Laurette POV

I packed the neatly arranged items into a cardboard box, which quickly filled up.

I said, "Boss Bryce's mind is hard to read, so we just follow orders."

"But are you willing to do this?" Sandra asked in a low voice.

I was taken aback and my smile faded.

Sandra sympathized with me, "You've been with General Bryce for five years, and I thought you two would end up together. I didn't expect him to be so heartless..."

"Be careful what you say, Sandra," I reminded her lightly.

Seeing that Sandra was still indignant, I sighed and handed her a manual, "These are some of General Bryce's habits that I usually record. You can refer to it, but don't touch his sore spots."

Sandra took it excitedly and flipped through it, but her face fell instantly, "Oh my god, General Bryce has so many bad habits. Laurette, you've had it tough these past few years."

I patted her shoulder, picked up the cardboard box, and walked out of the secretary's office, taking the elevator to the seventeenth floor.

Although NOBLE Entertainment was an independently operated subsidiary, its office was still located in the Rodriguez Group building, and Bryce had specially cleared a floor for them to work in.

I went to the personnel department to report and completed a series of procedures.

Carlson from the personnel department took me to my office.

Compared to the secretary's office, my office was much smaller, but it had everything I needed.

There was a desk, a sofa, and good lighting.

It was said that the sun could shine in from morning till night.

I was very satisfied with my new office, but the only downside was that there was no rest area.

I could only take a nap on the sofa during lunch break.

"Sister Laurette, these files are the artists we are about to sign. You will be responsible for contacting them in the future. Take a look at the information first." Carlson brought a stack of files over and placed them on my desk.

In addition to all the office supplies on my desk, there was also a shiny nameplate with the words "Artist Director Laurette" engraved on it.

"Okay, thank you for your hard work," I nodded.

Carlson felt a little embarrassed and couldn't help but take another look at me.

He used to be the chief secretary of the secretary's office.

Every time he saw me, I was always standing behind Bryce, my figure straight and calm, like a sharp sword unsheathed, making people unable to look directly at me.

But just now, he realized that I wasn't as cold and distant as he had imagined, and was actually quite polite to him.

I opened the file and immediately saw a photo of Irene.

I paused for a moment, and Carlson glanced at it and laughed.

"Irene, she's the biggest name we're currently dealing with in the company. She's the one that President Bryce personally went to negotiate with. There are rumors that they used to be lovers, and that President Bryce spent a lot of money to create NOBLE Entertainment just to welcome his beloved back to the country." My heart suddenly tightened.

"Really?" Carlson thought I didn't know, and his eyes were full of gossip.

"Laurette, you're with President Bryce every day and you don't know? It's said that President Bryce is crazy about Irene, and he's been waiting for her for all these years.

We guess that President Bryce set up NOBLE Entertainment in the Rodriguez Group building just to be closer to her, and to try to get back together with her." My face turned pale.

Yes, I was with Bryce every day, and these rumors naturally couldn't reach my ears.

After all, everyone thought I was Bryce's eyes and ears.

Even if there were rumors, they wouldn't dare to say them in front of me, for fear of letting Bryce know.

Carlson didn't notice my expression and continued, "Do you know about the Phoenix International Piano Competition held last month?

President Bryce personally went to France, and reporters caught him going to Irene's room in the middle of the night and not coming out all night. Do you think they're like dry wood and a raging fire?"

"Carlson!"

I couldn't listen anymore and suddenly interrupted him.

"You go out first, I'll finish reading the file and find you later."

"Oh, okay," Carlson saw my unhappy expression and regretted speaking so recklessly in front of me.

I was President Bryce's former chief secretary, and my heart naturally leaned towards my boss.

Wasn't he looking for trouble by gossiping about the boss in front of me?

"Laurette I was just talking nonsense, you were just listening. It's all just idle talk." Carlson explained with a strong desire to survive.

"Okay." I waved my hand, and Carlson left the office nervously.

As soon as he left, my fake calmness shattered completely.

I had no idea that the rumors about Bryce and Irene were spreading throughout the company.

Except for me, everyone in this building probably knew.

Before, I wouldn't have cared.

My marriage to Bryce was just a marriage of convenience, and with the loss of our child, our relationship should have ended.

But ever since I saw him at the piano competition last night, his focused gaze on Irene was like a thorn in my heart.

He had never looked at me with such deep and passionate eyes before.

There is no harm without comparison.

It turns out that besides his icy hatred towards me, he can also have such intense and passionate love for another woman.

All afternoon, I had been looking at documents, trying to understand the artists who would soon be under my care.

This was a completely unfamiliar field for me, and it gave me a headache.

Irene was Bryce's precious treasure, and I naturally couldn't be mistreated.

Even though I hadn't signed with them yet, I was already being treated like the queen of NOBLE Entertainment.

The other trainees could be sent to talent shows to gain experience and debut.

After dealing with these matters, and with the night completely enveloping the window, I tidied up my desk and picked up my bag to leave work.

I stood in the elevator waiting for it to arrive, and with a "ding," the CEO's exclusive elevator opened.

I looked up and met the gaze of the man standing inside the elevator.

The two of us silently locked eyes, and I didn't move.

The elevator door slowly closed in front of me.

In an instant, the elevator door bounced open again.

Bryce's eyebrows furrowed so tightly that he could have crushed a fly.

His voice was cold and heavy, "What are you doing standing there? Do I need to invite you in?"

I was silent for a moment.

Some people have such beautiful lips, but their words are so unpleasant.

I walked into the elevator and instinctively stood one step behind Bryce.

