Rohan

The late morning sun washed upon me as I leaned towards the grass with one knee on the ground. The warm breeze blew gently, making the grass dance gingerly as I stared at the impression on the ground before me.

Wolfprints. They were not easy to spot. I was confused by this. Why would wolf prints be just inside our borders? It didn’t make any sense. It couldn’t be the Black Fang because they were already in a crisis. And it couldn’t be the Blue Valley either because Damon just got back. There was only one other explanation for this.

“What is it?” Jarred called from behind me.

I touched the prints before letting out a sigh. They were only indented lightly on the ground which meant that they were in a hurry. I rose from my knees and turned to him.

“Rogues,” I replied.

Jarred cranked his brow in surprise. He had his arms folded and the morning sun caught his brown hair. Behind him were the rest of the patrol squad, Hansel and Harrison with a few other members. I was happy that

RohanShe wouldn’t talk. I could see it in her eyes. She was hiding something different. Something I couldn’t ignore. Her scent was different than anything I’d ever smelled. There was something about her I’d been trying to find out. And that was who her real pack was. It wasn’t the Blue Valley that was for certain. The smell was so distinct. And that was why I couldn’t understand it. “I—I,” she stuttered, her eyes searching the sheets like the answers were there, but there were none. “I’m sorry, but I can’t tell you.”I clenched my jaw. Of course, she wouldn’t. She didn’t trust me. Even after everything I’d done. I’d given her a place to live, a job, and a healthy life. I’d protected her from Damon who was chasing her. I knew that he was plotting something. He wouldn’t let go of Anna easily. He would come back for her. That was why I was always on my toes with him. But even after all of that, she still wouldn’t let me in. I was done being nice. When I saw her at the market looking p

AnnaI couldn’t start to explain how embarrassed I was. Even after I’d told him I was okay on my own, he had forced himself to carry me back to the house. Who did he think he was? He was Alpha Rohan Coleman. And deep down, somewhere in the pit of my stomach, I wanted to be Mrs. Coleman. I shuddered in disgust. Why would I think of such now? The house loomed ahead, and I was happy that I would finally be able to get away from him. I was done seeing him. Every time he was around me, I always felt uncertain about everything. He made me doubt myself a lot and I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or bad. The ‘78 Ford Mustang engine came to a halt as we arrived at the house. Rohan stepped out of the car in a flash and opened the backseat. I was already moving towards the door trying to show that I could walk on my own. But it didn’t look like he was buying that. Rohan scooped me off my feet before they could touch the ground and I shook my body in protest. His grip was firm making it

AnnaIt was three nights ago, and I still couldn’t forget what Rohan had said. I couldn’t deny that I wanted him to stay. That was why I had urged him to come in for dinner. I thought we could finally talk after having to look over our shoulders for so long. I just wanted us to have a nice good conversation, but that didn’t seem like it was going to happen. This was why I’d wanted him to reject me. I didn’t want to go through such a drama again. But like every other Alpha, he was stubborn. “What’s on your mind?” Stella asked as we passed the meat stalls. I blinked hard, snapping back to reality. The weirdest sense of Deja vu hit me. It was almost like we’d had this conversation before. I clenched my jaw and heaved a sigh of relief. “Nothing, Stella. Let’s just hurry home,” I said gazing at the meat stalls. “My back is starting to cramp.”“Don’t sound grumpy now,” she said, staring at the particular piece. It was a large portion of steak. One that would be perfect for dinner. Stel

Rohan“Remind me why we are here again?” I asked Jarred as the elevator door of the Rainbow Bar opened. The thick, warm air filled with the stench of alcohol greeted me as I stepped into the bar. I’d forgotten what a place this was. The drinking, the laughter, and the music blaring in the background. I’d been so busy catching Cassian that I’d forgotten about what reality felt like. Jarred patted me on the back. I didn’t like that. “You deserve to relax, Rohan. You’ve been through a lot. So I think you need a drink.”I clenched my jaw. That wasn’t exactly what I needed. I needed some rest and a way to track down Cassian. That was the only way I would feel relaxed. Right now, I feel edgy being in here. Like I was betraying the promise I made to Dayton. I promised to help him get back Tiana. And that’s what I was going to do. “I don’t think that’s what I need….”“Shhh. Relax, Rohan,” Jarred called softly. “Don’t worry, I’ll fill you in on everything that happened while you were gone.”

DamonDinner was over. Sophie was in the kitchen with Amber and they were doing the dishes. My mother, Naomi, preferred to sit at the table alone. I didn’t want her to eavesdrop on our conversation, so Michael and I took a stroll through the darkness until we were out of ear’s reach. The night sky was star-filled and the sound of crickets disturbed the silence that surrounded us. My hands were in my pockets and I recalled the fight I had with Isaiah. It was funny that a kid reminded me of what having a family felt like. I’d been long gone for so many days and obsessed with finding Anna that I’d forgotten that I had a family waiting for me at home. I was loved here. Not just by Sophie or my parents, but the pack as a whole. I couldn’t lie that the infrastructure at the Crescent Pack amazed me, but I was happy that I was still part of something. My people were still alive and there was chaos. I couldn’t say the same for Dayton. I wondered how he was faring with his people. After putt
