Viviana stepped off the plane, taking the familiar sight around her in. Italy had always been beautiful but she was either too busy training or helping her father with a thing or two to fully enjoy its beauty.

The car waiting for her, a black sleek car with golden touches which was the Bellini family's snugnature car. One might wonder why a mafia organization would announce their presence as the Bellini family does but the family didn't really give a damn. The driver nodded curtly, holding the door open for her.

The Bellini estate was just as Viviana remembered it– grand, and imposing. The sprawling villa sat atop a hill, its white walls gleaming under the Italian sun as her oricat car approached the huge gates. The place she was raised and spent most of her life in. Viviana didn't really think she could ever get enough of its beauty.

“Young madam,” the maids, guards and attendants bowed as she stepped out of the car, looking through the environment with a lazy stretch.

“Welcome home, Miss Viviana.” The head butler bowed to her, gesturing towards the main entrance. “You things would be taken in, please head straight to Don Bellini's study.”

She already expected her father to send for her immediately she got back home. He was never outside to welcome her but he was always waiting for her indoors.

Vivian's heels clicked against the marble floor as she headed towards her father's study, her mind trying to settle on what to tell her father about not finishing her internship before coming back fo Italy.

The door clicked before her as she pushed it open to step.into her father's study. Massimo Bellini was seated behind his desk busy with some paperwork. His salt and pepper hair hair was neatly combed, his sharp suit neatly tailored. She could tell he was probably going somewhere.

“Welcome home, figlia mia,” he said, pulling her into a brief embrace, his hard and stern face displaying a warm and fatherly smile.

Viviana hugged him back with excitement. He must have really missed her. “It's good to be back, Papà.”

“You seem to have changed, no distant cold look in your eyes. Did something interesting happen?” He asked his daughter, walking back to his seat as she took hers before his desk.

“Oh a lot of things happened but it all ended in me driving a bullet into someone's skull. I haven't felt alive in years.” She tutted, trying to reach the cigarette on his table but he smacked her away.

“I thought we agreed you would stop smoking.” He said with a raised browbut she took the cigarette anyway.

“Tell me that when you quit, Papà.” she snickered, lighting the cigarette with a satisfied sigh. “So, anything interesting while I was gone?”

Massimo slid a file of paper over to her, as if waiting for her question. One thing he knew about his daughter was the fact that the best decision he had made was for her to be his underboss after his past underboss went ahead to become a rat. Viviana dealt with him and ended him swiftly. And although it seemed like a harsh thing to do to his daughter, she didn't mind one bit.

“A lot more activities of these smaller gangs in her territory and the larger territory turning to us too? Not only that the smaller gangs has led to the increase in crime rate? Papà what are you doing? Are you getting old already?” She tutted, rolling her eyes at all the details there. “Just shoot them in the head one after the other. After killing a few of them, the rest would either scram or bow.”

“Yes, yes, Viviana. Your methods aren't half bad but I have decided that an alliance would be better and have reached out to the best family to go into an close alliance with us. It currently is looking like even our men aren't enough to deal with all these uprising and the larger gangs are taking advantage of that.” Massimo explained, making Viviana wonder where he even came up with that. But she wasn't about to question that right now.

“So, what's your best take?”. She asked, placing the papers back on the table to focus her attention back on the man staring at her with piercing gaze.

“I have decided to arrange your marriage to Raffaele Conte family.” He broke the news to her, waiting for her reaction and oh he got her reaction.

“Excuse me, what?”

“You'll be getting married to Raffaele Conte. The family has been against alliances since all these years and thrived solely through their legal business chain to get everything they want for their underground business. They agreed to an alliance with us and…”

“Do you think I'm interested in the details, Don Massimo? I just arrived and freaking got hit by an arranged marriage news. What time and age are we in?” She snapped, slamming her fists against the table in anger and irritation.

She wasn't just mad about the arranged marriage scenario, she was also mad because she just got rid of a relationship and now she had to what, get a news she'll be married the following day?

“Watch your time, Viviana.” He warned, glaring at her. “This is for the sake of the family and you know it. You've always done everything for the good of the family. Now, a critical time is when you should at least do that much. Who knows, you might end up liking him.”

“If you think I would get married to whoever that Raffaele Conte is, you're wrong father. I am not getting married, and you are not arranging my marriage.” She snapped.

“You don't really have a choice…”

“Oh I don't? Then you just watch me.” As she said that, she stormed out of his study angrily, making him sigh. He knew she was going to act that way if he told her the news but he just couldn't ship her off without telling her also.

Viviana mumbled in irritation as she stormed into the garage, snapping at the guards to get a car without the Bellini symbol out for her. No one dared to say no or they would have a bullet driven into their skull or heart in a second.

Massimo stood at his window, looking down at the car speeding away. Another sigh escaped his lips as he sank into his chair. She had always been rebellious and it keep getting worse and worse rhe more he does whatever she doesn't agree to.

“Are you sure we should let her go, Don? I mean, the Conte family might request a visit now that she's back.” One of his men standing in the room asked and he knew that was true but he knew she would eventually come around.

Viviana drove at high speed towards the city, tapping her fingers against the steering everything in her head clicked and clicked. It wasn't like she didn't know he would end up arranging a marriage for her if she was unable to bring home a man. She is the only heir to the Bellini throne so it was only normal to be pressured to get married now that she was old enough and again rebelled to New York.

