Just the target

One big opportunity Aurelio can't afford to miss, he has no idea of what has taken Erica his beloved.

But still, he loves her, or should he say the new Erica?

A side smile appeared on his face the moment Erica's hands moved to his chest.

He clenched his jaws and exhaled lowly “You know what you are doing right?, You'd make me eat you here, right now" he replied with a smirk.

Erica's eyes went wide immediately, she folded her lips in and laughed lowly.

“Dear future husband, I'm beginning to fear you" she joked and turned around to leave but Aurelio pulled her back by waist to himself.

“Honey" he whined with a pout.

“To the shooting range!" Erica exclaimed with a finger raised in the air.

“Yes ma'am lead the way" Aurelio replied and pulled away bowing his head and stretching his hands to the door.

“No, you mean…after you. I don't know how to find my way there and you know” she laughed out and hit his back

Aurelio stood back up laughing, " Let's go then” he replied and held her hand.

And then, they both walked out of the living room, heading to the shooting range.

   Aryan was still in his room when a maid stepped in with warm glass of milk.

She placed it on the table beside him and bowed her head before she left.

He was in the room with his Dad, the doctor already left like he said he would.

“You heard him son"

“And I'm sure you can let me do it.." his father said to him.

Aryan sighed and reached for the glass of milk to take a sip.

“Yes Dad, I trust you can handle him. I should have let you started it from the beginning" he replied and slowly took down the glass.

“Great, now you're on treatments, don't worry..I'll do something that will surely hurt Aurelio and his goddamn family" his Dad assured him with a smile on his face.

Aryan stared at his dad for sometime.

He doesn't know what his dad is planning, but he was suddenly having that feeling that his Dad would do so well.

“Aurelio…Bertram” his dad said lowly with a side smile.

 Erica was standing before a black door with Aurelio, one of his men around opened the door then made a low bow.

Erica walked in with Aurelio still holding her hand, she could see light reflection from the right side and then she turned to see they weren't just in a room, there was an open space steps away from her.

" Wow” she smiled and walked further.

It was like she was in a cave, a very big one.

More like she was outside except that there was a roof made of glass over them.

Very high, more like they were in a warehouse.

She could see the beautiful sky and birds flying “are we going to shoot or watch birds fly honey?" Aurelio asked her with a low laugh.

“They're beautiful" she replied instead and turned back to him.

Stepping back into the room, she looked around and saw on the wall, different guns.

There was a large table ahead of them, and on it were guns too.

Neatly arranged.

“Isn't that AK-47?“ She pointed at it

" Yup you're right” he replied with a wink.

She took slow steps to look round the room, slowly she began to smile.

She got to a table and stood before it, on it was pistols and by the left side was shotgun.

"they're beautiful though” she said and picked up a pistol turning back to Aurelio.

“Pretty heavy" she said looking down at her hand.

“Yeah, you'd get use to it for sure" he replied and gestured her to come over which she did.

“Is it loaded?" He asked her

“How am I supposed to know?" She laughed and looked back at the gun.

“Let me have it" Aurelio said and stretched out his hands, she passed it to him.

After checking it out, he nods his head and passed it back to her.

“Yes it is" he replied

“Oh..okay" 

“You ready right?" He smiled at her and cupped her cheeks.

Erica smiled as she nods her head " Yeah, let's get started” she replied

"So before you start with anything, it's gonna be your first time so you should take note of this, the sound of the gunshot could really be loud, so I suggest you Protect yourself with earplugs and safety goggles. Safety goggles will protect the eyes from flying shells, hot gasses and lead particles that are ejected” he explained and went to get her a headphone and googles 

“Remember to always stay aware of your surroundings when you're shooting a gun” he added

" Noted” she smiled and wore the headphones on. Aurelio wore the googles on her and smiled.

" I can't believe you really want to learn this” he laughed lowly and Erica chuckled

Erica was holding the gun in her hand like it was a plate. Aurelio laughed out seeing that and took it from her hand putting it into her right hand.

“Honey, you'd hold the gun in your dominant hand and steady the gun with your free hand, that is your left hand” he said to her and placed his hands on her shoulders from behind.

“Now, we face our target" he kissed her neck from behind and heard her giggle.

Erica stood straight and sighted the target far from her hanging on a wood.

“do you want to march?“ He laughed out.

" Honey!“ Erica exclaimed like a baby

" Okay, you know I was joking, so as I was saying, Face your target and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart” he said as she did

" Now, Take a step forward with your non-dominant foot to stagger your stance” he said and slowly trailed his hands on her waist.

"Honey, don't be romantic here” she laughed lowly

“Why not?" Aurelio laughed

“Always handle a gun safely, when you're not ready to shoot, let it be pointing at the floor okay?" 

“Yes daddy, noted" she replied

“Now, keep your finger outside the trigger guard, extended straight and flat on the side of the guard” he said 

" You aim now” he added as Erica slowly lifted the gun and gripped it in her right hand, using her left had to support. She was holding the gun in a firing ready position.

“Make sure your fingers clear of the slide”

“And how do I aim…” she asked him

"Align the front sight with the rear sight. Ensure that the top of the front sight post is level with the top of the rear sight, and that the rear sight appears evenly centered within the notch of the front sight” he explained

" This will ensure that the gun is level and that you'll get a good "sight picture" when aiming at the target" he replied and made a pop sound with his mouth

Erica was doing as she was told, her hands were shaking already.

“Honey, calm down" Aurelio said and slowly placed his hand on her right shoulder

“Fix the gun on Your target, that's the center…” he said lowly.

She slowly shut one of her eyes and took a deep breath.

“You can do it, aim the center and pull the trigger" Aurelio said beside her and walked away to see what she could do.

“Don't let go of the gun immediately you do so, remain where you stand, that's follow through action, it improves accuracy and reduces shot variation” he explained as she nodded her head.

" Now, pull the trigger” he stated..

Erica made sure she was aiming at the center, her fingers slowly went to the trigger and then…

A gunshot was heard.

“Just at the center!" Aurelio smiled
