Jadenne’s Point of View

Waiting for Pierce felt like an eternity. Felicity tried to keep me occupied but my mind was still reeling from meeting his mother and learning that she was friends with my mother. I had known that my father had strengthen ties with the royal Lycan family and I remember them visiting once when I was young, but the way the Queen spoke was as if she and my mother were very close. I had so many questions, but I wasn’t even sure if it was appropriate for me to ask.

For so long I haven’t been able to speak about my parents. When my Uncle assumed the role of Alpha he did not want to hear about my father. People said that it was grief, but as I got older, I always thought it was jealousy. He didn’t like if soldiers mentioned my father, or even his Beta. I was beaten thoroughly if I brought my parents up, either by my Uncle or Julie. My Uncle had removed their photos, my Aunt had redecorated and arranged the house, and before long it was almost as if my parents hadn’t
