The morning sun had barely risen over the eastern mountains, but the Citadel’s training grounds already glowed with warm light.

It was peaceful, deceptively so. The kind of morning that made things feel simple again.

Ronan stood at the center of the field, sleeves rolled to his elbows.

“Again,” he said, calm but firm.

Kael and Talia stood a few paces apart, barefoot, steadying themselves on the ground. They were only five. So small, so new to the world. And yet… far from ordinary.
