Chapter Fourteen

Pierce’s Point of View

Jadenne asking me about the prisoner brought me back into reality. My heart was heavy knowing that there were a lot of unanswered questions that I needed to ask her, and I felt guilty over not being able to protect her. We didn’t talk as we gathered our clothes and redressed. If her stomach had not grumbled, I would have kept her in bed all day. It is crazy that I never really wanted a mate, but now that I have one, I can’t seem to keep my hands off of her. Once we were clothed, I grabbed her hand and led her down into the large kitchen. Felicity and Emery were both already there.

“I had all the bags carried in but Emery said that we should wait for you guys to finish before they were taken upstairs.” I watched a blush flush across Jadenne’s face at Felicity’s words.
