My thoughts were clear and I actually felt better than I had felt in a while, even before the mark. It was like the mark energized me even. I felt stronger, more powerful. Different. I couldn’t explain it. My barrage of feelings must have woken Damien up because he sat up and asked me how I was feeling. “Great, I’m feeling great, actually. It’s the weirdest thing, I feel powerful and strong. I don’t know, I guess it's the mark?” I said. He could feel my apprehension. “This is all new to me too, doll. I’m so glad you're feeling better.” He said. “Me too. “What time is it?” I asked him. “11:15am.” He replied. I tried to keep my panic to myself because I knew he would feel it, but it didn’t work at all. “What? Why are you stressed? What is going on?” He asked. I could feel his worry as he spoke. “Nothing, I am just stressed because I spent the past day and a half almost dying. I have wasted a lot of time and I have work to do.” I said, hoping that would suffice.
