Enzo Present

“Hey, I had overheard a conversation with the former Gamma awhile back. You mind if I tell you?” I ask Talia. Nervous about how she would react. She hums in response. I relate everything that happen back then to her and watch her body movements and facial expressions. Once finished, she just stares at me blankly.

“Talia?” I whisper to her. She smiles and gets up. I watch her walk to the door and leave. Fuck! Should I go after her? Is she mad at me? She has got to understand; they wanted evidence when I brought it up. Eavesdropping on a high ranked member could have gone bad at the time. Who knows, maybe that’s not what it was, but it was suspicious right? FUCK! I should have said something sooner. I run outside to catch up with her, but I don’t see her anywhere. So, I ran to her home texting Taim and Jack to look for her.

Alpha Austin

My wolf has been on edge since tomorrow we will be visiting the Everest Pack to meet about the missing children. ‘Could you quit! We will be seeing Jessica tonight. She’ll relieve your stress, Espin.’ I try to clam my wolf. ‘I don’t want her, I want mate! My mate!’ He growls out. I sigh.

As a 38-year-old male wolf without a mate, I have been messing around with she wolfs to satisfy my needs. Clearly Espin does not approve, but I am pretty sure we will be mate less for the rest of our lives. Its time we take on a mate. ‘NO!’ Espin roars. ‘Mate is coming soon. Be patient, fool!’ I roll my eyes and I smell that Jessica has arrived.

Theres a knock on my office door. ‘Don’t let her in. You will hurt mate!’ Espin exaggerates. Going over to the door I put a block up, so Espin doesn’t ruin this night for me and open the door. She has on a very slutty dress that looks too tight for her. She is thin, which is not for me. I must be gentler with her. Her hair is long to grab, but the color is fake. It is blonde with dark highlights. Her ass is too small as well. It’ll have to do.

“Hey Alpha,” She says in a sultry voice. “I’m ready to help you with all your stress. I know those kids have been worrying you.” She smiles up at me. I smile, “ Come on. I must go to bed early tonight. So just suck me off and be gone with it.” I say to quickly. “Yes, Alpha.” As she scurries over to bed and positions herself to suck me off.

As I lay there trying to relax, I suddenly get flashes of images in my brain. It was of a girl with a scar on her stomach. Three! Then I see a child with her and they are playing. I notice her hair is black. That’s all I see before it goes away.

“What the fuck!” I spit out confused. “Dddid I do something wrong Alpha? You are not hard, what’s wrong baby?” Jessica asks in a sweet but confusing way. “Get the fuck off me. WE are done! DO NOT COME BACK!!” I raise my voice as I finish my last sentence. She gathers her stuff and runs out crying. Good. ‘Nick! Office NOW!’ I mind link my brother as I make my way to my office.

‘What’s wrong? Jessica piss you off again?’ He responds back, but I don’t say anything. He enters and he is trying to figure out my emotions. “My wolf did it again.” I tell him. “Whoa. Who do you think she is? Maybe he is trying to tell you something about your mate.” Nick wonders out loud. I groaned, “Yeah but this time, she had a pup near her. That pup looked exactly like her. Well, from what I could tell anyway.” “Maybe she is human. That could explained why you were never able to find her” Nick tells me thoughtfully.

He sits in my chair, and we both don’t say anything for a while. Suddenly, I feel a push from Espin. I sigh. “See what he wants. Maybe he can tell you something.” ‘Espin, you have been putting images in my head for a year now. Who is she, and why do I see her?’ I ask him defeated. ‘You mean you don’t recognize her? She was in so much pain when we met her last year asshole.’ Espin starts rolling out. ‘I even told you to go to her, but you had gotten upset because she was naked and stormed off. I told you we must go to her, but you never listen! Mates have been away for a year, and you ignored me. Nincompoop!’

“What he say?” Nick asks me. I tell him everything, but I admit, I don’t remember what happened last year or when it had happened. “Wait naked. Does he think the Alpha of Everest pack sister is your…..” I cut him off. “ She doesn’t have a child, or if she did she wouldn’t have showed up to that ball drunk and naked. From what I hear she is always looking for attention.” I immediately respond with distaste, though I start to wonder. My wolf has been off since then. ‘Go to mate you nimrod!’

“We are supposed to go to that pack tomorrow morning, want to go tonight instead. Get Espin off your case.” Nick suggests. Its not a bad idea. ‘GO! She is hurting and scared. Mate needs us!’ “Alright, I will call Alpha Thallium and see what he says.” I look at Nick. I make the call and the receiver picks up after the forth ring. “Hello, Alpha Thallium’s office.” A women picks up and she sounds like she has been sniffling. Was this women crying.

Espin lets out a howl in pain and whimpers out, ‘Mate. Mate is hurting.’ “Um, oh, this is Alpha Austin. I was wondering if my Gamma and I could come over to Alpha Thallium’s pack tonight and stay until the Wednesday, instead of coming over tomorrow morning and leaving that same day.” Hoping it’ll relieve the stress for my wolf. “Oh! Alpha Austin. Let me mind link my brother. Give me a sec.”

There was a silence and as it fell it occurred to me that Talia had picked up. Was she crying? Why was she in the Alphas office this late? Why does my wolf think our mate is sad? “He said it will be alright. He’ll have two guest rooms ready once you arrive. Breakfast will either be brought to you or served to you depending on if you come down to the kitchen. I told him I can walk you guys if you want.” Espin tail begin wagging as if he finally found his lost bone. ‘Mate.’ Was all he said.

“Actually, that would be great if you could take us into the kitchen tomorrow. I want to ask you something, um Talia, right?” With that Nick shot out of his chair and walk briskly over to me mouthing the words, ‘What is Espin doing?’ I wave him off as I hear her take a sudden breath. “Yes, what is your question? I’m doing something and I just got reprimanded for being in my brothers office!” She said hurriedly. “Do you have a pup?”

Silence, then, “If you sent that folder of my pup and I find out that it is you, I will kill you!” Was the response before she hung up. I stared at the phone confused, but Espin was roaring with anger. ‘Someone hurt pup. Someone threatened pup!’ ‘Whoa, Espin, that’s not our pup. She is not our mate. Calm down buddy.’

Nick lets out a whistle. “I take it you and Zane are leaving then. I’ll go tell him.” I look at Nick and nod my head. I get up to pull the car around. I’ll drive us there. I’m nervous for what’s going to come, but I do know one thing, if Talia is my mate, I’m not leaving her or her pup, especially if they are in danger.
