Syria’s POV

“Syria.”

I froze the moment Uncle called out to me.

"Yes, Uncle?" I asked, trying to keep my voice calm.

He looked at me with stern expression, “From now on, you can leave your room. You’re not grounded anymore.”

I blinked, confused. That was sudden.

“Really?” I asked, unsure if I heard him right.

“Yes,” he replied. He stepped closer and placed his hand on my shoulder, slowly letting it slide down to my arm. The contact made me shiver inside, but I forced myself not to react. I couldn’t let him see how uncomfortable I was. I had to stay composed. I had a plan, and I couldn’t risk ruining it now.

“This is because of our visitor earlier,” he continued. “They reached out to me. This is a perfect opportunity to secure our tribe’s future.”

There it was. The real reason. Just as I expected, he didn’t let me go out because he cared. It was all about status, power, and alliances. That’s all Uncle ever cared about. Wealth, reputation, and making deals for his benefit. Not mine.
