Chapter 36: Mates Apart

I sit down and go through the last papers on my desk that will finalize the preparations for our final merger. I am happy to see everything working out smoothly. My father's properties cover a large amount of land that was left without care for a long time, and I had to fight to get them back after so many legal issues. I am glad I was back in time before the government took all of it.

Xavier walks in, bringing me a few letters and I inspect them, some bills, and some brochures that I quickly discard. He sits in the opposite chair and goes through the papers I just signed, splitting them into piles based on importance. I look at him as I think about what Sienna told me; he looks normal to me, like nothing worries him.

Soon enough, Sienna knocks on the door and walks in. I lift my eyes to meet hers and smile. She greets us both. "Good morning, gentlemen," she says as she nods at Xavier and walks to me.

I quickly stand up to wrap my arms around her, kissing her lips tenderly.