“But to the Conte family of all places? This is just crazy…”

******

Somewhere in mansion situated in an unknown location. The piercing sound of guns been shot filled the air as a door was clicked shut.

“Don, Matriarch Conte has requested your presence.”

The sounds of the shots stopped and the towering figure standing there turned back to look at the dividual bowing.

“Tell her I'll be there.”

The underground gambling den smelled of cigar smoke and old money, humming with the sound of shuffled cards, clinking chips, and muffled curses. Viviana descended the concrete steps without hesitation, heels clicking against the cold floor. She was dressed in sleek black leather pants that hugged her curves like a second skin, paired with a crimson satin blouse tucked in just right, its buttons teasingly open near her collarbone. Her dark hair was pulled into a sleek ponytail, green eyes sharp, confident, and hungry.Heads turned as she walked through the corridor lined with heavy security. Everyone knew her name, down here. They knew she was feared, but only a few knew to what extent. She didn’t pause to speak or exchange greetings. She walked straight toward a corner table, set under a fancy chandelier. The light flickered slightly over the faces of four men seated around the green felt. Each of them had been involved in the recent deal she had set with Raffaele and the Eastern Eur

Raffaele sat behind his desk, going through a few paperwork. A knock came from the door before it was pushed open, Giovanni stepping in. “We're leaving, Don. I have my doubts about these people. This is our first deal and they're–” “Just carry it out, Giovanni. Make sure it is legit. Then we can deal with things later. I don't want the money sitting pretty.” Raffaele cut him off, staring straight at him to show he was serious. Withing questioning further, Giovanni gave a slight bow before stepping out, heading towards his men. Giovanni and his mem– Vito, Lorenzo, Matteo and Aldo– leaded into two black SUVs, armed and ready to move. The convoy made its way through the winding roads out of the Conte estate, passing vineyards, olive groves, and eventually, industrial districts, far from the usual beautiful sights. Their destination was an abandoned factory in the outskirts of Verona—a place the Eastern European dealer had chosen for the exchange. The decision hadn’t sat well with Giov

The granite beneath Viviana's feet crunched as she stepped out of the black luxury car. The huge building before her did nothing to cover her from the morning sun but a guard rushed over with an umbrella. She hadn't been to the Matriarch's building since the night they arrived and she wondered how she lived on a daily basis. Not like she was dying to know. The house was not as expansive as the one she lived in with Raffaele, but it had its own unique touch of modernity and traditionality. Viviana adjusted the leather belt cinching her waist, the buckle catching the light. Her fitted black trousers hugged her curves, paired with a silk emerald blouse tucked neatly. She had silver jewelry on her wrist and neck. Not really her usual style but at least she had to look good for an impromptu call. The doors opened before they could reach it, a maid offering a polite nod as she stepped aside. “The Matriarch is expecting you, Madam Conte.” Viviana stepped inside, shown to the dining area.

The rays of sunlight hit Viviana's room and she finally got out of bed. She had been awake for a while but didn't step out of bed. She hadn't seen Raffaele since the night he killed that man and she heard he arrived just early this morning. “Would you like me to bring your morning cup of coffee, madam?” Her attending maid asked, her head slightly bowed. Viviana paused the clothes she had got into the dressing room to start sorting, turning to look at the woman, who would be in her early fifties max, standing at the doorway. Since she arrived here, the woman had always been around her. “Didn't I tell Raffaele I needed an alone time? I don't want you flocking around me, Monica.” Viviana pointed out. “It's a direct order from the matriarch, madam. It is a rule to always have your attending maid…” “Then I'll call you when I need you, okay? You can just always stay outside the room. Thank you. I'll get my coffee myself.” Viviana said, giving her a smile as she walked past. Monica rus

“I can't agree to that.” Raffaele said firmly, staring at Viviana who was standing in front of him, totally annoyed. “We're married, there's no way I'd allow you to sleep in a different room from me.” “Why? So we can have a wedding night? We already had that last night.” She pointed out, reminding him about the one night stand they had just the previous night. A lot of information has been stored in their whole day, it felt like it's been days. “Besides, I did request for my freedom and you agreed. Are you going back on your words?” “No, that's not it–” She cut him off swiftly, flipping her hair. “Yes you are. And I've had a long day so I'd rather not deal with this right now. I do not hate you. I just want my time alone. If you don't want it, I'll order them to get me a room. I'm a Conte now too, remember?” Raffaele couldn't help but let out a sigh. He didn't know what to say or how to deal with her. He wasn't even sure if he was going to win the argument if he decided to procee

The black SUV hummed softly as it smoothly rolled through the gates of the Conte estate. They've been seated in the car for what felt like hours to Viviana but she couldn't grumble. Who would have thought a few days after arriving from New York, she'll have to be on another trip. The property sprawled across acres of land, not hesitating to show the wealth of the family just from the surroundings. She couldn't see much from the car and she wasn't ready to ask, besides, she was going to be here for a while now. Raffaele hadn't spoken much since they got into the car, and Viviana wasn't particularly interested in starting a conversation either. “You'll be meeting my grandmother first.” He finally said as they pulled up in front of a massive villa. Viviana slumped in her chair with a sigh. “Do I have to?” “Of course, she is the matriarch of the Conte family which you'll be taking over soon.” He replied as the guards opened the doors for them to get off.It was already getting dark
