Chapter 5.

Mia POV.

I’m laying on the familiar bed, but I don’t see them anywhere. Something is wrong. Looking around my surroundings, I realise I’m actually in my bedroom.

“Hello, anyone there?” I call out and my voice echoes into the darkness. Pulling myself up, I shuffle to the side of the bed and stand.

“Mia,” I hear it echo and I turn around, looking around for him. The man from the diner.

“Mia,” I follow the voice in a trancelike state. I see a door up ahead. I move towards the door and place my hand on the handle and push the door open and I’m blinded by pure bright white light. Shielding my eyes with my arm. I let my eyes adjust to the light. Before shapes take form.

I’m standing in a field on top of a hill. Looking out over the area, it is beautiful. I take a step forward; the grass is soft under my bare feet and the air is warm; the sun is high in the sky and there are no clouds in sight.

“Mia,” I turn my head to the side and I’m standing at the treeline. The trees are enormous. They look like they are touching the heavens, and I hear my name called again. It’s coming from the forest.

I step beyond the treeline and walk for what seems like forever. The smell of the earth invades my nose and it calms me.

“Mia,” I stop and realise I am now in front of a mansion at the foot of a mountain. It’s breathtaking.

“Hello, anyone there?” calling out as I take in the grandeur of this house. The solid oak front door opens and the hairs on the back of my neck stand up and goosebumps erupt on my skin.

The voice calls me again, and my feet move on their own. I try to look around, but I can’t see anything; the path is lit but the surroundings are dark.

“Mia,” the voice grows louder and my feet move faster up the stairs and down a corridor. Before I realise what is happening, I open a door. The room is shrouded in darkness and my heart beats wildly against my ribcage.

“Hello,” I call out and my voice echoes again. I step forward and fall. I scream and brace myself for my imminent death. But it doesn’t come. I land on something soft.

I look around and see I’m on a bed that isn’t my own. It’s huge, you can easily fit several people in it. I hear a noise from the side of me and slowly turn my head and gasp at what I’m seeing.

The two men from the diner are kissing each other, their hands moving over each other’s naked bodies, and I can’t tear my eyes away. I feel the ache in between my legs just watching them kissing. My breath catches in my throat. Which pulls them both out of the kiss. Both of them look at me and I can see hunger in their eyes. My heart beats frantically, I’m not scared they will never hurt me.

I go to speak when soft lips crash against mine, and my back hits the soft sheets. A moan leaves my lips.

He pulls away from me and gazes into my eyes and I gaze into his ice-blue eyes; I shiver and he chuckles.

“We don’t have a lot of time, my love.” He says as he moves away from me and I become confused.

Pulling myself up on my elbows, I look at them both, my eyes trail down their naked muscular chests and I bite my bottom lip as my gaze travels lower. It’s only fair. My eyes widen at the what lies between their legs. Fuck! They are hung. Their cocks are thick and long. I instinctively close my legs.

“Mia, we mean you no harm. You belong with us and only us. I have been searching for you for thousands of years. You are ours.” I tilt my head to the side and look at him.

“This doesn’t make sense. Who are you both?” I ask as I look him in the eye and I feel safe, like this is home. They won’t hurt me. Well, the one who has spoken won’t but the other one I’m not too sure.

“I’m Fen and this is my mate, Theo.” There’s that word again.

“Oh, I see. So you two are like friends with benefits, yeah?” I ask as I notice they both have similar marks on the area between the shoulder and neck. It looks like… like teeth marks.

I move back subconsciously and every cell in my body is screaming at me to run. But I can’t I’m rooted to the bed.

Theo chuckles at me, and I turn my gaze on him. He is more scary that Fen.

“Something like that, but you are ours and that will never change. So you better get used to it.” He says with a sinister chuckle, and I freeze. I was wrong, so fucking wrong. This Theo will definitely hurt me.

“Mia.” I turn and look at Fen as he crawls closer to me and takes my face in his hands, and I feel tingly.

“We won’t leave you now that we have found you. You will always be safe with us. Rest, my love. We will see you again soon.” He kisses me again. It’s softer. I try to ask a question when I open my eyes with my alarm going off.

It was another dream. Holy hell, it was different. Is this possible? They are here for me? My brain has turned to mush as I try to process what Fen said. ‘Thousands of years’ what the fuck? How is that even possible?

The marks on them. My eyes widen, and I jump out of bed and run towards the bookshelf in the living room. And find the book on wolves and lycanthropy. Don’t ask me why I am fascinated with this subject. I believe there was always a nugget of truth in every myth and legend.

Flipping through the book, I see the picture of the tattoo and my head spins. Nope. I shut the book and put it back. Fiddling with my fingers, I start to pace the floor in the living room. I bite my fingers when my phone rings. Snapping out of my thoughts, I run back to see it’s Gina.

“Hey, where are you?” I pull the phone away and see the time. Fuck! I’m late.

“Sorry, babe, time escaped me. Give me half an hour and I’ll be there, OK?” I say as I run towards the bathroom and turn the shower on.

“Ok, girl, don’t rush. I’ve got you covered, see you soon.” She says before hanging up. I rip my shorts and vest top off and climb into the shower and get washed at record speed.

Climbing out, I get dried as quick as I can. Running in to my bedroom and ripping drawers open to throw on my underwear and bra, grabbing jeans I pull them on but my legs are slightly wet, so it takes longer.

Grabbing a t-shirt, I throw it over my head as I head back into the bathroom and quickly brush my teeth. Leaving the bathroom, I grab a hair tie off the bedside unit and start ripping my hair up into a messy bun on top of my head and head into the living room. Sitting on the sofa, I throw on my converse and grab everything before running out the door.

Running down the stairs of the apartment building, I finally exit and run towards the diner.

Pulling the door open, I finally breathe a deep breath. I got here on time. But fucking hell, I really need to get in shape. Sweat is glistening on my forehead. I dump my stuff behind the counter and make a start on the morning rush.

Today is going to be a nightmare. I can just feel it.
