The loud thud on the huge brazen door of the council chamber woke me up in an instant, I looked up as it paved way, felt strong hands dragging me through the same chamber I one time walked into elegantly, my head was banging.

“What’s happening”??? I thought to myself as I struggled my way through the huge hands pulling me to the centre of the chamber.

Drips of blood rolled down from my head to my face, I looked on the ground and it was “my blood”!!!!

Everything flashed back in an instant and the pain on my head sharpened.

“This cannot be happening, no!!!!” I screamed inside me, sobbing.

I had remembered waking up in an unusual room with blood on the bed and a weapon, of which I have never used before or even seen. It was such a sight such that I almost threw up until the door was unlocked, two strong guards barged in, that was a great offense to enter into a room without permission, and this was Lowell’s room, they had to be punished for this single act, I was only interrupted when another figure entered the room, Reika, my maid wearing a mischievous smile;

“Take her away, she has murdered him”!! Pointing at me, Reika screamed, feigning sobs as tears rolled her left eye. That alone was a sign of pretence, but my confusion was beyond noticing anything else or even judging.

I kept shaking my head in disapproval and begging them not to believe her, but before I could make a sound, the force of an object landed on my head and it was all bizarre, the light dimmed by seconds and I went blank, I guess I fainted but the pains I feel now is much worse.

The council chamber felt like a courtroom, it felt unfamiliar in a moment, as I tried to regain consciousness, with accusing eyes boring into me from all sides.

I looked up to find a familiar face, the one that would believe me, and stop all these misunderstanding, this is my worst nightmare.

When I found his face, it wasn’t looking like the handsome and sweet face I have always adored, Karl’s face grew with anger, the rage swept through him when our eyes met.

He rose up from his seat, pacing few steps towards me, I couldn’t handle those emotions his eyes wore, I tried closing my eyelids until I heard his voice

“You,” he spat, pointing at me, his voice laced with venom, “always up to no good. I knew it from the start. I’m glad I rejected you when I had the chance.”

My heart clenched in my chest, pain and disbelief warring within me. “Karl, please,” I pleaded, my voice shaky with emotion, “You know me. You know I could never do something like this.”

But he turned away, his trust shattered beyond repair. “Lies, you keep spitting lies, but today we will end it, now enough of your lies!” he barked, his words like a slap across my face.

Yet another accusation and I couldn’t keep up with my mate pointing accusing fingers at me, I have never seen this side of him, and it broke my heart into thousand pieces that he was the first to point at me in such rage. My heart bled and I felt the pain surge through my heart, I kept shaking my head, as tears rolled down my cheeks.

He walked closer this time, his face changed almost immediately, with pity and surprise, he bent to where I knelt, and came closer to my ear;

Maybe, just maybe…..

he has realized I didn’t deserve all this and he’ll punish every one that did this to me, but my hopes was cut off almost immediately..

“Tell us, Uriel, what were you doing in Lowell’s room?” He spoke sharply but in whispers

The question hung in the air, heavy and accusatory, I couldn’t bear it any longer,  “I don’t know,” I confessed, my voice barely above a whisper. “I woke up there, and there was blood, and a weapon…”

I looked up to Reika, my maid, who I believed will stand by me and defend me bravely because she was with me all night. Reika remained silent, her head bowed in silence, that was a sign of respect for the servants who were allowed into the council chamber, but it was unlike her to keep quiet when it came to me, she always stood up for me even when other maids gossip about me, but this time she is quiet, very unusual but I didn’t want to be distracted with that which I will deal with later on.

She had been the first person to see me on the bed with Lowell’s blood and declared me a murderer;

How could that be??

I can only remember taking a milk juice she offered to help me sleep at night when I complained of having nightmares.

Does she have a hand in this??

No, not Reika, I trust her with my life, she is the most trusted maid I have.

I looked around me, the air was thick, and every glare was filled with rage, guilt, creating an atmosphere of tension.

