“Tell me everything,” Kay said as she put her elbows on the breakfast bar and rested her chin on her hands, emphasizing the word ‘everything.’
Kay, my best friend, and roommate is the most free-spirited person you will ever know. She’s got rich red hair, hazel eyes, a petite figure, and a killer smile. We met in grade school and have been best friends ever since. She’s got the behavior of a little kid and the mouth of a sailor.
I told her about the dress code and how magnificent the building is, along with how kind everyone else seemed, besides the creature that I would be working for, of course.
“He called me a whore.”
“What?!” She sat upright.
“Twice.”
“Double what?!”

I woke up early and got to the office half an hour before normal all because I was eager to find out if Emma would show up to work today or not. I sat in my office and was staring out the window that was next to the door, watching each person walk by in the hallway, not even paying attention to the beautiful employees I have, only focused on that one person that I wanted to show up.
