Laurette POV

I followed behind Mrs. Ava into the living room and saw two large bags of brewed traditional medicine on the coffee table.

My eyebrows twitched fiercely.

I've always been afraid of taking medicine, especially traditional medicine.

Mrs. Ava pointed to the pile of medicine and said, "The traditional medicine has been divided into appropriate amounts. Take two bags with you every day, put them in your bag, heat them up in the microwave at the office for a minute, and drink them half an hour after lunch. It's not troublesome at all."

I didn't know if it was troublesome or not, but it was definitely going to be a pain in the neck.

The thought of having to deal with traditional medicine for the foreseeable future made me feel like dying.

Out of the corner of my eye, I caught sight of Bryce's leaning against the corridor, watching the commotion.

I had an idea.

"Mom, are all these medicines for me?"

"Yes, look at how skinny you are. You need to nourish your body. The land needs to be fertile for the seeds to grow healthily. Don't lose weight recently. Eat more and take care of your body. Give me a chubby grandson." Mrs Ava said.

I blushed with embarrassment at my mother-in-law's words.

But in order to drag Bryce into this mess, I still suppressed my shyness and hinted, "Mom, I'm sure the traditional medicine doctor also told you that when it comes to having a child, not only does the land need to be fertile, but the seeds also need to be good, right?"

Mrs. Ava was stunned for a moment and instinctively looked at her eldest son.

Whether it was a psychological effect or not, Bryce, with his fair skin and red lips, looked more and more like he had kidney deficiency the more she looked at him.

Had my belly been empty for four years because of my son's problem?

Bryce was scrutinized by Mrs. Ava's suspicious gaze.

He resisted the urge to roll his eyes.

His mother was really naive. She was easily fooled by me.

"I'm fine," Bryce said coolly.

Mrs. Ava gaze became somewhat subtle. "With medical advances these days, any hidden illness can be cured. You don't have to hide it. If there's a problem, treat it early, or it will only get worse."

Mrs. Ava was about to make herself depressed.

How could such a handsome young man be so useless?

She had put a big pot on Bryce's head, and his expression was nothing short of wonderful.

Even I was stunned.

I'd only hinted to Mrs. Ava that we should all take care of our health together and let Bryce taste the deliciousness of traditional medicine.

I quickly explained to Mrs. Ava, "Mom, that's not what I meant. I meant that Bryce has been working hard lately, managing such a big company, and his body can't take it. He should take care of himself too."

After speaking, I continued to hint at Mrs. Ava.

Mrs. Ava finally understood and gently patted me, "Look at you, just say you care about your husband. You gave me the wrong idea. Don't worry, I'll find an old traditional doctor tomorrow and get Bryce some medicine to help him."

Bryce, seeing the two of us cooperating so well, Mrs. Ava was very happy and went to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

After dinner, Bryce went to the study, and I went back to my room to take a shower.

After changing into my pajamas and coming out, I saw Bryce sitting on the bed looking at his phone.

Suddenly, I felt uncomfortable all over and didn't know where to put my hands and feet.

Bryce raised an eyebrow and looked at me with a silent and deep gaze, "Salome has heated up the medicine. Drink it and go to sleep."

There was indeed a strong bitter smell of traditional medicine in the air.

I frowned and looked at the white bowl on the bedside table, making the brown medicine look like poison.

I resisted the urge to pinch my nose and asked, "Can I not drink it?"

"Go tell Mom," Bryce said expressionlessly.

I bit my lip.

In fact, we both knew that no amount of medicine would help me get pregnant again, but Bryce just wanted to see me suffer.

I sat down on the bed and looked at the bowl of medicine with frustration.

"You know I can't get pregnant again. Why don't you let me tell them the truth?"

"If you don't try, how do you know you can't get pregnant?"

I turned around in surprise and met the man's cold and deep gaze.

My heart pounded rapidly.

"You...you clearly don't want it either.."

"Want what?" Bryce's lips curled up slightly.

His smile didn't reach his eyes, which were filled with intense hatred.

"Yes, I don't want it, but I won't let you off easily either. Just think about how heartbroken Tyson will be every time he sees our child. Isn't that stimulating?"

I looked at him in disbelief.

The white light above my head illuminated his face, making his handsome and profound features appear even colder and gloomier.

The hatred in his eyes made my heart ache.

He really hated me to the bone, to the point where he was willing to use this self-destructive method to retaliate against me.

"Bryce Rodriguez, don't be like this."

"Be like what?" Bryce smiled, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.

It was replaced by hatred.

"Laurette, do you dare to feel sorry for him in front of me? Do you think I'm dead?"

No, the person I felt sorry for was beside him.

I remembered how he used to be so outstanding in school, how he took over the Rodriguez Group with such confidence and vigor.

He was a world-renowned gem, but he was covered in dust in my hands.

He had become a secular man, full of darkness and hatred.

He shouldn't, and couldn't.

"It's been five years. If you still can't let it go, we can get a divorce. Why do you have to torture yourself and become so unbearable?"

I said, feeling heartbroken.

"Unbearable?"

Bryce was furious, his eyes burning with hatred.

"Laurette, do you even have the right to say those words?" My heart was pierced.

I explained in vain, "I've said it before. We didn't do anything that night. I woke up and found Tyson lying next to me."

In fact, I'd explained it many times over the past four years, but Bryce never believed me.

He had always held a grudge against me for this.

Bryce's eyes were burning with anger, and he clenched his teeth as he spoke through them, "Fine, then tell me, why do you have a hickey on your neck, and why did the child miscarry?"

