Astrid's eyes widened a fraction, "Carter-"

"You of all people should know just what it is you're asking me to do" He snapped and his eyes grew even darker.

"I understand what you must feel right now, Carter, but-"

"I don't think you do, mom. If you did, you wouldn't ask that of me"

"It's what your father would've wanted, Carter. You have no idea how heart broken your father was- knowing he was the reason his family was torn apart"

"Dad was not the only reason our family was torn apart" Carter said, "You played a part in it as well, mom"

Astrid's eyes widened and Paisley couldn't literally see the woman's heart shatter through her eyes.

"Carter!" Daryl yelled in defense and watched as his mother's expression crumbled.
