Endure the Pain
Veronica POV
As Tovi and Jessie’s footsteps grew further away, I began to feel dizzy. A sharp pain in my abdomen caused me to take a sharp breath in. Nikola sensing my distress, spoke but I was not able to make out what it was.
The pain in my stomach pulsed again this time causing heat to spread outward. My boiling blood caused me to cry out. I threw myself from Nikola’s tight grasp as my body convulsed. I managed a few words with no idea if Nikola heard me. Blood on fire, pain, what’s happening may have also been asked.
