Chapter 6

The Governor's Son Chapter 6

In the last two days, Denver panicky goes home and then lock the door. He is so anxious about the one written on his back. He takes off his cloth to go against the mirror.

He sees his reflection, but the letters are tiny to see in this awkward view. Denver brilliantly set a timer on his phone and positioned himself at a good angle to capture the notes on his back.

He takes several photos before getting a good-to-go image. Denver scribbles it on paper until he writes down the last letter of his address.

It's Station Apartment not far away from the LRT station. He blinks twice when absorbing that his place is just one ride from his home.

"What he wants to say?! I will not surrender to send him into jail!" he is still angry with Angelito in every way, but when he is with him—Denver cannot utter a single word because of his charismatic appearance.

He called him cutie pie while inside a car, but his hand was ready to slit his throat. That man is unpredictable and lunatic!

Denver thinks a hundred times since he will wait for him. In these past two days, he has been losing his sleep---thinking about Angelito's opinion about him.

"Son? Do you have something to buy? Where are you going?" Maxine asked him. Denver smiles awkwardly when looking at his pretty mother.

"Ahh…. A friend invited me to their house this afternoon, mama. Can I ask for some allowance?" he is scratching his temple when asking for money.

His mother chuckles, looking at his adorable son. "Of course, but please be careful. People always look at us like a criminal even we prove you're innocent."

There's still a traumatic side for Maxine, she could take all those harsh words towards her, but she cannot take it for Denver. That's why they want to file a case for Angelito and restore his reputation in this judgmental society they're living in.

She takes a plenty amount of money. "Mama?"

"Come on, enjoy yourself too. Let me ask about the status of our lawsuit?" she inquires as Denver sits down.

"Mama, sadly…. Angelito was summoned. B-But don't worry, I will not revoke our complain," he responded, unsure about his voice and emotions.

He breathes heavily when hugging his mother. "I will be back at night, mama. You can eat first, okay? I will now leave, I love you." He kissed her cheeks.

"Take care, son. I love you too," she says and then waves goodbye.

Denver doesn't know what is lying ahead; he only knows that he needs to follow the governor son's order for their safety. He went inside the jeepney and waited for an hour because of the traffic.

Luckily, the traffic is not heavy at Monumento. He goes down at the apartment's premises next to the LRT station's location. Denver cannot understand what he is feeling right now.

His feet take him at the entrance—his knees are wobbling in nervousness.

"Good afternoon, sir. How may I help you?" the front office asked.

Denver goes to her and inquires. "Hello, good afternoon. C-Can I ask if there's a resident here named Angelito?"

The lady looks in the other direction and takes a piece of sticky note from Angelito. She reads it and remembers Angelito ordered to allow a person named Denver Fronda Medina.

"Oh. May I ask what is your name, sir?" she waits for his response, "my name is Denver."

The lady chuckles. "Can I know your full name for the instruction of the occupant?" she makes sure he is the one he said because the Don doesn't give a trace of what they would expect.

They know he is such a precious person and highly valuable one; thus, his security must be tight at all means for the governor's peace.

"My name is Denver Fronda M-Medina, ma'am. I-I'm h-his client before—"

The lady gasped. "Oh! I remember you! You're the one he defended in court. You're so cute in personal… please this way, follow me," Diana requested and went up to the second floor where Angelito's apartment is located.

They heard some noises coming inside his room, and it was unusual for the Don to argue. "Maybe he is quarrelling again with his best friend. I will leave you here, sir Denver. Please knock before entering for the guest's privacy and notice."

The lady left him with a worried heart. He keeps on hearing Angelito's irritated voice with an unknown man's voice, pestering him out. Denver cannot listen to it vividly through the thick walls.

However, he lifts his hand to knock as their chat instantly lower and fades. He is anxiously waiting for the door to open, but when it does…. His heart jumps out when he sees a man looking at him with fierce eyes.

After saying a word—he left in silence. He looks at Angelito that grabs him in an instant and pins him on the wall.

"D-Don't h-hurt me," he stammers in confusion.

Angelito chuckles playfully when seeing his vulnerability. "Such a cutie. Please have a seat and we will talk a little bit."

Fear already consumes his body because the governor's son is so harsh and unpredictable.

"What do you want from me?!" he obnoxiously asked, but Angelito's face is reluctant to look at him, even saying a piece of word.

The Don blends him some coffee as his cutie pie waits on the couch. He is trembling when the apartment is cold, silent and terrifying. He is uneasy when Angelo is around.

On the other hand, he walks up to Denver and gives him a cup of coffee. "Are you trying to poison me?" he frankly asked and reluctantly declined his offer.

Angelito blinks twice because he disregards Don's hospitality. However, he snickers and sips some coffee to show his immaculate concern about his illogical idea. Denver's lips parted when Angelito licked his lips to savour the flavour of his blended coffee.

