"Take the pill!"

Bryce was wearing a shirt, revealing his eight-pack abs. He looked both wild and rogue.

He had a cigarette in his mouth and looked down at me, I had a white pill in my palm.

I got up from my desk, but my legs went weak when I stepped on the carpet.

I quickly held onto the desk before looking at the pill in the man's palm.

It was a contraceptive pill, and I knew it.

Every time after we had sex, he would prepare a pill for me to take.

He was extremely cautious, afraid that I would get pregnant again.

But he didn't know that I could never get pregnant again.

I raised my head, struggling for a moment before saying, "I just finished my period yesterday, and it's still the safe period. Can I not take the pill?"

My body was special, and I was allergic to many drugs, especially contraceptives.

Every time I took the pill, my stomach would feel uncomfortable for a long time.

At first, we got married for the sake of having a child and had been respectful to each other ever since.

However, after I had a miscarriage, Bryce began to hate me.

We had been married for five years, and he had been torturing me for five years as well.

Bryce stared at me as I finished taking my medicine, his gaze lingering on my lower abdomen for two seconds.

The darkness in his eyes deepened, "Tonight, we're going to Howard family's full moon banquet together."

My hand on the doorknob stiffened, and then I silently opened the door and left.

The Howard family was one of the four major wealthy families in the capital, and the full moon banquet was held on a grand scale.

They not only booked in the most luxurious six-star hotel in the capital, but also invited all the influential figures in the capital.

At the entrance of the hotel, I was dressed in a low-key little black dress, following Bryce as we got out of the black Maybach.

The elderst son of the Howard family, Louis Howard, and his beautiful wife, Charlotte, were standing at the entrance to greet the guests.

Several guests surrounded Charlotte, playing with the baby in her arms.

Louis spotted us at a glance and warmly greeted us, " Bryce, Laurette, you're here. Charlotte, bring Nico over to show them."

Louis was delighted and pulled Bryce's arm, his face full of excitement as a new father.

"Bryce, let me tell you, taking care of a baby is so much fun. They're so small and soft, like a boneless lump in your arms. No matter how hard my day was, seeing him at home fills my heart with joy. You and Laurette should hurry up and have one."

Bryce looked at Louis's smiling face and felt a sharp pain in his heart when he saw the pink baby in Charlotte's arms.

His face suddenly darkened.

I sensed the low pressure emanating from him and quickly handed over the gift we had prepared in advance.

"Brother Louis, sister-in-law, this is the gift we prepared for Nico,"

"You're here, that's enough. Why did you prepare a gift?" Charlotte pouted.

"Louis, look at your sister, she's being too polite." Although I had no blood relation to the Howard family, I had grown up in their household and was nursed by Louis and Tyson's mother.

The Howard brother's treated me like a sister.

Louis smiled and patted my shoulder, feeling a bit uncomfortable. "Laurette, have you lost weight? You look a bit haggard compared to the last time we met."

Bryce walked into the hotel with a sour face, and I quickly followed, carefully observing his expression and slowing down my steps.

The banquet hall was filled with guests.

Only I knew that he was nothing like a gentleman when he took of his clothes.

"Bryce, why did you just arrive?"

Mrs. Ava, dressed in jewels and finery, walked over with a critical gaze, scanning me from head to toe.

She furrowed her brows and asked, "Why are you dressed like this?" Mrs. Ava had never approved of my taste.

If I hadn't been pregnant with Bryce's child she would never have allowed a nanny's daughter to marry into the Rodriguez family.

Fortunately, they had only registered their marriage without a grand wedding ceremony, so few people knew that I was Bryce's wife.

I looked down at my dress and said, "I think It looks pretty good."

"Forget it," Mrs. Ava didn't have time to crictize my attire now.

She stared at me and said, "Did you see Nico when you came in just now?"

"Yes," I replied.

Without wasting any more words, Mrs. Ava said, "You've been married for five years. In the first year, Bryce said that you needed to take care of your health and couldn't have a child. Now it's been five years. Shouldn't you resign and go home to prepare for pregnancy?"
