THIRD PERSON POV

Alpha Madam Banana pulled Magdalene into the car, feeling overly grateful and happy.

Cate stirred inside Magdalene's chest. 'She's really a family, her scent is familiar'

Despite this, Magdalene was still in a daze, finding it hard to conclude that Gracey had a family member, and that one, related to Clawdeen!

"You look just like her" Madam Banana cooed. "Glad you didn't look like that pauper father of yours that took my daughter away."

Magdalene frowned. "Pauper father? Did you know my Dad?"

"Aunt Gracey was my dad's younger sister. I heard she ran away with Dad's driver — literally your dad" Clawdeen entered the car, explaining things to Magdalene.

Her chest sank in shock and panic, she knew her father was a driver to some highly respected Beta, but now he was Clawdeen's father?

"Em...Why didn't you find me all this time? Why do you come now? because my mom got married to an Alpha?"

Madam Banana kept quiet because what Magdalene said was true. She was never in support of her daughter marrying a driver like Magdalene's father, Issac Wolfe in the first place.

Magdalene shot Clawdeen a glance. "Talk to me! You found out I was the Gamma's stepsister, already right? That's why you wanted me to spy on myself by pretending you believed me, right?"

Clawdeen's smile froze on her face. "Wait, you mean you're their stepsister? the one seducing them?"

"I didn't seduce them, I was just—" she stopped. Magdalene's conscience told her that was true. If she hadn't gone to July's room, she wouldn't have found him masturbating. If she had refused to pick April at the club and the mark on her neck....

Her hand travelled to her neck quickly. Clawdeen leaned over and grabbed her hand. "Tell me, you're indeed the Gammas stepsister?"

Magdalene bit her lips, she realized she'd exposed herself in a fit of anger. Now she had to explain herself to Clawdeen.

"Your father was a disgrace to our family name" Madam Banana began slowly. "How could my daughter get pregnant by her brother's driver? I didn't know she would run away because of that"

The old woman's excuse made no sense to Magdalene. She only snorted. "Don't talk to me! My mother never told me she had a family, and I will never acknowledge you as my grandmother."

"Do you have a death wish?" Clawdeen got angry. "I'm asking you about the Gammas, you bastard!"

Magdalene stopped midway to exiting the car. She knew this was a new season of bullying from Clawdeen, but she didn't care.

The deed is done anyway.

"If you know what's good for you, I'll advice you to stop running after them. None of them will ever look at you as a woman, and they have mates already, cut the crap."

Clawdeen unleashed her claws. "How dare you talk —"

"I'm no longer weak and wolfless, Clawdeen." Magdalene's tone was frank and final, her fangs and claws out too. "My dad wasn't a pauper because he worked hard enough, things didn't go his way."

Madam Banana sat frozen between her granddaughters both of them with fangs and claws out.

But Magdalene withdrew hers. "So old woman, I'm sorry, I'm leaving now."

Madam Banana held her back. "Mag...Can you come around this weekend?"

Magdalene stopped but didn't say anything.

"Excuse me." She gently yanked her hand away and left without looking back.

Amy — Clawdeen's puppet and best friend stopped her. "Hey, what's going on between you and Deen?"

Magdalene pushed her hand away. "I'm not interested in talking to you."

Back inside the pink Lamborghini, Madam Banana held Clawddeyback before she also stormed away.

"Dear, would you come visit me on the weekend too? It's been a long time since we played golf together."

Clawdeen was still boiling with anger. "She can come play golf together with you, Grandma. I'm not interested."

"What's going on between you two?" Madam Banana didn't let go. "Don't tell me you want to drag the same man with her?"

"I will not let someone like her steal my men!" Clawdeen swore. "I will bring anyone who would stop me from dating the Gammas down, including you if possible."

Then she stormed out too ready to storm Magdalene and 'show her where she belongs'.

••••

August and Egzon were watching the scene from the laboratory window.

"Who is that old woman?" August asked. "She looks very rich"

Egzon was already scrolling through his phone. "The school blog will identify her."

"She must be from Magdalene's family" He heaved a long sigh. Calling her by her name sounds easy and quick from his lips after what he'd done.

He hadn't told Egzon what he's done, but deep down August, he loved it.

"Dang it!" Egg snapped. "She's Madam Banana."

August frowned. "Madam Banana? The Beta's Mother?"

Egzon snapped his hand. "Yes, she is. Clawdeen's grandmother. Did you remember when she walked on the runway and won Miss World when she was 70 years old?"

The pieces scattered in August's brain. "So...?"

"She's Mag's grandmother too! Your stepmom's mother"

The world stopped. August slowly turned to Egzon. "What did you just see?"

Egzon gave him the phone. "I mean it. The videos are also...."

August snapped it from his friend, his blood heating up.

How was this possible?

He remembered Alpha Moses telling him that Gracey — Magdalene's mother had no family, so how could she have a mother out of nowhere?

It took a while before the reality hit him like a slap.

His eyes met Egzon almost immediately.

"Mag!"

As fast as light, they're downstairs, ruffling through the crowd towards Magdalene's department.

His blood was boiling.

August knew something was wrong— terribly wrong too.

He stopped at the door, other students were hanging around the window, everyone's camera out.

August's blood sparked, he surged forward and bolted in despite the crowd.

At first, he didn't see Magdalene, he only saw Clawdeen.