Bryce turned his head, his face turning ashen as he stared at me.

"What are you doing?"

"I didn't do anything," I looked confused.

"I used to stand here, what's wrong with that?" Bryce's jaw tightened.

I used to be his secretary and standing behind him was natural, but I wasn't anymore.

He pulled me over and pushed me back against the metal wall.

Before I could even cry out in pain, he pressed himself against me.

"You're deliberately provoking me, aren't you?" His breath was hot with anger.

"You're so unhappy about me transferring you to NOBLE Entertainment?"

Bryce stood in front of Carlson with an attitude of ruling the world, naturally not missing the joy on the young man's face. He didn't admit that he was a little jealous, arrogantly nodded his head, and then walked past him into the director's office. Seeing Laurette's smile that hadn't disappeared from the corner of her mouth, he frowned and said, "Don't laugh at others for no reason." She could put on a stern face at home, but she smiled brightly when she came out. Was he a ferocious beast that would devour people? When Laurette's saw him, her smile froze on her face. She said lightly, "Is my smile bothering you?" His original intention was that she looked too good when she smiled, and he was afraid that someone like Carlson wouldn't be able to resist her charm. If he had any other thoughts about her, it would be troublesome. But being retorted by Laurette, he couldn't come up with a response. His face was even more terrifying than a thunderstorm. "Laurett

Laurette's mind exploded with fireworks. Just as she was about to push him away, Bryce bit her lips hard. "Hiss..." Laurette sucked in a breath of cold air in pain. She glared at the culprit and was handed a bowl of medicine. "It's bitter. Take the bowl and wash it." Was he a devil? Laurette carried the bowl and walked to the kitchen, feeling annoyed. After a few steps, she suddenly realized that she had just been forcefully kissed by Bryce. She turned back to look at him. The man was wiping his hair with a towel and Swaggered into the bedroom. Laurette was speechless. She walked into the kitchen and stood by the sink, washing the bowl absentmindedly. As she washed, she drifted off into her thoughts. They had just kissed, and although his sharp tongue often spat hurtful words, his lips were surprisingly soft. Unconsciously, she stuck out her tongue and licked her lips, only to immediately furrow her brows in disgust. "It's bitter." Laurette returned

Five years ago at this time was a delicate moment, and Bryce couldn't help but think more about it. Looking at Laurette's eyes at this moment, it was as if there was a flame of expectation burning within them. Laurette pushed him, but he didn't move. There were footsteps passing by outside the door, and Laurette heard Beatrice's voice. She turned her head and remembered what Irene had said earlier about her first kiss in high school. Her heart felt sour, and she spoke with a bit of sarcasm, "Some people had their first kiss in high school while in a relationship. I wonder who was so lucky." Bryce was stunned, but a smile gradually filled his eyes. He raised his hand and pinched her chin, looking down at her sour and jealous face with increasing joy. "Laurette," Bryce suddenly called out her name. Bryce squinted her eyes and waited for him to continue. Bryce leaned in close to her ear and whispered, "The way you are now, I would think you're jealous." He said

Smith Kane sat next to them, feeling a certain atmosphere that no outsider could penetrate. He saw Bryce gazing at Laurette like a madman and covered his face with his hand. He couldn't bear to watch. Others noticed it too, and they all looked at Irene with sympathetic eyes. Irene was so angry that she almost bit her teeth off. Beatrice, who was a die-hard fan of Irene, stood up and suggested, "Drinking like this is boring. Why don't we play Truth or Dare?" Laurette raised an eyebrow. Truth or Dare, isn't that just causing trouble? After everyone had eaten, they moved to the sofa on the side and sat in a circle. After changing seats, Irene squeezed next to Bryce and looked at him with a slightly drunk expression. She said softly, "Bryce, are you okay?" Bryce nodded to indicate that he was fine. Irene said, "l'll pour you a cup of tea. Tea can relieve the effects of alcohol and make you feel better." Laurette sat on the other side of Bryce and heard this. Sh

Laurette stared at the man in front of her, and she had to admit that he was really good-looking. He had a pair of peach blossom eyes that contained autumn waves, with upturned corners, and a charming shape. His facial features were handsome and straight, and upon closer inspection, he even had a pointed chin. He usually had a strong aura, and few people dared to look directly at his face. Even Laurette only realized it today, and she shook her head to clear her mind. Bryce let go of her and stood up straight, adjusting his collar. "Get up, let's go." Laurette picked up her bag and stood up. The dinner was ruined by him, and she didn't need to stay here anymore. She followed Bryce out of the private room. The corridor was very quiet, with autumn maple leaves painted by a painter on both sides of the walls. The artistic conception was beautiful, like strolling in the autumn scenery, very romantic. Laurette followed closely behind him and noticed that he w

Irene suspected that Laurette was scheming against her, and she had evidence. "Director Laurette, even if l lose in a verbal argument, what does it matter? Bryce loves me," she said. Laurette stood up. "Our business is done here, Miss Irene can leave now, " she said. Irene was furious and stormed out of the room. Shortly after, Carlson came in with some files and saw Laurette rubbing her temples. "Director Laurette, did you have another argument with Miss Irene?" he asked. Laurette lowered her arms. "It's nothing. Give me the files," she said. Carlson handed her the files and followed her to her desk. "Director Laurette, I've arranged a dinner with the PR director of Elite's tonight at Tasty Pavilion at 7 pm, " he said. Laurette remembered that before falling ill, he had to meet with Director to change their spokesperson. Her illness had delayed the process. "Okay," she said. "Also..." Carlson reported an hour's worth of work progress. After he left, Lau
