#Chapter 3: Fiancés and Fights

I watched a s Knight’s eyes trailed down my shirt. He’d worked three of my shirt buttons open and the top of my bandage was starting to make itself visible. His eyes lingered on it and I needed to get him distracted and fast.

I reared my hand back and punched him square in the jaw. Knight staggered backwards, hand going to the spot where I’d punched him. He looked down at me with this blank expression.

“The hell are you doing?” I hissed.

“You passed out,” Knight said softly. “I was checking to make sure you were okay.”

I shifted myself to sit up in the bed. “By looking at my chest?”

“Your injuries were severe,” Knight deadpanned.

“My heart’s fine, thanks,” I snapped.

I buttoned back up my shirt buttons and swung my legs out of the bed I was in. My head was throbbing still and my entire body felt like it was heavy with exertion. I brought my hand to my head and rubbed at it.

“I feel like I’ve been run over by a pack of wolves,” I mumbled.

“Just one,” Knight chimed in. I gave him a sideways glare and saw he was smirking again. He chuffed a half a laugh then stood up straight.

“You did good for a first-year,” he said. “Just unlucky in that you were paired with someone who’d been training since he was eight.”

I snorted. “I’ve been training since I was ten,” I said. “I should’ve held my own better.”

“I can tell,” Knight said. I jerked my head to look at him. He caught my eye. “Truly.”

“Yet, you knocked me out,” I mumbled.

“I did,” Knight said. “And so you were eliminated. And wound up ranked last of the first years.”

I groaned and slammed my second hand over my face. My head felt like it had a pulse. “No one else passed out?” I mumbled.

“Unfortunately, no,” Knight said. “This is the the best class we’ve had in years. About half of them beat the third years they were sparring against.”

Great. Just great.

“This is hopeless,” I grunted.

“Not hopeless,” Knight corrected. “There’s a second ranking competition at the end of the semester. As long as you don’t come last, you’ll be fine.”

I turned to face Knight. “And if I do come last?”

“You’ll be expelled,” Knight said, matter-of-factly.

I swallowed thickly. “Right,” I said. “So, don’t suck.”

“Don’t suck,” Knight repeated. “But I’ll help you get up to speed.”

“You will?” I jerked to sit up right. “Why?”

“Our packs are merging,” Knight crossed his arms over his chest. “What good would it do to inherit a bunch of wolves who don’t know how to fight?”

“I guess, that’s fair,” I mused.

Knight clapped his hand on my shoulder again and I winced. My body was still stiff. On top of that, the lurch of lust in my stomach started up again. I tried to shrug out of his grasp but his fingers dug into me.

“Come to lunch with me and my mates,” he said.

“I — I shouldn’t,” I stuttered, trying to come up with an excuse to get the hell away from him. “I probably have to like… set up my room or something. How long was I out?”

“Thirty minutes,” Knight said before launching into another invitation. “I insist.”

“No, really, I—“

Knight yanked me to my feet and steered me out of the infirmary. He dragged me down the hall of the old building and into a large room with high ceilings. It was filled with a bunch of other students. They seemed to be grouped by the type of Alpha they were.

Sons of Alphas all had golden yellow eyes. They were bigger and stronger looking than the rest of the student body. They were all Knight’s friends. Only two tables were filled with these types of students.

There were double the table of students with non-gold eyes. These were the other Alphas. They weren’t likely to rise to as high of a ranking as the Sons of Alphas. They were less strong than the sons. But had the blood of an Alpha in their veins.

Then, there were the non-Alpha wolves. These were wolves that attended Alpha Academy to study wolf politics and history. They were small, lanky and unsocial. There was a few scattered table filled with these wolves.

Knight steered us to his table of friends. He clapped me on the shoulder once again. The men at the table turned around to stare at me. I felt my cheeks flush with the feeling of their eyes on me.

“Lads,” Knight addressed them. “This is Ethan Blueheart. He’s Anderson Blueheart’s son and my future brother-in-law. I respect we will treat him as such.”

“Welcome,” said another Son. He had sandy blonde hair and deep, almost black-yellow eyes. “I’m Badger Highmoon. Have a seat.”

Knight shoved my shoulder and I took that as my sign to sit down. I slunk down in between two other men and found myself sitting directly across from Badger. His eyes bore into me as he tried to study me. He pointed to my left.

“Ash Light,” then he pointed to my right. “Blade Silverspear.”

“Hello,” I mumbled. Both men responded with a grunt. I slunk in on myself then turned my face back to look at Badger. He smirked then threw a potato in his mouth. He looked back down at his tray then spoke.

“So your cousin’s fit?” He said.

Blade and Ash snickered. I looked at Knight, further down the table. He was completely unfazed. I looked back up and met Badger’s eyes.

“She got good tits?” He went on.

“She’s my cousin,” I bit out. “I’m not exactly looking at her chest.”

Badger hummed before throwing another potato in his mouth. “You seen her Knight? You know if she’s got big tits?”

Knight laughed and I felt a shiver of disgust run down my spine. He couldn’t think this was funny, could he?

“Nah, mate,” he said. “But Wesley saw her. Said she’s blonde with blue eyes.”

“Blondes are fit,” Ash grunted from my left. Another shiver of disgust. “I like blondes.”

“Paws off,” Knight snapped.

“What if she’s an ugly blonde?” Badger went on. “Some blondes are fake blondes too. You know there’s potions for that stuff.”

Knight shrugged. “It’s a political marriage,” he said. “We have a duty to fulfill and that’s it. You get it right, Ethan?”

I licked my lips. “Right,”

“What about you, big guy?” Badger teased. “How are you with the women?”

“Very popular,” Blade teased. “I can tell. You have the air of a virgin about you that I’m sure women love.”

