The full prophecy

Yana got a call from a friend that there would be a meeting with the elders of Golden moon pack and the witches by noon.

"This might be the time I have been waiting for." She said, squeezing the phone in her hand.

*

Later that noon, people were moving to and fro the building, murmuring about what the meeting would be about. Yana walked into the meeting room and took her seat opposite Jenna.

"Wow! You were also invited?" Jenna tied to upset Yana.

"I guess someone has a short memory and has forgotten that I am an elder and a witch of this pack" She scoffed and the grin on Jenna's face disappeared.

"At least not by birth. You're just a stranger here" Jenna whispered but before Yana could respond back to her, the head of the witches walked in and the people stood up to show their respect.

"You may now be seated" The old woman by the name Kayla said after she sat down.

"I suppose you all know the purpose of this meeting." Kayla started, looked at the people as they nodded affirmatively.

"The moon goodness has finally had pity on our pack and had given us the last piece of the prophecy. Yana, please have this and read out the prophecy in full" she said and handed the book to her.

"Thank you for the honor" She received the book and glared at Jenna as she moved further to read it out.

"As it is known that Alpha Kyle and his Luna, Jenna had committed the formidable and I, the Moon Goodness had cursed this pack that the wolves would be without their wolf side for the past years. Giving the prophecy to lift the curse bit by bit, this is the final phrase. A woman will on the first day of the half year, gain access to her wolf side......." She was interrupted by the murmurs that filled the air and she took it as a break.

"And she would be the Alpha so this would be a disgrace to the male of the pack and also a lesson never to test my patience. She must have a Luna who will be the male before she is crowned the Alpha and she will not be able to scent her mate so she has to chose wisely. After five years of be crowned the Alpha, if she chose her mate as the Luna, she earn her life and the curse will be lifted from the pack completely but if she chose wrongly, it's going to cost her life and the curse will be lifted from the pack completely." She pouted her mouth in a round shape as she finished reading and went back to her seat.

"That is the full prophecy. I guess we have a party to prepare for now. We don't know our Alpha yet but I want you all to prepare and whoever be it, let her be brought here for the necessary rites" Kayla said and exited the meeting room.

People were murmuring, argument ensued.

"So we have to wait for another five years for the curse to be lifted?"

"Who is this lucky person that the Moon Goodness had chosen?"

"I'm sure I'll be the one"

Yana walked out of the room but Jenna followed her immediately and stopped her.

"You should start respecting me as the new Alpha, witch!" She spat.

"Said by someone that cursed the whole pack. You're luck I'm not a wolf, I'd have killed you a long time ago" She said, gnashing her teeth as she slowly made emphasis on killing. She turned to get into the car and Jenna stopped her again.

"Yes, because I brought the curse, I'm the only one that can mend it. I'll give you some time to think it through. Come join my circle and leave that loser, Maya" She uttered and left.

Yana huffed, got into the car and drove off to Maya's house.

Knock! Knock!!

"Wait a minute. I'm coming" Maya shouted, trying to wash the soap lather from her hand.

She rushed to open the door and was shocked to see Yana, "Hey! What's up? What are you doing here?" She asked, leaning against the wooden door.

"Are you going to interrogate me or let me in?"

"My bad! Please, come in" she said and paved the way for her.

Maya went back to doing the dishes while Yana managed herself in the rugged chair.

"You should really move out of this house, babe. It's as old as the ancient of days"

"You know why I can't move out or change anything here"

"Yeah! Because of Kyle!" Yana rolled her head.

"Is that what you're here for? Here you go" She gave her a cup of coffee.

"I'm here for this" Yana said, lifting the cup of coffee and they both laughed.

Maya put on the television and sat beside her.

"The prophecy is fully out" Yana said but Maya just hummed, looking less disturbed.

"Is that all you have to say?" She sounded surprised.

"What would you have me say? We are not a part of this pack, we're strangers here, remember?" She said, turning to her and holding her hands.

"I know but Amber is a part of this pack and so is your missing daughter."

"Fine! Enough with the prep talk, what's the prophecy about?" She raised her hands go in surrender.

"A female Alpha would be chosen, she'll get a mate right and save her life. She gets the wrong mat, she dies after five years and after that, the curse will be lifted from the pack as a whole."

"Sounds interesting! So who's the female Alpha?" Her gaze still fixated in the television.

"Nobody knows yet but Jenna has been blabbing that she's the one and she even had the gut to tell me to join hands with her" She hissed at the last clause.

"It's fine. The prophecy can have its cause, all I want now is to save my life and find my daughter"

"Off course you will. I have to go now. I have some work to do in the office, I'll cone check up on you later."

Maya walked her to the door and watched her drive before going back into the house. Her phone rang and it was Amber.

"Hello, Amber. How are you doing?"

"I'm doing fine, mom. Quick one! Can I ask you a question?" She sounded so serious.

"Sure, sweetie. Why not?"

"Who were you to my mom, I mean to Jenna? How did I grow up with you and not her?"

"You know how your mom is, Amber. Losing my baby then was so hard for me and seeing the way she lusted for power, I have to take you which she agreed to. And she was my best friend then."

"So what happened?"

"Why are you asking me these questions all of a sudden? Is everything okay?"

"No, mom. I got a note too"

"What! What does it says? Do you want me to get you out of the school? I can come right now"

"Stop panicking, mom" She laughed.

"I'm fine, it's just a note and it says: I know the truth about your real identity, such a pity you don't even know who you are"

"Who could have sent such a note?"

"Can you come see me, mom? This coming visiting Saturday?"

"Sweetie, you know what is at stake here. I need to find the person threatening my life but I promise to visit soon."

"And come with a bribe for declining me"

"Sure, my baby. I'll talk to Peyton, she should be able to help you"

"Miss Peyton is evil, I can't trust her "

"No, Amber......"

"She is! She is trying to kill my mom"

"I know, she explained everything to me that day we met but the thing is that Peyton and Jenna had a bad past and they have some unfinished business to settle"

"So my mom has to die? I'm going to be an orphan soon."

"You have me, Amber"

"You're sounding so selfish, Maya. You badly want to find your child but you want me to lose my mom? Even if I hate her, I'd still wish she lives"

"I'm not being selfish but the whole thing is complicated. The three of us used to be best of friends until................."

Maya heard a knock on the door and hung up.
