I hadn’t known who the woman embracing me was until Pierce said mother. This was the Lycan Queen holding me, crying, and apologizing to me. I have no idea why she is telling me that she is sorry, but her embrace is motherly and I am enjoying it. At first I hadn’t returned her embrace because she had taken me by surprise, but I was slightly surprised that my arms had found their own way around her returning the affection. It took a moment before she pulled away, tears still evident on her face.
“Sorry if I have scared you child, but I can see her so clearly in your face.” She softly brought her hand up and caressed my cheek. “I am terribly sorry that I did not look after you myself. When your mother died, I had heard that you were taken in by your family and naturally assumed that you would be loved and cherished.”
