Chapter 60

Aurora’s POV

The elder who told the story leaned forward, her lined face glowing in the firelight.

“You’ve come to the right place, child,” she said. “Strength is not only muscle or claws. Our gift, as omegas, is to bring out what lies hidden. To remind wolves of who they are when they’ve forgotten—or when they’re too afraid to see it themselves.”

A murmur of agreement passed around the circle. The adults’ eyes softened, the children watched with wide-eyed wonder, and Oliver clapped his hands together with boyish enthusiasm.

“Tonight,” the elder continued, “we will help you call your wolf.”

My breath caught. “You… can do that?”

She smiled knowingly. “Not for ourselves—we don’t need to. But for others? Yes. That is what we are meant to do.”

They shifted closer around me, the circle tightening. The fire blazed higher, fed with herbs someone tossed into the flames, and the air filled with a sharp, earthy scent. The adults began to hum low, steady notes that thr

Chapter 59 Aurora POV I left the training ground, Cassidy’s words echoing in my head—you can explore the whole castle if you want. For a moment, I thought about resting. Then my thoughts wandered to the omega territory. Cassidy had once said she sometimes checked on them, but I knew it wasn’t always safe. Too many unfamiliar faces, too many people who might be harsh. Still, curiosity tugged at me. And then I remembered Oliver. Oliver was different. Oliver was kind. It’s better to pay him a visit, I thought. Climbing onto the horse was a struggle, but the guards helped me up. Once I got the reins in hand, I surprised myself—I remembered the way Cassidy had ridden last time and managed to guide the horse on my own. A little wobbly, but I made it. By the time I reached the omega territory, I felt oddly proud of myself. Dismounting wasn’t graceful—I nearly slipped—but I landed with both feet on the ground. The air here was different, quieter, but the people… they weren’t what I expe

Chapter 58 Liam’s POV I dragged a hand down my face, breath uneven as the memory faded, but the ache in my chest didn’t. My bedchamber was quiet now, but in my ears I still heard the echoes of children crying, guards restraining us, and the sound of the great doors slamming shut behind her. That was the last time I had seen her. Until today. I leaned back against the headboard, staring up at the carved ceiling beams. My fists trembled in my lap. For years, I told myself I hated her—for leaving, for never coming back, for letting us carry the shame of being “the sons of the banished Luna.” For years, I believed Father’s words—that she was selfish, that she wanted power more than she wanted us. But now… she had stood in front of me. Warm. Alive. Smiling through tears. She had called me her baby again, just like before. And I had believed her. The necklace. The excuses. The secrecy. None of it mattered when I looked at her. Because for the first time in so long, I had felt

Chapter 57 Lucious POV I couldn’t believe it. She’s back. After all these years. As I stormed into my chambers, Bella followed close behind, her voice calm but her eyes worried. “She was banished,” she said firmly, staring straight into my eyes. “No, you don’t get it!” My voice cracked with fury. “That doesn’t matter! The same way she came back checking up on Liam—she should have done that years ago! She was banished, yes, but she never even thought to look back at her kids. Why now, Bella? Why not then?” “She probably had her reasons, Lucious,” Bella said softly. “No… no!” I shouted, the pain ripping through my chest. “A mother doesn’t just leave her kids and forget them in the name of banishment! No! No!” My voice echoed in the walls, broken and raw. Bella caught me, pulling me close before I could unravel further. “You need to rest, babe. You need to calm down. She’s back now. She’s back.” “No… I missed her. When I was young, they mocked me. They still whisper abo

Chapter 56 Aurora’s POV I stood where Liam had told me to, far enough that I shouldn’t have been able to hear a thing. My arms crossed, my foot tapping, I wondered what was so important that they needed me out of earshot. From the looks on their faces, something serious was happening. Then Lucious’s voice cut through the distance. “I want to see her now.” My eyes widened. Wait… I heard that? From all the way here? I whispered to myself, a rush of excitement rising in my chest. I did it! I can actually hear that far now! For a second, joy bubbled inside me. Then reality tugged me back—who did Lucious want to see so badly? I watched him. His face was pale, devastated, and Bella clung to his arm to steady him. Liam’s expression stayed controlled as always. His voice carried when he told Lucious softly, “She’s gone for now. She’ll come back again. She loves you and misses you.” Lucious’s head snapped up, eyes burning. “Why now?! Why is she back now?” His voice cracked, anger tangled

  • The Half-Life of a Werewolf   When Lucious heard

Chapter 55 Liam’s POV “So why are you here now?” I asked before I could stop myself. The question came out harsher than I’d meant—years of silence pressed into it. “Why now? Why couldn’t you come sooner?” She lowered her eyes, fingers absently twisting the small garland at her throat. When she looked up, there was no performative guilt—just tiredness and a strange, steady warmth. “When I was banished,” she said quietly, “a few packs took me in. They told me to lie low, to wait, to find a way back that wouldn’t endanger you and Lucious. I wanted you both to live your lives properly—without me creeping back like some ghost.” She paused, gathering herself. “I’ve been planning. I wanted a way to come back and stay. When you’re ready—you are old enough to be the Alpha now—you’ll be able to lift the sentence.” I tightened my hands into fists at her words. The thought of her plotting anything felt absurd and impossible, so I let it pass. Her next words were softer, almost childlike.