I opened my mouth, but couldn't say a Word.

Even to this day, I still couldn't figure out why I had a miscarriage.

I went to the hospital for prenatal check-ups every month, my body was healthy, and the baby was healthy too, with no signs of miscarriage.

That morning, I followed Bryce out of the hotel, without being bumped into or falling, but the baby was gone just like that.

"You shameless woman, you used your pregnancy to force me to marry you back then. Fine, for the sake of the child, I made you Mrs. Rodriguez. As long as you gave birth to a healthy child, I wouldn't mind being a respectful husband to you. But you ruined everything."

Bryce stood in front of Carlson with an attitude of ruling the world, naturally not missing the joy on the young man's face. He didn't admit that he was a little jealous, arrogantly nodded his head, and then walked past him into the director's office. Seeing Laurette's smile that hadn't disappeared from the corner of her mouth, he frowned and said, "Don't laugh at others for no reason." She could put on a stern face at home, but she smiled brightly when she came out. Was he a ferocious beast that would devour people? When Laurette's saw him, her smile froze on her face. She said lightly, "Is my smile bothering you?" His original intention was that she looked too good when she smiled, and he was afraid that someone like Carlson wouldn't be able to resist her charm. If he had any other thoughts about her, it would be troublesome. But being retorted by Laurette, he couldn't come up with a response. His face was even more terrifying than a thunderstorm. "Laurett

Laurette's mind exploded with fireworks. Just as she was about to push him away, Bryce bit her lips hard. "Hiss..." Laurette sucked in a breath of cold air in pain. She glared at the culprit and was handed a bowl of medicine. "It's bitter. Take the bowl and wash it." Was he a devil? Laurette carried the bowl and walked to the kitchen, feeling annoyed. After a few steps, she suddenly realized that she had just been forcefully kissed by Bryce. She turned back to look at him. The man was wiping his hair with a towel and Swaggered into the bedroom. Laurette was speechless. She walked into the kitchen and stood by the sink, washing the bowl absentmindedly. As she washed, she drifted off into her thoughts. They had just kissed, and although his sharp tongue often spat hurtful words, his lips were surprisingly soft. Unconsciously, she stuck out her tongue and licked her lips, only to immediately furrow her brows in disgust. "It's bitter." Laurette returned

Five years ago at this time was a delicate moment, and Bryce couldn't help but think more about it. Looking at Laurette's eyes at this moment, it was as if there was a flame of expectation burning within them. Laurette pushed him, but he didn't move. There were footsteps passing by outside the door, and Laurette heard Beatrice's voice. She turned her head and remembered what Irene had said earlier about her first kiss in high school. Her heart felt sour, and she spoke with a bit of sarcasm, "Some people had their first kiss in high school while in a relationship. I wonder who was so lucky." Bryce was stunned, but a smile gradually filled his eyes. He raised his hand and pinched her chin, looking down at her sour and jealous face with increasing joy. "Laurette," Bryce suddenly called out her name. Bryce squinted her eyes and waited for him to continue. Bryce leaned in close to her ear and whispered, "The way you are now, I would think you're jealous." He said

Smith Kane sat next to them, feeling a certain atmosphere that no outsider could penetrate. He saw Bryce gazing at Laurette like a madman and covered his face with his hand. He couldn't bear to watch. Others noticed it too, and they all looked at Irene with sympathetic eyes. Irene was so angry that she almost bit her teeth off. Beatrice, who was a die-hard fan of Irene, stood up and suggested, "Drinking like this is boring. Why don't we play Truth or Dare?" Laurette raised an eyebrow. Truth or Dare, isn't that just causing trouble? After everyone had eaten, they moved to the sofa on the side and sat in a circle. After changing seats, Irene squeezed next to Bryce and looked at him with a slightly drunk expression. She said softly, "Bryce, are you okay?" Bryce nodded to indicate that he was fine. Irene said, "l'll pour you a cup of tea. Tea can relieve the effects of alcohol and make you feel better." Laurette sat on the other side of Bryce and heard this. Sh

Laurette stared at the man in front of her, and she had to admit that he was really good-looking. He had a pair of peach blossom eyes that contained autumn waves, with upturned corners, and a charming shape. His facial features were handsome and straight, and upon closer inspection, he even had a pointed chin. He usually had a strong aura, and few people dared to look directly at his face. Even Laurette only realized it today, and she shook her head to clear her mind. Bryce let go of her and stood up straight, adjusting his collar. "Get up, let's go." Laurette picked up her bag and stood up. The dinner was ruined by him, and she didn't need to stay here anymore. She followed Bryce out of the private room. The corridor was very quiet, with autumn maple leaves painted by a painter on both sides of the walls. The artistic conception was beautiful, like strolling in the autumn scenery, very romantic. Laurette followed closely behind him and noticed that he w

Laurette stood up. "Our business is done here, Miss Irene can leave now, " she said. Irene was furious and stormed out of the room. Shortly after, Carlson came in with some files and saw Laurette rubbing her temples. "Director Laurette, did you have another argument with Miss Irene?" he asked. Laurette lowered her arms. "It's nothing. Give me the files," she said. Carlson handed her the files and followed her to her desk. "Director Laurette, I've arranged a dinner with the PR director of Elite's tonight at Tasty Pavilion at 7 pm, " he said. Laurette remembered that before falling ill, he had to meet with Director to change their spokesperson. Her illness had delayed the process. "Okay," she said. "Also..." Carlson reported an hour's worth of work progress. After he left, Lau
