The Governor's Son Chapter 5

"YOU DID NOT dispose the cute boy, even he dumped you?" Dennis laughingly asked his best friend that quiet in a corner. Angelito is not expecting him to come in a week or two.

"Yeah… if you look in his eyes—begging for mercy—"

His friend cuts him off. "You're defying your scary father! Oh my goodness, I don't want to see his eyes when angry," Dennis utters in disgrace of his father's true nature.

Angelito keeps on stirring the coffee while watching at his endangered bonsai. There's a wide world for him if he is not tied up in his father's filthy business. Maybe he will be going to Spain and starting a winery or coffee business.

He loves to watch his plants grow well. "Maybe? In no time, inspector Medina will clean a mess or maybe father's minion to move to protect me—without a trace, I'm innocent," he pleaded as Dennis sips his coffee because it's too hot like the words coming out from his mouth.

"We will now be in the field of crime and dirty business. I'm benefiting from your father's work since I've been involve to you… same goes with Sunshine," he responded without any guilt inside his chest. However, Angelito never wants them to be dragged into this world; he wants him and his friends to live like typical young adults.

"Don't be hesitant; it's our choice, not yours, Don. Look my mom said I need to take the exam, but I insisted because I want the three of us get the juris doctor for higher chance of success." Dennis encircled his hands on his neck to comfort him.

His breath crawls on his ears as he whispers, "it's been three years since you have a girlfriend. Don't tell me you're eyeing on that cute boy—"

Don Angelito pushes him. "Don't be ridiculous. I'm just teasing that boy because I know he would be an ally in the future. I'm once an eighteen years old boy… so I know how to dream big and chasing that dream is tiring. Nevertheless, if I have a handsome, powerful and wealthy Don by my side...."

He fixes his shirt then opens some law books. They need to review because they will be more exposed in trial courts when the class starts to open. They need those experiences in real-world scenarios.

"I'm so impressed how your father evade his million taxation. Oh…. You're family is run by a billionaire, so it means his wealth would be tax free. So unfair, but the mere peasants will not absorb financial lessons in real-life."

Dennis is genuinely correct. Angelito twitches a slight smile on his face and crosses his legs—leaning on the soft couch.

"My father's work is a public servant. He has many foundations and charities to support. It would less the taxation, and not to mention he has no other work. He is always gaining in assets with no liabilities."

They both laugh when looking at each other. Such a brilliant man that is being blind by the dazzling world of money and bloodshed.

"So how much did you gain last harvesting season?" Dennis asked in desperation of disclosure of information.

Angelito clears his throat and gestures with his finger in a flash of light. His friend scratches his nape when he won't have a proper glimpse.

Dennis wants him to repeat. However, the Don refuses so.

"Oh crud! I will give you someone to flirt when you tell me—"

"Bastardo! You will ask me for money again if I tell you!" Angelito screams at him. His friend makes a broad smile stretching to his ears.

Dennis clamps his hands to beg for his pardon. "I'm tight today…. Pretty please? I will enrol you by myself because I know how busy you are, boss."

He even kneels on the floor to make the Don impress. "I will kick your face if you will—"Dennis voluntarily puts his foot on his face.

"I will date Sunshine today. Please, Please—"

"UGH! Okay! Twenty-five million worth of pineapples and coffee." His friend is startled when he discloses the information. Dennis covers his mouth when looking at the Don.

"Does Don Pablo take it all?! That's absurd, Angelito!" he asked his friend, but the other one whines in displeasure. His father doesn't take it.

"I give it to Papá," he answers candidly. Dennis' jaw drops on the floor when he just gives away his money.

Angelito doesn't care about it because he has still four out of seven haciendas to get revenue. He is a billionaire at an early age, thanks to his grandparent in Spain. They've secured his future even they didn't know what his actual situation was.

"I don't want that money because even I lay on it. It would not bring my mother back." Angelito exclaimed factual words since he's living in the loneliness of a mother's warmth and guidance.

His best friend feels awful for him. He is right in many ways; his solemn grief doesn't want him to sleep before.

"Don't let that make your guard down. It's all part of your past… I'm sure she is so proud of you just like your father. You will be the most famous lawyer here in the Philippines! Ohh… such a pleasant word to hear," Dennis motivates him to smile; however, he doesn't want to.

His friend goes to the fridge to get some fresh milk when he steps on a heavy bag beneath the table. He puts his mug on the washing area before crouching to open it.