"See? Did I die… cutie pie—"

"Cut the fuck off! Don't call me cutie pie you piece of shit!"

He makes Angelito smile wide enough.

The Don gets his phone and captures a photo. Denver is startled! "What are you doing?!"

"Just jaded… I'm glad you came to keep me company—"

The cute boy is still uncultured when it comes to etiquette. "Who says I will keep you company—"

Angelito swiftly presses his lips with his index finger. Momentarily silence covers the atmosphere. His face is kind of comic for Angelito; nevertheless, he doesn't want to laugh since Denver is gravely serious.

For sure, Denver will misunderstand his action again. He takes off his finger and even looks at it. "Lunatic!"

"I know. Are you frightened?" Angelito laughs as he gets his lukewarm coffee. He is not happy with it.

"Drink your coffee before it becomes cold," he added and pleasantly requested. Denver's hands are shaking when holding the coffee cup. He is astonished by its taste.

"T-This is g-good," he stutters in surprise.

"Uhm. Please suit yourself before I will go to our formal conversation, cutie pie," he says, and Denver is thirsty, so he drinks it even it's hot. Angelito cannot hide his blissful feeling when someone likes his coffee.

He goes to the fridge to get a water bottle because he will doubt again if he will give something open.

"Do you like it?" he asked intriguingly, excited to hear his response about his flattering facial expression.

"Yes, Angelito."

He chuckles playfully when looking at him. "Then you enjoyed sipping with my lips on," he frankly said because he had drunk with it earlier. The cute boy intently runs to the sink and cleans his mouth.

Angelito Marquez was perplexed by his sudden action. "DISGUSTING!"

Denver is hysterical and clasps his collar. He looks at his tranquil face… not showing any weak points. Angelito's face is so powdery and porcelain-like when up this close.

"That's an indirect kiss if you may… Do you want to kiss me for real?" Denver's hands tremble in disgust of his teasing lines.

"I will now leave if you're saying too many bullshits—"

Angelito laughs again. This is not his usual self, laughing for just some shallow inane bullshits, as Denver said.

"Did you know…. When you file a lawsuit without any concrete evidences and just pure speculations. The police will neglect your request?" He steps gradually—making Denver's footsteps backwards. He cannot understand what he is taking when his eyes dart at him.

"Even so! I will tell them the truth! I will tell to Alexandre Buenavista to send you to jail!" Angelito's happiness faded in an instant when he mentioned his name.

"What did you say?" he coldly asked the poor and frightened cutie.

"Come again? I thought you're obsequious when you've got here. I'm so disappointed in you, Denver Nervar." He leans on the cold wall as Angelito's hand chokes his neck without any emotions available in his eyes.

Denver struggles to breathe when he is pushing his hand. He doesn't care if his nails are burying under his skin with his thumping feet. A few seconds later—his eyes are sweaty, and catching his breath!

"Uhh! A-Angelito," he calls his name even his peristaltic movement struggles.

"I don't like a person who is going against me. Do you understand, Denver?" his chilling voice asks a question in a seemingly lethargic tone. He wants to outrange, but this cutie boy restricts him from doing so.

"Do you understand? Or you will die on this wall—"

"Yes!" he answers swiftly, and Angelito's hand let go. Denver is gasping for air and curling his body on the floor. He is also coughing when breathing heavily.

"HELP!" he shouts, but Angelito tediously looks at him. He goes to his cabinet, and Denver observes him. His eyes widen when the Don is holding a gun in his hand!

He automatically crawls to the door, but Angelito's footsteps on the sole of his right foot, stopping him from crawling. He cocked the gun and pointed at his face.

"Please! I-I w-will—"Angelito doesn't want to hear his excuses as he puts the gun inside his mouth.

"Any last words?"

Denver's tears flow like a river! He is whining while closing his eyes. He is afraid of death—afraid to die at an early age.

Angelito takes it off as he sputters, "spare me! Spare me, please!"

"What will you do if I spare you?"

"I-I will not be going against you!" he cries out loud inside his apartment. Don Angelito smiles enigmatically when he is so terrified, like what he wants with his victims.

His hand pats his head, and Angelito goes to the table then throws the bag. "This amount is enough to silence you. I don't want to hear anything from you. No me dejes perder mi amor por ti (Don't let me lose my love towards you)," Angelito speaks in Spanish even he knows Denver will not be able to understand it.

He nods then stands up. Angelito throws the gun and opens his hand widely. Denver saunters to him. The Don hugs him and taps his back.

"I don't want to lose you, cutie pie. Don't test me to my limits; you will not like when I get angry. Now, leave with that bag and don't open it unless you got home. Do you understand?"

"Y-Yes," he responds, stuttering.

Denver leaves his apartment in panic while crying. Angelito expects that he will be silent and promises himself not to kill an innocent again even though his father wants it.

He wants to change, but change is the only permanent thing in this world—Angelito is torn between his job and ample love for that cute boy.
