I tried to fight the truth but it kept looking me in the face every single time. The only thing that made me feel some sort of relief was the fact that this young man that I had paid had not ended the call on me. I knew I could not be alone at a time like this, I didnt even want to be alone at a time like this and all that truly mattered to me was finding a way to get rid of this damning feeling in my soul.

Deep down, I knew that Blake was saying nothing else but the truth but it would seem like the only reason I struggled to believe it was that his opinions made it seem like Raye was back for some sort of revenge, and I could not see her in that light

I had feelingv that were running deep for this particular woman and I could not see her as anything but another individual who loved me. But I guess that is what he said Amara felt for me.

But if Amara was truly Raye, then why did she come back? What was her goal. For a moment, it felt very stupid for me to even think about what she c

Liam needed to connect with nature. It was the only thing that could keep him sane especially when his aunt was absent. He drove with his windows down, allowing the breeze to blow away his pain and anger. He wanted to run away, wanted to be by himself or at least be with someone who understood him but he couldn't do any of those. He understood why his aunt had never collected anything from his parents. Why she strived so much to be independent and not involve them in her daily activities. It was for reasons like these. He parked his car along the curb of the street. He was still as he watched the occupants of New York city go about their normal business. It brought peace to him to know that everyone had one issue or the other but they still went about their business like nothing was wrong. He saw a little girl sitting on a bench and licking her ice cream with a smile on her face. He couldn't spot either of her parents so he left to go talk to the girl. He walked up to her and immedia

The system cracked open, spilling data across my screen. I was surprised at how steady my hands were but I knew that it was definitely for the best.It was all there, their names, networks, routes. Everything I needed to finally pin these people and bring an end to this madness was right in front of me. I wanted to make them suffer for the pain they were putting me through. I didnt want them to have any sort of peace and I was willing to do everything in my power to make sure that happened. I searched “Steele.” Thousands of results and my chest tightened. How was I going to locate my son in all these mess? I took in a deep breathe and steadied myself. This was very important and I needed to make sure that I got it right. My son’s life was on the line after all. I kept searching and then one hit. I saw that it was actually red flagged and it had the name Micah Steele. “Oh God,” I whispered.Liam’s hand gripped my shoulder, grounding me. “What do you see?”“An active transfer order.”

  • The Forgotten Bride   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FIVE

I knew something was wrong the moment my phone buzzed in the middle of a busy work day. The school’s number flashing on my screen wasn’t unusual. What was unusual was the sound in the principal’s voice. A tremor. A panic she tried and failed to mask. I sat up on my desk, just waiting to hear whatever terrible news they had for me at that moment. “Ms. Kuda,” she stuttered. “There’s… there’s been an incident.” My blood froze and my brain went round and round, trying to figure out exactly what the problem was this time. All I could do was wish that my son wasnt dead. “What incident?” My voice was sharp, clipped, like I was trying to cut through her hesitation with sheer force.“It’s Micah. He—he’s missing.” she stuttered again and I could not help but wonder why I ever trusted my son in the hands of people like these. What would I really have seen in them? My whole world titlted and I felt my knees buckling till they finally gave in and I fell into the chair. As soon as I fell, I pi

  • The Forgotten Bride   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY FOUR

I had no idea that Amara was still going through such a difficult phase in her life. Everything in my head screamed at me for not paying enough attention to her to actually notice what was happening but I also knew that if I hadnt paid attention to myself, I would have faded away with the wind. Everything just looked and felt wrong about her being so low. She was always a woman who was more active than most people even gave her credit for and now, it was about time that she was being acknowledged for how hard working she truly was. I wasnt going to actually stop till I got the best help for her. I didnt only want to see Alyra and Cassian run and hide like the idiots they are, I also wanted to see them suffer and also watch them see Amara rise from the ground, something I was sure they never expected to happen to her in a million years. Amara particularly wanted to see them burn, she wanted to smoke them out of the hole they had gone to hide in. We decided to have a press conference

"So now you want us to talk? About what exactly?" She asked."Why not allow me come inside first? Or do you want your neighbours to see me here?" I asked knowing very well that there is nothing she hates more than bringing attention to herself in the most bizarre way. "Come in," was all she said and I didnt wait to hear another word before I opened my door wide and allowed her to enter. I could not believe the heavenly smell I got when I finally got into the house. "You are an amazing cook," I complimented her. She laughed softly, "you havent even tasted what I am cooking. So how exactly do you know that I am going to be a good cook or that I am actually a good cook?" "I can perceive the food already and I know its good. I don't actually need anyone to tell me that." I said and she smiled softly at me before going back to the kitchen. I followed after her, not wanting her to feel like I had abandoned her again. I didnt know exactly what this woman wanted from me but I could tell

  • The Forgotten Bride   CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY TWO

Liam POVI woke up to the rays of the sun almost blinding my eyes. I could not remember closing anything that looked like a window when I came in. It slept way earlier than I initially planned to but my body was exhausted and over time, I just had to give in to it. When I woke up, the saw Amara’s face and the first thing I remembered was her pouring coffee for people. That memory was stuck in my head and I knew that it would take so much for me to get it out of my head. For now, it had refused to go anyway. I could not help but blame myself for this madness. After all, it was all my fault that this escalated the way it did. It was all my fault that this matter had to even get to the level it did. I could not believe that these people were actually expecting me to just sit back and not be upset with what was going on.I squinted my eyes over and over again, trying my best to not allow the thought of the love of my life serving people coffee. Things had stabilised a lot in the company
