Darkness had completely consumed the skies when Ralph stepped into Edwin's study. Edwin's eyes fell on his swollen lips, and the bandage woven around his shoulder.

Although, Ralph's steps were steady, his face and eyes spoke the truth.

Edwin immediately stood from his seat with a bewildered look on his face. "What happened, Ralph?"

"The meeting I had scheduled with the guard did not go as planned," Ralph said, moving closer to Edwin. "Miles' is out."

Edwin's eyes narrowed. "He refused?"

The silence between them stretched, heavy and sharp.Garrett slumped again, his voice dropping to a rasp. "You think you are the first Alpha Aldric used? He has been doing this for decades, sowing wars, trading power, bleeding packs dry. He will never stop. Not until he owns every territory under the moon."Edwin's gaze hardened. "Then I will stop him."Garrett gave a hoarse laugh. "You will try. But Aldric isn't like me. He is clever. He hides behind alliances, treaties, oaths. You won't find him easily."Edwin turned to leave, but Garrett's voice stopped him."Edwin."He paused."You have already taken everything from me," Garrett quietly said. "But if you go after Aldric, don't make my mistake. Do not become him."Edwin's jaw tightened, but he didn't reply. He simply walked out, the iron door s

It began with a letter.Ralph brought it into Alpha's chamber one cold evening, his boots echoing against the stone floor. The air was thick with the scent of rain; thunder rumbled faintly in the distance."Ralph," Edwin called the moment he entered into his study. "What brings you here at this time of the day?""My lord, I come bearing news. One that needs to be urgently attended to," Ralph said, stretching out his hand."Where did you get this from?" Edwin asked, not looking up from the reports before him."Intercepted," Ralph replied. "One of our scouts found it on a rogue messenger outside the border. He said he wanted to ignore it at first, but he could not overlook it when he spotted that it was marked with the Bloodfang insignia."At that, Edwin's eyes lifted sharply. "Bloodfang?"Ralph nodded grimly. "Yes, Alph

Edwin did not visit the prisoners for days.He stayed in his quarters, reviewing reports, listening to Ralph's updates, and reading Tiara's quiet reassurances."Are they talking?" he finally asked Ralph one morning.Ralph hesitated. "No, Alpha. The father paces, curses, and rants. The daughter cries, then laughs, then prays. They are unraveling, both of them.""I do not really understand why you are doing this to them, but for whatever reason you are, it is working."Edwin nodded slowly."Good. Keep them apart."Ralph's brow furrowed. "And when they break?"Edwin's gaze hardened. "Only then will I listen."Tiara, standing quietly nearby, looked at him. Her face exhibited worry, one that overshadowed her expression."Do not let their destruction become yours

Vanessa, by contrast, was kept in the upper wing, a cleaner cell, but surrounded by guards who were under strict orders not to speak a word to her. Even if she were dying. The separation was meant to break them, and it did.Garrett sat hunched against the damp wall, his once-powerful shoulders now slumped beneath the weight of his own thoughts. The silence was maddening. He could hear the faint echo of dripping water, the scratch of rats in the corners, the rhythm of his own breathing, until even that began to sound like someone else's.He had always ruled through fear, always commanded loyalty through dominance. But down here, there was no one left to command. No one to lie to. No one believed to believe him.Days passed. He began talking to himself, quietly at first, then louder."They think they have won," he mutte

The torches burned low in the dungeon that night, shadows crawling across the stone walls like restless ghosts. The screams from earlier had faded, leaving only silence, and the faint drip of water echoing from the ceiling.Garrett sat slumped against the iron pillar, his arms bound in silver chains that had already seared half-moon marks into his wrists. He looked different now, the proud and mighty Beta of the Dark Moon pack reduced to a bruised, hollow-eyed man. But there was still a dangerous glint in his stare. It was the glint of a wolf that refused to die quietly.Across the cell, Vanessa sat curled on the ground, whispering to herself. She muttered broken words that no one could understand. The heavy door creaked open. Edwin entered. Alone this time.No guards. No Ralph.Just him, and the echo of his own footsteps.

A few minutes later, Vanessa walked out of a place where Lena assumed to be her bathroom. She watched her as she took a seat before her. Dressed in a silky black robe. She crossed her arms, wearing an expectant expression ."And??" She coldly said.Lena immediately fell on her knees. Her face glued

The doors to the arena shut close with a heavy thud, and the lock slid into place. Only Edwin and Ralph remained inside.
