Chapter 8: The Luna Queen

Eddah POV

" Imore? Was she the new Alpha proclaimed Luna? No! It can't be! ", I shouted inside my head while looking at her entering the Palace hall with Alpha Killan. 

I immediately hid myself when I saw Imore's eyes wandering around. I don't know how to face her and Lord Killan. I bit my lower lip while trying to think what kind of seduction or magic she did just to get chosen by the Alpha King. 

My eyes grew wide when head maid Rea called me from behind. 

" Eddah, what are you doing there? Slave maids like us can't witness this kind of event unless we're summoned or serving the King and Queen. Come, follow me, the kitchen is super busy." She told me which made me scratch my head in confusion. 

I just followed her and didn't ask anything. Dinner came and Rea decided to call me. 

" Eddah, it's time to serve master Killan." She said in her plain tone. 

" Only him? How about his Luna Queen?", I asked her. 

I saw Rea take a deep breath and reply. 

" He called you to come to his chamber and I don't know what's next. Just go and maybe there's an answer to your question." Rea said coldly. 

I just didn't mind her being cold to me now instead I went to the Alpha's chamber alone. My whole body trembled as I stood outside the Alpha's room. I took a deep breath before putting my trembled hands on the doorknob and slowly twist it clockwise. As I swung the door open, I saw his bare back waering only a towel underneath. My eyes grew wide in shocked and immediately turned around when I heard him calling my name. 

" Edda right?", he asked me on my name. 

I was still facing the door as I replied. 

" Yes, My Lord. My name is Edda." I said to confirm. 

" Right. What are you doing? Do you want a death wish Omega?", he growled. 

I tightly close my eyes and open them again while slowly turned my back towards him. Now he's looking at me with his bare chest. It's my first time to see a half naked man so I could feel how my cheeks burning. 

" No, my Lord. I-- was just nervous." I said as my alibi. 

I never heard him saying a word but I can feel that he was approaching towards me. I don't know what to do since I was dealing with an Alpha King. My heart started beating so fast when he stop right in front of me so closely. 

I gasp when I felt his hands cupped my jaws while pulling my face up to meet his gaze. 

" Are you afraid of me? I never thought that someone like you still have some fear. You know exactly what I'm talking about." He firmly asked me. 

I was confused trying to figure out what he meant. I don't know what he was talking about so I decided to stay quiet. He let go of my hands and went back to his bed. He sat there and took a deep breath while looking at me. 

" What he was thinking? Am I going to die here? Why he suddenly turned cold at me? Was it because I lied about the cuts on my back?", these are the questions clouding on my head's while staring at him. 

I turned my head down and nodded my head. 

" Yes, my Lord. Someone like me feared you. You're the Alpha and I'm only just a mere Omega slave. I'm afraid that you will soon throw me in the Abby's." I slip of the tongue with what I blurted out. 

I bit my lower lip feeling nervous what he might say next. 

I heard a loud chuckle. 

" Do you really believe that I killed all female Omegas that participated in my annul game? I'm tired. Make me a tea and bring it back here." He told me with his weary voice. 

" Yes, my Lord." I instatly replied and walked outside. 

Finally, I felt relieved after leaving the Alpha's chamber but I was curious why he reacted that way. Maybe he's only teasing me with the truth that he really killed those innocent women like me. I felt bad for them but whatever it is , I need to stay alive. 

I was on my way to the kitchen when I bumped on Imore. We both look surprised and our eyes locked at one another. I can see that she was nervous and hiding something. 

" What did you do, Imore? How come---", I haven't finished what I said when she immediately pulled me inside an empty room next to the palace kitchen. 

 " Don't you ever talk about me, you slave! From now on, I am not your Alpha Damien's Luna but now Alpha Killan's Luna Queen. If you do, I'll tell him to kill you, do you understand?", she warned me with her glaring eyes. 

I wanted to tell Alpha Killan about Imore's lies but I was also afraid that she will put me in danger and my family. I decided to shut my mouth and think that it's her business's anyways. What I care is myself. I'm content now being away from my Kingdom and from my selfish father. 

" Okay. I'll keep your secret but you have to keep your words too that you won't mess with me and my family or else I'll tell the Alpha King that you're fake ", I said trying to threaten her too but she only laugh at me. 

She walked closer and stare at me from head to toe. 

" I am now your Luna Queen so I'm in control. I don't care even if you tell Alpha Killan that I'm fake. Do you think he will believe you who lied about the scar on her back? Don't you dare fight with me or else, I'll haunt your packs and your father and bring their heads to you!", those harsh words from Imore made me shivered. 

It's the first time I felt fear in my life. I felt some dark force wrapped around my body when she said those words. My eyes widened to see how her eyes turned red. 

After she left, I gasped my tight chest because of that unknown force. 

" The tea!" I muttered realizing that Alpha Killan was waiting for it.
