CHAPTER VII: The Truth

The sun rose to a new day, and Alise had been awake. Usually, she would be asleep until afternoon, though she wasn’t like this back then. There was nothing to do in the mansion, and Alise thought being this lazy was fine.

During the past few days, she did her best to leave her room at least twice or thrice for lunch and dinner. Then, most of the time, she stays in her room, scrolling through her phone or watching movies from the television.

It was a good thing there was a television in her room since Alise loved watching movies. One of her favorite movies was Angels and Demons, featuring Tom Hanks.

“Alise! Are you awake?” Kevin asked behind the door.

“I am. Is there anything you need from me?”

“I do. Your father is here.”

“M-my father?” She stuttered.
