Chapter 5

SALLY'S POV

After minutes of confusion, Alpha Lucas was staring into my eyes and it was making me more nervous, I wished I could ask him to stop but I couldn't, I gathered myself together and finally asked him something.

"How do you mean?" I asked my eyes widened.

"Forgive me my love", he said making my heart flutter the more. "I talk as if you knew, I wanted to come earlier, but your mom had mentioned your dad wasn't home the day I visited, she also said he would only come back today which is why I had come today", he added and I sighed deeply.

"Oh that, okay", I replied feeling relieved.

"What?" He asked and I shook my head.

Alpha Lucas hugged me passionately before leaving the house, I smiled the whole day thinking about the hug.

The whole house was filled with joy as I Sally Sanchez was engaging my beloved.

Every single member of the moonlight pack had gathered in Alpha Lucas's house for our engagement. It was more colorful than I thought, the crowd was something else.

Another strong werewolf pack also attended the engagement including the most powerful and dreaded werewolf pack, the dark pack. Every girl envied the fact that Alpha Derek, the alpha of alpha's, the alpha of the most powerful and dreaded werewolf pack was also in attendance.

The dark pack headed by alpha Derek had conquered so many other packs that crossed their lanes. They killed the most powerful members of the pack and kept their weak pack members as slaves.

Alpha Derek's pack was dreaded because of the name they had. They conquered every other supernatural being including humans that dared them, they were always at the battlefront and comes back victorious. During the reign of alpha Derek's fforefathertill this day they have held power, they have never been dethroned, and their pack held the title of the Alpha of alpha. 

Derek was in charge now, he would chop off the head of anyone at will, Yet no one can question him. I wasn't exactly enticed about his presence, I just didn't fancy him that much. Other girls were just envious for no reason.

Food was served, assorted snacks, assorted meat, the whole house was booming, everyone was smiling and grinning from ear to ear, and e house was filled with happiness.

The makeup artiste did a very good job on my face, I looked more beautiful than I always was, and I admired the beauty that stood in front of the mirror.

"Sally, you are being called upon", My mom announced as she walked into alpha Lucas's room, where I had dressed up.

"Okay Mom, I am already done", I said and followed her as we walked out of the room.

We walked into the big family hall where the engagement was being held, I sat beside Alpha Lucas smiling gracefully.

The dancers performed in front of us entertaining everyone. I was smiling beside Alpha Lucas, I couldn't wait for the day to be over so I can spend quality time with Alpha Lucas planning our wedding.

Finally, it was time for alpha Lucas and I to dance, I was shy but I had to make some moves, we stood up and walked to the stage holding each other's hands.

The dance didn't last as long as I expected, we suddenly stopped hearing the music and turned around to see what made the music stop suddenly. Everyone was shocked to see Alpha Derek standing by the speaker with blazing eyes, he had turned off the music and was charging in anger.

"What is wrong with him?" Alpha Lucas asked no one in particular.

Alpha Lucas let go of my hand and started walking towards Alpha Derek, he was also boiling and raving in anger. Everyone watched in anticipation, the whole place was so quiet that even the graveyard would be jealous.

The only thing that was heard was Alpha Lucas's legs matching aAlphaDerek's. He stood in front of Alpha Derek trying to control his anger.

"What is the meaning of this?" Alpha Lucas asked in a semi-calm voice.

"This engagement cannot hold", Alpha Derek announced in a very serious tone to the shock of everyone.

Alpha Lucas was speechless, he only scoffed and watched Alpha Derek with anticipation. 

"What is the meaning of this rubbish? Alpha Derek, what has come over you?" My dad raved as he walked towards alpha Derek in anger.

"How dare you speak to me you ordinary beta? How dare you speak when I haven't asked you to? Who asked you to open your mouth?" He raved at my dad.

"You are about to ruin my daughter's engagement and you ask me not to speak?" My dad challenged him.

Alpha Derek scoffed and turned to the crowd, "You all can leave now, the engagement has ended", alpha Derek announced.

"You go nowhere!" Alpha Lucas replied.

"I should have cut off your tongue", he said turning to alpha Lucas, then to my dad. "The both of you, especially you this ordinary beta", he added poking my dad. "But I will spare you, I will spare you for another day".

'Derek! Derek what is the meaning of all these?" Alpha Lucas asked.

"One more word from you! One more word from you!" Alpha Derek threatened as he pointed his pointer finger at Alpha Lucas, then he turned to the crowd. "I have asked you all to leave, else I would end the lives of everyone present in this room", alpha Derek threatened.

Everyone in the room stood up to leave including myself, I was about to leave through the door when I was stopped by the thundering voice of Alpha Derek.

"Sally! You go nowhere", alpha Derek's voice sounded like thunder in my ears.

I turned around immediately and stopped at the spot, I went numb, I couldn't move my legs.

"What is the meaning of this? Why did you choose to ruin my engagement?" Alpha Lucas barked.

Alpha Derek didn't give a reply he just walked in my direction smiling like a complete idiot. My mom and Alpha Lucas's parents had been quiet all through and they also didn't leave the room yet they didn't utter a word in the challenge of Alpha Derek.

They all thought he was walking out of the room, they all thought he was leaving after ruining the engagement, they all thought he was already on his way home, and they didn't know the drama was just about to start.

Everyone thought he was leaving, only I knew he was walking up to me, they watched in anticipation, they watched alpha Derek with all curiosity.

Alpha Lucas and others together stared also in anticipation, they all were completely speechless.

I also stared in anticipation, I was scared, I also wanted to know the reason he was walking towards me with a smile after ruining my engagement, I wondered why he was smiling so much.

"Sally", he called me romantically, placing his hand on my chin, I felt my heart leave my chest, everyone was shocked and speechless, the next word he said swept everyone off their feet.
