Chapter 10

The Governor's Son Chapter 10

EARLY IN THE MORNING, Don Angelito keeps on exercising to let go of his grief towards the two complainants. However, he keeps on pushing up as he goes down on the floor. Panting.

This day is the day where he will be knowing their judgement. It's not his fault to talk to them the second time. Lotus Medina is generous enough to negotiate.

His sweats are beading all over his muscular and fair body. He looks in the mirror to check his physique—it's perfect. He rests with his breakfast before going inside the comfort room to take a bath.

Angelito wears black attire with his shades as he goes to the parking lot and drives his Maserati. He is calm when driving his vehicle up to the police station. The Don is punctual to go here twenty minutes before they've arrived.

He parks his car outside and waits for the two to arrive. His instinct never betrays him because sooner they come in time. Angelito is keeping his eyes on Denver's cute and fleshy face.

He goes outside and discreetly blends in the crowd to stalk the substitute. Angelito looks exorbitant in many ways because of his old-fashioned clothing.

Maxine and Denver sit down beside the inspector. They've waited for the Don after a few minutes… some police officers bow down in his presence.

The two are dumbfounded when looking at his face. Angelito walks and then stops at the other side—taking off his shades.

"Buenas días," he speaks in Spanish and Medina chuckles. "Please have a comfortable seat, Don Angel."

Denver cannot look in his eyes when he stares because he's so handsome and makes him look poor in many possible ways. Maxine speaks before he opens the conversation, "let us start."

Inspector Lotus opens the file case. "Good morning to the three of you. I am inspector Medina of the complaint desk division. I am the one who is holding your lawsuit against Don Angelito Mar—"

He stops, not mentioning his surname. The Don is calm while listening to his crappy voice.

"The complainant Denver Nervar and Maxine Nervar file the following: fraud, slander and physical harassment against you. We will conduct further investigations in these three cases. We all know filing a case is an expensive thing. We calculate your penalty, Don Angelito, and it's six hundred twelve thousand pesos in total based on the revised penal code of the said three republic act."

Denver is shocked when he realizes this is not going into millions. Angelito gives a wicked chuckle when looking at them.

"Is that so?"

"Yes, and the case will be close if both parties agree with this clause—"

"Where did he get all this money?!" Maxine gives the bag with a hint of disgrace and confusion about his background/

"This bag has two million and four hundred thousand pesos in total. Are you in a syndicate?!" she cannot contain herself to asking a ridiculous question. However, Angelito is silent, not defending himself in such false accusations.

"I can accuse you of false accusation for telling me I'm from a syndicate, Madam." Maxine flinches when Angelito says in a cold but slow manner.

His presence is compelling; even the other police are whispering about the Don.

"So where did you get the money—"

Lotus laughs awkwardly to cool down both parties. "Mrs Nervar, let me introduce Don Angelito. The Don is negotiating about your case because he has made some mistakes, and he doesn't deny the accusations between us. The money is acceptable for you to start again—"

"Are you one of the police who is practising puppetry and corruption?! I don't care about him; I want justice for my only son! "she pestered at him because Maxine is solid when protecting Denver. Moreover, Don Angelito envies his cutie pie in some ways he can't attain.

"I will triple the money inside this bag. Are we done?" Angelito cuts them off. Denver's eyes widen in his line. He feels like dreaming when Angelito sniffs the money inside the bag while taking a cheque.

"W-What are you d-doing?!" She nags.

"Six million would be enough for you to start again. My bad for hurting you, cutie pie," his voice softened. Denver's heartfelt move in his deceiving tricks.

Lotus Medina stands up and makes them sit down. The atmosphere turns intense and heavy when the Don is now bragging about his money and power.

"Where did you get that money? Are you giving money from your victims?" Maxine is confronted, but Angelito is silent while holding a pen. He sighed deeply, letting out his frustration. His patience turns gaunt.