He cannot believe his eyes when there are so many bluebills in bulk hundreds of thousand inside the bag! Dennis holds a piece, but his hand is shivering in fear and excitement about the filthy money.

The Don gazes at him. "W-Why are you putting money inside this unsecured bag?!"

Angelito shrugs his shoulder. "That naughty boy sue me. I guess that amount of money is enough for him to revoke the file case?" he asked his friend's opinion as Dennis wanted to faint.

"H-How much is this, you little shit?!" he stutters to ask the exact amount.

"Two and a half million in total. That money is enough to silence the poor. I don't want him to be in a dreadful situation, and since I knew he is in dire need of money. Maybe when he see that bag—Denver will change his mind," Don Angelito says with confidence.

Dennis instantly puts it back and zips the bag in desperation that Angelito must not show his wealth. "Are you bragging about your wealth?! What if that boy is a fraud too?! He is just using you to gain money by scaring you to taint your name?! What am I to you for you not to seek advise—"

He shuts Dennis' mouth by pressing his lips. He is so loud, and the Don hates it.

"I give him the address last time, maybe two days ago? He even pee on his pants when I put my cold blade on his carotid area," he utters in a harsh tone of voice.

"H-How do you know he pees in fear?" Dennis' brows furrowed by his words. He doesn't have an idea what his friend is now up to. Dennis knew Angelito as a savage person when it came to his work and never saw his father's enemies as his ally.

"Are you telling me that you… you like that brat?! Are you a fucking gay?" Dennis holds his shoulders and shakes his body to wake his soul. Maybe he is dreaming and his shell broken.

"This is my first time seeing you having a transaction with your father's enemy or should I say witnesses! Often Barbie does this kind of work. Let me transact with him to avoid future conflicts. We'll not gamble your name and dignity for just a piece of trash!"

His best friend is starting to get angry because of his irrational decisions. Nevertheless, Angelito is adamant because he sees him as his friend.

There's something with Denver that reminds him of someone he knew before. Moreover, Angelito doesn't want to see this one because he will be ending broken again and continue searching for nothing.

"Angelito… listen to me! When that boy continues the law suit; believe me, he will be six feet on the ground!" he forcefully gritted his teeth in a giggle for his instant decision.

Dennis wants to tug him into his usual self, but his best friend doesn't want to.

"I find him cute. I never feel thrilled in my life since I entered law school, Dennis." He snickers in enthusiasm as his friend's goosebumps starts to crawl on his skin. An eerie sensation hovers all over his body when hearing his odd statement.

"What will your father do if he will find this out? Cut the crap, Angelito!" The Don makes way to put the bag on the table, and they keep on arguing inside the apartment.

"Then I will try him too. I feel my blood is getting excited when he is testing my patience, time and integrity. Do you understand what I mean, Dennis?"

His friend sighed deeply out of his frustration and disappointment. Angelito unzips the bag and then throws him a bulk of money. Dennis immediately freezes on his spot.

He cannot believe his eyes when Angelito coldly throws the money. Money is the root of evil, and the cycle continues. Dennis smiles as if he is a relief.

"Don? I'm so sorry to pestered you, but I need to go my Sunshine is waiting for me—"

Angelito smacks his head to wake him up. "Hijo de puta! Go!" he shouts at him. However, they are both astonished when someone knocks on the door.

Maybe it's the security because they were loud a while ago. Angelito massages his nape to calm down. "Open the door and go with that money. Don't forget to buy me some coffee when you go here or I will plan a silver bullet on your head."

"Y-Yes, Don! I will bid my leave!" he bows down, and then Dennis goes to the door to open it. His forehead wrinkles in confusion when the man outside is kind of familiar.

"Excuse me," Dennis excuses himself and walks silently. Angelito gives a conceited smile when his prediction doesn't betray him at all cost. The face he wants to see appears before his very eyes.

His gleaming pearly white teeth are exposed in a sugary smile. "So you've arrived," he says when strolling up to the door. Denver's body is shuddering in anxiety when seeing his handsome but wicked-looking face.

The Don grabs him inside and locks the door—pinning him on the wall. Denver's lips tremble in fear of his ashy eyes. "D-Don't h-hurt me," he stammers in confusion.

Angelito chuckles playfully when seeing his vulnerability. "Such a cutie. Please have a seat and we will talk a little bit."