Alpha Conri and the council members exchanged skeptical glances, their suspicion palpable. “And where is Lowell’s body?” Alpha Conri demanded, his voice cutting through the tension like a blade.

“I don’t have it!” I exclaimed, desperation creeping into my tone. “I don’t know what happened to him.”

Karl’s accusation rang out, fuelling the growing fire of condemnation. “She’s lying!” he declared, his words echoing through the chamber. “She killed Lowell and tried to cover it up!”

Tears welled up in my eyes as I looked at Karl, how my mate could have such hatred towards her, I just can’t believe it.

My heart breaking at his betrayal. “Karl, please, I beg of you, make them understand that I am innocent, tell your father, please” I begged, reaching out to him, but he recoiled as if my touch burned him.

Reika, my maid, remained silent, Did she know something? The thought pierced me like a knife, adding to the weight of injustice pressing down on me.

An Elder stood up almost swiftly, “So what was she doing in his room, if she claims she has no idea where he is”? He opened both arms to inquire from the Alpha king and rest of the elders, it was more of an additional fact rather than a question.

Alpha Conri turned to the elders of the council, their faces etched with stern disapproval, began their interrogation, but I had to do something, I can’t keep still;

“I swear! I don’t know where he is, and I never killed anyone”! I shouted at the top of my voice, I didn’t care if that was my last straw of strength, but I had to do something. I kept crying, as the tears blurred my eyes, instantly I wiped every bit of it, I had to see their faces, to make sure they believed me or else I’m doomed, no, I’ve suffered enough, this is not my end, not now!

The Alpha’s voice interrupted my spiralling thoughts, his judgment final and merciless. “Uriel, daughter of Alcide Reeds,” he intoned,

There was silence within the court, even I was, but not my heart, It kept beating so loud, I could hear them

“You are sentenced to death for the murder of Lowell.” He declared

“No!” I cried out, my voice echoing off the stone walls. “I’m innocent, I swear!”

“Please I beg of you, don’t do this to me!!”

    Morning light filtered through the heavy curtains, casting gentle golden colors over Ralph's room.I awoke to the gentle rustling of my maid, Maria, who was busy preparing me for the day. Looking up to her beautiful smile as she prepared my bath, holding on to my towel“Good morning my lady” She bowed slowly, still with a smile etched on her lips Maria is one of the few people in this palace that I would miss so much when I leave, she has the purest soul, her voice, smile, hands, all speak of her sweetness. And when Ralph noticed I was fond of her, he made her my personal maid even though I didn't pay much heed to it, but now I do. “Morning Maria, I see you are prepared for me already” I just had to give in to a quick grin“Yes yes, His highness ordered I take good care of you” she answered “Oh wow, so sweet of him huh” My smile stopped when my thoughts trailed back to his last words last night before leaving. There must be a reason why he said that but then that has to be more rea

    The moment my eyes were open, I looked around to take hold of the room I was in. “But how did i get here”I remember taking the book off its stand at the command of Sybill, a sister I hadn’t known I had. Or was it all a dream It all came flashing back to me, the voices, the fight, the powers that oozed out of me, the book!. And with that thought, my eyes fixated on the book, it had golden covers and was so big and heavy, I had to carry it with both my hands. Another thing I need to do is find a place to hide it; I need to find a way out so that no one can see or sense it. I looked around the room once more and saw a box beneath the bed. I quickly picked it up, put my hand on it, and said some spells, and it opened in a matter of seconds, allowing me to put the book inside. Since magic could do anything, I repeated some spells, and the box closed on its own, and I slid it under the bed. I will soon take it to my own chamber in the morning.Then I remembered….The King!!I turned to