His ashy eyes look at Denver as the other one blushes in hatred with a pinch of particular attractiveness towards the charismatic Don.

"I don't want to explain myself to a person that doesn't like me," he responded with disappointment.

Medina taps the table to stop the argument. "Please respect my presence. Mrs Nervar, this man by your side is a Don…. A billionaire," he whispered.

Her pupils dilated in astonishment. She looks at him, but Angelito is serene.

"He is not stealing money because he has a lot. He is a haciendero with seven haciendas. His offer will be enough for the two of you. Please don't make this big."

Maxine turns mute in a minute. Nevertheless, he is not frightened about his wealth or where the fuck he came from.

"The case will continue; see you in court." She stands up, and Denver terrifyingly goes with his mother like a sheep, but afraid at the near wolf. Don Angelito gives him a cold sneer with a conceited smile to give an indirect and his way of softest warning.

He is afraid for his security since the handsome Don is now itching to do something horrible beyond his imagination.

He is holding the bag that has been taken back to him. It feels like a big slap on his pride and reputation as a respected Don in Aklan.

"It feels like you have crashed in a concrete wall, mi Don Angel," Medina tsked in annoyance. He calls his dad.

"Papá," he calls him with a worried voice.

"Si, mi Hijo?" the governor responded in excitement.

He breathes heavily as his eyes are gazing at Medina. "El caso continuará," he responded bitterly, chewing his lower lip.

Don Pablo is furious when hearing his answer. "Illegar de Nuevo! (Come again!)"

"They rejected my compensation. Dad, you told me to protect my name—"

"Si! Si, mi Hijo! Esta Medina ahí? (Is Medina there?)" Angelito hums and then gives the phone to the inspector to have their private conversation.

He stands up to a corner and faces the wall with a whispering voice.

“Buenas días, gobernador,” he greeted Don Pablo with a frightened aura.

"My son is in trouble, Medina."

"Yes…. Yes… I-I know, Gobernador—"

Don Pablo is angry when hearing his shaking voice. "Enéñales una lección y quién es el jefe (Teach them a lesson and tell who is the boss.)," he said in a severe tone, anytime will explode.

The governor is so scary when speaking a cold and soulless voice. If Angelito is creepy—so does his father.

"Hello?"

"Yes! Yes, Gobernador! I will take care of your handsome son."

Don Pablo grins. "Muy bien. I will count on you, Medina."

The call hangs up, and he goes back to Angelito. He comes closer. "I'll take care with the mother. I know you like the cute boy. I'll leave him in your care, Don Angelito."

He didn't speak as he exited himself. Angelito goes outside to buy a cigarette because of his stress. He doesn't smoke when he is not tense and nervous. It's a sign he is frightened to dig up his past.

On the other side, he sees a familiar face. Denver is buying some bread at the bakeshop without many customers.

He approaches his victim. "Can I buy a Spanish bread, miss?" he utters, and Denver's goosebumps crawl all over his body.

The lady gives him one bread with a blue bill. The one thousand pesos in the Philippines is the most enormous paper bill around the country.

"Don't you have five pesos, sir?"

Angelito whines and doesn't want to waste his saliva. "Keep the change," he utters, then opens the black bag on his back.

He gets two bulks of money, puts them inside the plastic, and then gives them to Denver. His cutie pie is stunned.

He gets his pen and gives his number. Angelito puts it on the plastic too and gestures a call sign.

"Call me if you needed me, cutie pie." He winks before giving a sweet smile. "You might need money since I know your situation. Please forgive me for hurting you; I hope you consider."

He walks away and leaves with his car. Meanwhile, Denver is still frozen with the lady—admiring Angelito's handsomeness.

"Is that your boyfriend?" A quick question shatters his sternness. What he's doing is perilous! The cute boy is straight as his phallus.

"No! No! I don't know him." Denver defended himself as he left the bakeshop with a racing heart. Something terrible is coming.
