IRISH’s POV

“You are evil! So evil. What are you doing in here?” Becky wasn’t having it. The poor boy was confused. I'd better step in before this whole thing escalates into something bigger.

“Becky, he is not who I thought he was. The thing is, he is a doppelgänger. He looks exactly like my ex-boyfriend. He came over to my room because I called him names and ran away. He came to get some clarification. He is your brother. I am sorry for the whole mix-up.”

Alex’s eyes weren’t having it. They flickered between Becky and me. He looked at me, and I gave him a go-ahead with the flow look.

“I am sorry, I mistook you for his boyfriend,” Becky said, hugging him.

“Idris, I wanted to show you something. I will come back later. Catch you.” With that, she flew away like a butterfly. I'd better lock my door this time.

“Can you at least close your mouth?”

“What just happened, Irish?”

“Idris! It is Idris over here. Nothing serious, just a little mix-up. Now, can you go? I need to take a quick bath.

  • The Girl They Called A Boy   CHAPTER 27

IRISH’S POVThat was Lilly’s voice. Thankfully, Jimmy was fast enough to hide me. He was backing me, and for the first time in my life, I was truly grateful for being petite. But I know Lilly, she’ll still come closer. What will I say? Did she see us kissing?Thinking about it now, I just want to climb on those chairs and knock Jimmy on the head. What exactly was he thinking?“Cockroach, run, Lilly!” Jimmy screamed, making Lilly run out of the room in fear. That was close. He went over, locked the door properly, and dragged me inside where no one could see us.Where exactly is he dragging me? No, no, no, I am not about to pull my trousers down if that’s what he’s thinking.“I missed you, Pumpkin.”I raised my brows. “Pumpkin today, Irish yesterday, Idris tomorrow, choose your struggle.” I folded my arms and looked elsewhere. Seems like my K-drama was about to become a reality.“I’m sorry. I was just jealous. I couldn’t stand the thought of you with another man. The way your mother sai

  • The Girl They Called A Boy   CHAPTER 26

IRISH’s POVI didn’t want to look at Jimmy’s face. Sometimes I wish my mom were an inanimate object; I’d fling her straight into the trash. Couldn’t she read the room?Alex left to attend to other patients. Just then, my mom turned and saw Jimmy still standing in the same spot. She walked over to him like she’d just seen a ghost and pinched him.“You’re human, you’re real. I thought you were an angel that escaped, and I happened to be the only one who could see you.”Just what is wrong with this woman? Why can’t she behave like an adult? Jimmy only smiled at her.“Are you a doctor here?”“No, Ma. I am your daughter’s…”“Friend.” I cut him off immediately. I know my mom, once she finds out we’re dating, things will change drastically, and Jimmy will be her pumping machine, her walking bank, basically.I saw the look on his face, like he was angry at me, but he was too good at masking it.Minutes later, Alex came back, but this time he came with Idris’s medication that would last him fo

  • The Girl They Called A Boy   CHAPTER 25

IRISH’S POVGuessing from the look on his face, Joshua was as surprised as me.“Come in, son. I was just discussing with your brother’s friend here, who just got this beautiful young lady pregnant.”“Idris, Joshua, here is my first son, 32 years old, well-established, successful, no baby mama drama. His younger brother, who happens to be my second and last child, your friend David, is equally following in his footsteps.”Now, I’m confused. Why is he constantly calling David his son? I looked at David, and he gave me the I can explain look. He had better do.“Sit, son.” The uncle tapped the couch, beckoning Joshua to sit, and he obliged. From the look on Joshua’s face, I could tell he was tense.“You see, Idris, I am pro-life. I know you both are adults, but what’s the way forward for this child? Have you had that conversation with your parents? I’m sure they didn’t do a good job with you two.” He smiled. If only he knew. Joke’s on him. While his nephew, or should I say son, was wiping

  • The Girl They Called A Boy   CHAPTER 24

“No way, you have to bring in another person. How am I supposed to act?”I can be everything but definitely not a liar. Did I just say that? Funny, I breathe in and breathe out lies every day ever since I set foot in this college. He was still looking at me with that same pleading look, like a puppy caught in the rain.“You need to stop right now.”“Idris, my uncle, is very tough and strict. If he finds out I’m responsible for the pregnancy, I’ll be forced to start up a family, and you know I am not ready for that.”“You could have thought of that, Dave! What happened to using protection?” I breathed out. I hate being angry.“Fine, just this once. Next time, I won’t wear your shoes.”“Thank you, man! Not to worry, I will ask someone else for help next time.” He was smiling.Does he have another plan of putting someone in a family way again? This boy is crazy.“We leave this weekend.”I shook my head and left.****Sitting down in the cafeteria with Jim felt so awkward today. I couldn’

  • The Girl They Called A Boy   CHAPTER 23

IRISH POVI slowly opened my eyes and stretched my body. Huh… why am I lying down on Jimmy’s bed, under his duvet? I gently raised the duvet, and I was naked. Ain’t wearing anything at all.Just then, the entire event of last night came flooding back like a Netflix recap. I covered my face with both hands. Oh no, Irish. Now he’s going to think I’m a spoiled brat. I think I even moaned out loud when his tongue was between my thighs. I don’t even want to check my clit. I’m certain it’s very reddish; he sucked the life out of it.I was pounded last night. Just when I thought Dave was big, Jimmy happens to be his brother in bigness. Damn! Does he even know that last night was my first time? He was so gentle that I didn’t feel the pain I was expecting. How would I feel it anyway when everywhere was slippery and wet like a snail.Gosh, I’m so embarrassed. Thinking about it all again, that means he saw my tiny breasts, too. That boy sucked me dry. I hope he didn’t suck out my potential brea

  • The Girl They Called A Boy   CHAPTER 22

IRISH POVI need to think fast, she was moving closer to me. “My eyes shall not behold evil.” I quickly blurted out, “I am sorry, I am a Reverend Father.”“Oh no!”She stopped.. In seconds, she scrambled to put on her dress again. I could see the guilt written all over her features. Thank God, she still had some fear of the Almighty in her. She dropped straight to her knees right in front of me.“I am so sorry! I didn’t mean to do that. Father, forgive me, for I have sinned.” Her words spilled out very fast, tears already welling up.I slowly raised my hand and made the sign of the cross over her head, more like how I’d seen real priests do it during Mass. “Your sins are absorbed. Go and sin no more.”Now she was crying harder, clutching her hands like a penitent school child. “Can I talk to you? I mean, you won’t judge me, right?”“Go ahead, my daughter. This is a safe place.”“I don’t know what’s wrong with me. I’m such a sex freak. This week alone, I’ve slept with...” she sniffled