  • The Fierce Return Of An Omega   Chapter Ten

    I had stood up from where I knelt, the air was thick as I slipped quietly into the path the stones created.No one would ever know something like this existed in Ralph’s chamber, or maybe they knew and just didn’t bother telling meThe moment I crossed the threshold, the heavy door behind me sealed itself with a soft thud, leaving me in a world that felt far removed from the castle.The wall before me rumbled softly, shifting just enough to reveal a narrow passageway that stretched into the darkness. I took a deep breath and took a few steps inside, touching my stomach unconsciously.The air was cooler here, thick with the scent of old stone and forgotten power. It looked like a small inner chamber itself, old books littered around, cobwebs cut across every corner in the room, it was old, it was stuffy, I took few more steps and stepped on something rather unusual A skeleton!!Screaming for help, immediately I held back my mouth as I was covered in sweat, fear gripping me as I looked

  • The Fierce Return Of An Omega   Chapter Nine

    Somewhere in the forestThis night marked the ninth moon time where the dark circle gathered, the pleading from Uriel had made them aware of her quest for freedom. As the old witches gathered around a stone altar far from the castle gates, deep in the center of a barren woodland. Dark, thick clouds spun darkly in the sky above them, as if nature itself sensed that something strong was brewing. The witches below were cast with lengthy shadows by the gnarled, twisted trees that surrounded the clearing. The branches of the trees reached upwards like thin fingers.All seated in a perfect circle, around a fire that burned with unnatural, violet flames. Each witch’s face was hidden beneath a deep hood, only their glowing eyes visible in the flickering light. Their appearances are different, some old and wrinkled, with skin like parchment, others younger, but equally as unsettling, their eyes carrying the weight of centuries. It is a time of waiting, it is a time of patience, the next moon

  • The Fierce Return Of An Omega   Chapter Eight

    Ralph’s breathing was deep and steady, his hand resting protectively on my waist, as though he could somehow guard me from whatever thoughts filled my mind. Staring at his face, brushing my lips across his jawline in a soft, lingering kiss. My heart pounded against my chest, not from desire this time, but from the weight of what I was about to do. The fear and the doubts echoing in my headWill everything work out fine? What if it doesn’t work?What if I'm caught?I hope the spell works because Ralph has always blocked me out from using my powers on him, but the Keeper had assured me that this is an ancient spell and he will be entrapped. Surely. Gently, I whispered into his ear, sweet words at first that masked the true intent behind my touch. My lips hovered near his neck, the warmth of his skin against mine almost breaking my resolve. But I had to focus. I had to do this for me, for my child.The Keeper’s words from the dream echoed in my mind, a spell that would plunge him into

  • The Fierce Return Of An Omega   Chapter Seven

    The dream started as a whisper, gradually losing brightness and building in intensity over time. The surrounding within me shifted, the smooth bed linens dissolving into mist replaced by ancient trees. I have never been here yet and I could feel it in my bones. The tall trees danced in the fast breeze, their leaves sparkling silver in the blood-red moonlight. The air smelled of burning sage and damp earth.From the shadows emerged a creature, its presence both terrifying, my body shook in fear but I couldn’t open my eyes, It was unlike anything I had ever seen, a being dressed in flowing black robes, its face a mix of animal and human faces, eyes glowing like gold, skin as glassy as though it were made from the stars themselves. The creature towered over me and as it drew near, a shiver ran down my spine. But it did not feel auspicious, It felt… ancestral, as if it were part of me, part of my lineage, it felt so real, like my own, as much as i wanted to run away from this unknown plac

    "Take me” my voice echoed in the hall. “Please, take me” Immediately I let out those words, a feeling of regret washed over my face as I turned swiftly to leave “Wait” His voice was not firm, nor commanding like it sounded in the meeting with the elders, rather it was more of softness and pleadi

    Opening my eyes to the flickers of candle that surrounded the room, everything felt soggy as I pushed myself to sit up on the bed, my head hurts. As I was dragged into the pack’s slaughter house, in chains and blood, it stenched with old blood, the floor stained with dark crimsons. • The Fierce Return Of An Omega   Chapter Three

    My mind was alive but my body couldn’t move, if I had this hope holding on tight to me, then I had to fight for a second chance. It didn’t feel surreal, I felt my legs move, then my hand followed, the sea wanted to take me deeper but I kept the struggle, I wasn’t going to give up now, I prayed for
