Fenrir POV.

Coming out of the dream, I know Mia has woken up. I look over at Theo, who is still blissfully asleep. We need to monitor her; I know something is going to happen to her. I can feel it in my gut.

Hearing a groan from my side, I turn my gaze to Theo, who is grinding his hips against my leg, and I chuckle.

“Good morning, mate.” I say to him, and he grunts in response before he moves closer to me. I watch him as he sits up, rubbing his eyes, and a yawn escapes his lips.

“Morning, well, last night went well.” He says as she snuggles closer to me and I sigh.

“It could have gone better. I think you scared her a little bit. Maybe tone down the moody Alpha vibe you give off. We need her to come to us willingly, not run for the hills.” I tell him and he pouts and folds his arms over his chest.

“I am not moody, nor do I give off an Alpha vibe. That mister is all you,” he says, poking me in the chest. I chuckle at him.

“Yeah, sure, whatever you say, Alpha Moody.” He growls at me and I laugh louder at his playfulness.

Even the biggest humans are nine times out of ten the nicest people you will ever meet. Walking to a small table in the corner, all eyes are on us and I flash the best smile I can and say hello as we walk through.

Sitting down, I look out the window and look at the sleepy town; it is rather boring and I know Mia wants out of this town. I can read her thoughts even in her dream state. I know what happened and why she came to this little town and if I ever see him, he will wish he was never born, especially if he hurts our girl.

I’m not about killing humans, but Theo doesn’t have that problem. The only humans we will kill are the hunters. They are an organisation who hunt our species, well that was until the war that happened seven years ago.

The rogues didn’t just attack the packs, they also attacked human towns. Leaving me to do the clear up. Humans and hunters seeing the werewolves helping rebuild the towns that were destroyed. Well, we made an agreement with the hunters that they will only go after rogues that are out looking for trouble.

They shit themselves when they came face to face with me and Aura. Facing a God and Goddess, they had no choice but to agree. Aura would have killed them all without caring, but I knew Destinee would not have been happy, so we came to an agreement. The hunters leave the packs alone and only go after the rogues that cause issues. So far, it has worked out nicely.

The server takes our orders and we sit and watch the world go by. Theo is like me, not very talkative, so it works well. Mia, however, is the opposite, and you know what they say opposites attract.

“How much longer are we going to wait?” Theo asks with a sigh as he stirs his coffee and pulls my attention to him. He is never one for patience. He is the one who is more impulsive than I am.

“When she is ready, Theo, we discussed this. You heard what Destinee and Aura said yesterday. If we rush this, she will run and then we will be back to square one. Patience is a virtue.” I tell him as I bring my coffee cup to my lips, and he groans and whines.

“She will die a virgin at this rate.” I choke and splutter and he laughs at my reaction and I’m sure half the café just heard him.

“No, she will not. Give her time. We will keep our eyes on her. I have already sent some of our men into the diner and the hounds are waiting. So just be patient or I’ll send you home.” I tell him and he sulks, folding his arms over her chest. I feel a headache coming on.

I have to remind myself I’m over 5,000-year-old and he is 30 years old. So yeah, he is a pup to me and right now he is acting like one. A pup who has been put on the naughty step for having his hand caught in the cookie jar.

My phone rings and I take out of my pocket and see it’s one of my men from the diner. Something is off.

“Hello, everything ok?” I hear him sigh. Oh, what now?

“Boss, she has gone…” he has to be kidding.

“What do you mean, gone? Gone where?” I look at Theo and he throws his head back.

“That’s just it. We don’t know. We have sent the hounds to look for her…” I growl through the phone.

“We are on our way. You better pray to my sister that she comes back, otherwise I will drag you back to hell kicking and screaming before handing you to your mom.” I say as I hang up.

“What’s happened?” I look at Theo as I stand and head towards the door of the café. Theo pays and catches up with me.

“Mia, they can’t find her.” I tell him as we round the corner and I open a portal and step through.

Where the fuck did she go?
