32. No longer bound by the past.

"Let's get married."

Jacyn stopped on her track without turning back. She had already walked away from him.

"Jacyn, let's get married." He repeated it, louder than the first one. There was a hint of desperation in his voice.

There were a few people who had heard him had stopped to look at them and wait for the outcome of his question. But eventually had to turn away from them after a few minutes of her silence.

She heard him the first time, loud and clear. But she refused to turn back and look at him, she refused to let him see the surprise on her face. She didn't expect that he could still ask her to marry him despite all the things that happened between them.

If he had asked her to marry him on that fateful day, maybe she had already said yes. She had hoped in the past to hear those words from him, especially on that day. But instead of proposing to her, he had asked another woman to marry him. What made it worse is he did it on their supposed third anniversary.
