"Alex.." His name fell out of my lips on its own, and a strange relief flooded within me. The fear that'd strangled me, vanished in thin air.

The sight of him alone made me feel safe and secure even though it was not how it was supposed to be. How could I feel secure with the one whose only intention was to hurt me?

He looked at me, his eyes softening for a brief moment but then when David let out a groan in pain, all I could see was the very familiar dark eyes of Alex and the flames of the wrath that was capable of destroying everything in a matter of a second.

"David” Alex called, his brows rising as if he was just acknowledging his presence.

He stepped closer to David who still hadn't managed to get himself off the ground.
