24. Flashbacks

“Someone’s following us, young miss.” Uncle Shan warned her, while he glimpsed at the rearview mirror from time to time. “Look at that white van, since we passed by the crossroad, it's already tailing us."

Jacyn looked back and saw a white van in the distance. It was early in the morning and there were not too many cars on the road. The van couldn't be easily spotted as it maintained a significant distance from them. If it was only her, she wouldn't have noticed that that car was following them discreetly. But it was Uncle Shan, her personal driver and bodyguard. He was a retired military and he was trained for this purpose. And so she believed his judgement.

"Uncle Shan, what should we do, then?" She said weakly, her hair started to rise on one end. It was like a deja vu and she started to panic. Uncle Shan increased their speed as an answer to her. She looked back and noticed that the van increased its speed too, to keep them within their range.

"Please put on your seatbelt, Miss.
