There was something about this Amira girl that Willow couldn't help relating to. Perhaps it was the relation to the Supernatural world, or that their partners had Supernatural capabilites. Maybe it was something in regards to their pasts. Even with different upbringings, Willow felt the sorrow that was contained deep within Amira's heart.