"What have you done to her?" His tone came out very low, but deliberate and sharp.

Clawdeen stepped closer.

"Did you come because you're worried about me? Don't worry, I..."

August pushed her. "Cut the crap, what have you done to my mate!"

Clawdeen's face changed. "So it was true."

"Where is my Mate!?"

"Why do you and your brothers never look at me? Why have you marked that dirty pauper's daughter, and not me?" A tear ran down her face.

August's jaw clenched. "You don't deserve half of what she is, Clawdeen"

"What should I do to be worthy of you then?"

"Nothing!"

Clawdeen stepped back and roared in agony. "Stop lying to me, August, Stop the fuckin lie!" She looked around the class. "Everyone here knew you and your brothers were never in a good relationship, so what did she do, how did someone like her bring you together"

August swallowed hard. This was true.

She was the reason why the four of them ever sat around the same table to eat.

She's done a lot more good than the damage he was trying to prevent, but how....

"Deen, we'd locked her in the cold storage room."

August didn't look at Clawdeen, he pushed her aside and made towards the cold storage.

MAGDALENE'S POVThe door clicked open just as August dropped me so I could work on his half-opened trousers. My mouth was already begging for it, my body already shuddering, desiring to gag on August's big cock. The blinding lights that flooded in irritated me to the core, I hissed and rushed to my feet, two figures entered, followed by a female figure. They stopped before us, and their presence blocked the light so I saw the faces. Clawdeen, April, and June.I gasped immediately. "Why are you guys here?" June didn't spare me a glance, he reached out and hit August's face."June!" I screamed, but he shook his head.April rushed to me, pulled me to his side. Clawdeen is eyeing me dangerously."April please stop them" I cried. "August didn't..." "Stay out of this!" June roared, his fist raised high ready to pounce on August. He looked back, our eyes meeting. "Take her away, April.""No!" I cried, tried to get out of April's grip. "I'll not leave here" June already turned August int

MAGDALENE'S POVDamn it!Why did I attempt to look Clawdeen in the face? The cold storage room smelled like old meat, making me feel nauseated. I quietly glued myself to the wall, my teeth chattering, hands shaking, since I'd failed to open the door or get myself out. 'Get us out of here, I'm claustrophobic' Cate echoed in my head. I couldn't do anything. I only shook my head as if I could see Cate. Stacks of books were arranged in several cartons, my half-closed eyes sighed a particular box inscribed with. MOSES ERNESTO.Dragging my feet on the cold floor, I reached out for the box of transcripts and saw different transcripts that seemingly belonged to Moses Ernesto. He was one of the pioneers of the school and under a particular boy, I signed a photo. It was monochrome, indicating it was old. I shakily picked it, looking at Alpha Moses and a particular woman hugging each other. The woman looked familiar for some reason, but with my current situation, I couldn't decode where I'

MADGADALENE'S POV July was discharged immediately when he woke up, and August wasn't at home by the time we got back. I covered my neck with a scarf so no one would see the mark yet; I needed time to assimilate the shit and fucks happening right now. "I'm fine," July told me when he could speak. "I'm sorry I got everyone worried; I don't know how it happened." I could only muster a silent "goodnight" and went back to my room; it was now 1am. Everything August said was unforgettable, even though I wished I could forget it. I stripped the wet clothes and stared at my nakedness in the mirror; I felt I wasn't myself at that moment. My human body appeared only for a split second; my wolf appeared, crimson-furred, not too big, and looking very weak. "So I had a wolf," I whispered to myself, reality tasting bitter. "And one of the gammas could die because of the mate bond." The marking spot arched for a second, announcing its presence. 'You can now reject the mate

MAGDALENE'S POV It almost felt as if my soul left my body for a second when the new guy said this. "What did you just say?" He pulled August. "Come and see for yourself." For a second, no one reacted after they left, but like a storm, April and June sprang up, screamed, and ran out. I got up after them too, my heart racing madly; sweat covered me. Outside, the September air was damp with rain that would not fall. Nothing seems right, but merely looking at it, nothing has changed. "Where is he?" August's tone was surprisingly chilly and dark. "Where is my brother?" The latter fearsomely pointed to the grey Rolls-Royce July always takes. We moved towards it, and when August pulled the door, July fell out, the seatbelt off. "July!" June rushed there, pushing August aside. April ran to the informant. "What did you do to him? How did you know he was dead?" "I saw him enter the car but didn't drive out for a long time. I swear, I didn't do anything. I de

AUGUST "He's so handsome." I always hear that comment daily. "He's so cold." That was the comment I always expected. But I loved to hear. But today, she didn't sugarcoat; she told me exactly what I wasn't expecting to hear. 'She was right,' Eros said. 'You gain nothing from locking up your own emotions.' The fact that the woman I badly wanted to hate is the one making me doubt myself is annoying. 'The mate bond is ruining you, August, ' Eros proceeded. 'You kissed her even though you act cold to her. If this goes on, you might lose control.' That darn mate bond again! "Eros, this is not my fault. The prophecy..." I got back to the lab. "...is why I must make sure my brothers rejected her." "August," Egzon called, already waiting. "How did it go? My dad just called that the alpha and his wife tuned to the airport." I finally heaved a breath of relief. Making Egzon my friend gives me access to Dad's every movement, since Egzon was Dad's driver. "Why would you even
