Though it was late in the night, Amber could not get herself to sleep. She sat on the big bed with her legs folded against her chest and her hands gripping it tightly. When she saw the tree branches swaying outside her window, she decided to take a walk. She slowly opened her door, peeped through to see the desolated corridor. The next day was another lecture day but rather than heading to the hall, Peyton ordered them to go to the garden and she intentionally delayed them.
