Chapter Fourteen: Beach

Amanda's P.O.V 

  I feel like I can finally breathe when I leave the movie theatre. I can't be around him. I know he's only using me, messing with me. Why is he doing this? I never thought he would ever talk to me, let alone touch me. As I head to my car, I take a final look behind me just to make sure he hasn't followed me. Thank God he hasn't. 

  I don't feel like going home just yet, so I call my parents to tell them I'm fine, I'm with friends, and I'll be home later. I know it's a lie, but what they don't know won't hurt them. I need some alone time to think about everything that's happened in the past few days. 

  I start driving out of the car park when my stomach starts rumbling. God, I'm hungry. Next to the beach I'm heading to is a little pizza joint. I'll order myself a pizza. I love that beach. My family and the Stone family would always go there when Sage and I were kids. We would swim, have cookouts, and have a blast. I miss those days. I miss my best friend and how it used to be between us. I trusted him with everything, including my secrets. It all changed when that girl picked on me just because I was different. Later at my house, I cried, but Sage was annoyed by that and left my house, never to return. He started hanging out with that same girl,l leaving me alone. I tried to talk to him, but he just sneered at me, walking past holding her hand. That broke my heart. When I asked him why he was cruel. I remember exactly what he said that day because it hurt like hell.

  "I want to be around my own kind and not some whiny human crying all over me. Oh, and another thing, I am dating her now, so don't start saying crap about her. If she hurts you, it's because you deserve it." Sage said, tossing my feelings aside. He was such a jerk to me, but when I looked in his eyes, I could see sadness and a few tears in his eyes, but when I looked again, it was gone, with nothing else remaining but hatred. I never told anyone about that day, not even my parents. Everyone thought we would be friends again after our little fight, but it never got better. 

  After a few years, that same girl moved away, and I thought that things would get better between us, but instead, Vanessa came on the scene. She would follow him everywhere. Sage and Vanessa started hanging around with Derek, Kyle, and my two cousins, Xavier and Arica. That's when I lost them. That's when the four boys got the nickname the Fab4. 

  I snap out of my memory just as I arrive at the beach and pizza joint. I collect the pizza I preordered. It smells great. I walk down to my favorite spot on the beach, and the sand feels amazing under my feet. I put my blanket down and grabbed my book, Pride and Prejudice. I love this book. 

  I'm having a blast, reading my book, drinking my Coke, and eating my cheesy mushroom and sausage pizza. The wind feels lovely on my bare legs, shoulders, and face. I am so engrossed in my book that I don't see who is standing in front of me. Before I can look up, he has dropped to his knees on my blanket. I feel my panic starting to rise.

  "Why are you here?" I ask Sage, confused by his presence. He didn't answer. He just grabbed me and started kissing me roughly. He drew blood, and he kissed me that passionately. He gets on top of me and pulls me closer to him as he wraps my legs around his waist, all the time grinding against me.

  "I am here for you." He whispers, pulling himself away from my lips.