“How many ladies you bedded, bud?” Badger teased.

I’d had enough. I shoved myself away from the table and stood up. All four of the men looked at me, interested in what I’d say next.

“Probably a hundred,” I snapped. “Because unlike you, I know how to respect women and don’t talk about them behind their backs.”

Without a pause to hear them out, I stood up and left them in the dining hall.

“What a dickwad that guy is!” Sophia exclaimed as we made it back to my dorm room. Luckily for us, Knight was still missing from his bed. It gave us the entire room to scheme about how we’d make it through the night.“He’s awful,” Ethan agreed. He turned to me. “You weren’t kidding.”I scoffed. “Nope,” I said. “He’s had it out for me since day one.”“It’s odd,” Ethan mused. “The Highmoon pack is very close to the Darkmoon pack. I would’ve expected Badger to be far more inviting than he’s being.”“It’s not like Darkmoon’s been exactly inviting either,” I mumbled.“He invited himself to touch your junk,” Sophia said. Ethan gave me a pointed looked. I looked back at Sophia. She shrugged.“I filled Ethan in on the way,”“I can’t believe you made him touch your manhood,” Ethan grumbled. “Now there’s really going to be rumors about me.”“I don’t think so,” I said with a shake of my head. “Knight was pretty distressed by the whole thing as well. He apologized to me last night in the showers.

KnightHe kept his eyes facing forwards the entire time he was in the shower. Knight had already pressed his luck with Ethan and wasn’t trying to do it again. He’d felt all he needed to know about Ethan’s gender. But there was that smell again…Knight bit down hard on his tongue to keep the slight moan from escaping his lips. Lust had washed over him in an unnatural way, surging at the tips of his fingers. He felt a knot tightening in the space just below his navel..Don’t look, don’t look, he repeated in his head. The situation was becoming increasingly uncomfortable, again. The wolf within him was screaming that this was Knight’s fated mate. Yet, Knight knew that to be untrue. He didn’t think he’d be able to contain himself around Ethan at other points of the day if they were mates. So why in the shower? Why then?Knight really wanted to just chalk it up to his attraction and confusion about Ethan. Ethan was stunningly beautiful to Knight. He really still wondered if Ethan could be

RileyKnight’s hand was still on my – well, Ethan’s penis – as I finally caught my breath. We were still locked eye-to-eye and hand to … cock.Knight swallowed thickly. He gently moved his hand back from my crotch and shoved it in his back pocket. He sighed before turning around and removing his gaze from mine.I immediately was relieved and thanked the Gods above for having Ethan send me the fake penis. I’d immediately shoved it in my trousers as soon as I stopped feeling weird about it and, somehow, it had wound up saving me.His back was to me as he rubbed his jaw. He looked genuinely distressed. I sighed deeply and ran a hand through my hair.“No,” I said, softly. “No, I’m not.”“I can tell,” Knight choked out.His voice was certainly strained, though I couldn’t tell why. He rummaged through one of the drawers in his desk then turned back to me. In his hand was a beautiful, black pendant. It was much like the one he left on his nightstand every night. But this one was even more be

“Do you think I should get her something?” Knight asked me as we returned to our room.“For tomorrow?” I asked.“Yeah,” Knight nodded. “I figured it would be nice. If you want to come with me, I’d appreciate the help in knowing what she likes.”“Yeah, course” I nodded. It wasn’t like I had anything else to do. And who better to pick out gifts for me than well… me?“Alright then mate,” Knight clapped his hand on my shoulder. I fought to keep from shuddering as the electricity surged through me. Knight was unphased. “Grab your wallet and we’ll head into town.”I nodded and pushed into our room to grab my stuff. Thirty minutes later Knight and I arrived in the small town next to the school. It was quaint but had an air of aristocracy about it. The first shop Knight led me into had a bunch of flowers.Knight slowly walked through the flowers before landing on a bunch of black roses that had an accompanying box of dark chocolates. I immediately wrinkled my nose at the thought of the bitter

Knight gave me a once over before he closed the door to our room behind him and walked further in. He nodded at me once before going to his desk and dropping his bag. I was entirely confused and my heart was beating rapidly as I tried to figure out if he could sense that I was not Ethan but his future fiancé.“So how familiar are you with Alpha Blueheart’s daughter?” Knight mused, still messing about on his desk.“Alpha Blueheart doesn’t have a daughter,” I said quickly. Ethan had no sisters.“Apologies,” Knight said, standing to look at me. He wore a smirk on his lips and had a slightly raised eyebrow. “The former Alpha Blueheart.”My father.Knight was asking about me. Again.“Oh,” I said softly. “Riley? My cousin?”“Yes, your cousin,” Knight went on before rummaging through his desk. He looked over his shoulder slightly then focused back on his desk before speaking.“Apparently you look quite alike,”“Our fathers were twins,” I said.It wasn’t a lie per say, but it wasn’t the whole

I stared at the penis blankly. How was this supposed to help me!?Was I supposed to use it…for pleasure? I shuddered and dropped the thing back in the box. Ethan and I didn’t discuss those types of things much, if at all. I couldn’t figure out why he’d even think I’d want that. Then, I remembered the locker room. All of the men were walking around with members very similar to the one sitting in the box in front of me. It hit me that I was supposed to use the giant fake penis as a surrogate for the one I should have.I scrambled across my room and pulled out my potion that I had been using to masculinize myself more. I dropped a bit of it on the fake penis and watched as the member turned incredibly lifelike. I gasped and slammed the top of the box shut, scared of what I was seeing.“Ethan, you smart man,” I breathed to myself.A while later, I walked into the dining hall for breakfast. It seemed as though my attack on Knight had spread across the school like wildfire. All of the Alpha
