

The man turned to look at her, disgust in his expression. “And who do you think you are. Just run along or I'll have you along with her. You look nothing but a pampered princess. I'm sure you'll also taste good in bed.”

“You bastard…” she was about to lunge at him, bury her kick into his skull but the blood lust she felt in the air made her halt, looking towards the nearby entrance.

To her shock, Raffaele was standing there with some of his guards and his gaze was fixed on the man who had just spoken. “He heard it.” Viviana thought with a low chuckle as he walked over to her, placing his hand on her shoulders.

“Are you fine, regina?” He asked, his gaze piercing into her, needing answers. He didn't even see her get hurt so why was he acting like this? Well, he could just do all the work for her if she acted well enough.

“He just tried to have his way with that lady and he was verbally harassing me.” Viviana pouted, hugging Raffaele tightly. “I'm scared and irritated.”

Sofia who was within earshot was stunned by her change in attitude. Even though it's been just a few week, she knew a number of things about Viviana and included the fact that she was good in martial arts.

Raffaele looked up at the man, his gaze cold and sharp, “Who do you think you are?” Raffaele asked, his tone low, filled with blood lust.

He reached down to place his hand over Viviana eyes as he pulled out his gun, aiming it right at the man.

The last thing heard was the thud of a body hitting the ground and blood all over the marble floor.

The guards shielding the other two ladies’ sight stepped away, making them see the horrible sight before them.

“Take care of the rest.”

“Yes, don.”

The underground gambling den smelled of cigar smoke and old money, humming with the sound of shuffled cards, clinking chips, and muffled curses. Viviana descended the concrete steps without hesitation, heels clicking against the cold floor. She was dressed in sleek black leather pants that hugged her curves like a second skin, paired with a crimson satin blouse tucked in just right, its buttons teasingly open near her collarbone. Her dark hair was pulled into a sleek ponytail, green eyes sharp, confident, and hungry.Heads turned as she walked through the corridor lined with heavy security. Everyone knew her name, down here. They knew she was feared, but only a few knew to what extent. She didn’t pause to speak or exchange greetings. She walked straight toward a corner table, set under a fancy chandelier. The light flickered slightly over the faces of four men seated around the green felt. Each of them had been involved in the recent deal she had set with Raffaele and the Eastern Eur

Raffaele sat behind his desk, going through a few paperwork. A knock came from the door before it was pushed open, Giovanni stepping in. “We're leaving, Don. I have my doubts about these people. This is our first deal and they're–” “Just carry it out, Giovanni. Make sure it is legit. Then we can deal with things later. I don't want the money sitting pretty.” Raffaele cut him off, staring straight at him to show he was serious. Withing questioning further, Giovanni gave a slight bow before stepping out, heading towards his men. Giovanni and his mem– Vito, Lorenzo, Matteo and Aldo– leaded into two black SUVs, armed and ready to move. The convoy made its way through the winding roads out of the Conte estate, passing vineyards, olive groves, and eventually, industrial districts, far from the usual beautiful sights. Their destination was an abandoned factory in the outskirts of Verona—a place the Eastern European dealer had chosen for the exchange. The decision hadn’t sat well with Giov

The granite beneath Viviana's feet crunched as she stepped out of the black luxury car. The huge building before her did nothing to cover her from the morning sun but a guard rushed over with an umbrella. She hadn't been to the Matriarch's building since the night they arrived and she wondered how she lived on a daily basis. Not like she was dying to know. The house was not as expansive as the one she lived in with Raffaele, but it had its own unique touch of modernity and traditionality. Viviana adjusted the leather belt cinching her waist, the buckle catching the light. Her fitted black trousers hugged her curves, paired with a silk emerald blouse tucked neatly. She had silver jewelry on her wrist and neck. Not really her usual style but at least she had to look good for an impromptu call. The doors opened before they could reach it, a maid offering a polite nod as she stepped aside. “The Matriarch is expecting you, Madam Conte.” Viviana stepped inside, shown to the dining area.

The rays of sunlight hit Viviana's room and she finally got out of bed. She had been awake for a while but didn't step out of bed. She hadn't seen Raffaele since the night he killed that man and she heard he arrived just early this morning. “Would you like me to bring your morning cup of coffee, madam?” Her attending maid asked, her head slightly bowed. Viviana paused the clothes she had got into the dressing room to start sorting, turning to look at the woman, who would be in her early fifties max, standing at the doorway. Since she arrived here, the woman had always been around her. “Didn't I tell Raffaele I needed an alone time? I don't want you flocking around me, Monica.” Viviana pointed out. “It's a direct order from the matriarch, madam. It is a rule to always have your attending maid…” “Then I'll call you when I need you, okay? You can just always stay outside the room. Thank you. I'll get my coffee myself.” Viviana said, giving her a smile as she walked past. Monica rus

The black SUV hummed softly as it smoothly rolled through the gates of the Conte estate. They've been seated in the car for what felt like hours to Viviana but she couldn't grumble. Who would have thought a few days after arriving from New York, she'll have to be on another trip. The property sprawled across acres of land, not hesitating to show the wealth of the family just from the surroundings. She couldn't see much from the car and she wasn't ready to ask, besides, she was going to be here for a while now. Raffaele hadn't spoken much since they got into the car, and Viviana wasn't particularly interested in starting a conversation either. “You'll be meeting my grandmother first.” He finally said as they pulled up in front of a massive villa. Viviana slumped in her chair with a sigh. “Do I have to?” “Of course, she is the matriarch of the Conte family which you'll be taking over soon.” He replied as the guards opened the doors for them to get off.It was already getting dark
