Chapter 5

He quickly paid for lunch, how considerate of him. He was obviously in a hurry to attempt to murder me. I rolled my eyes to myself as we walked out of the restaurant, and he started walking towards his car. “Hey, why don't you let me drive?” I asked. He looked at me with a confused look on his face, as if I had said something completely foreign to him. In all reality I just threw a wrench in his plan. I’m sure he had the perfect place to take me, but I think the place I have planned is better. “I know of a cool place close to here that we can go to. I saw it on the map on the way here. I will bring you back when we are done." I said, with a wink. He sucked in a breath and nodded, following me to the back of the building. "Jarvis, bring the car to my location." I said. "Yes ma'am." Jarvis replied and I could hear my car start from across the parking lot. The sound of those horses gave me goosebumps. I had always loved sports cars, ever since I was a kid. My car pulled up and both lambo doors opened. I hopped in my side and the blonde hopped in the passenger side. I clicked the button to lower our doors. "Jarvis, take me to Governors Park." I said. "Your wish is my command ma'am." Jarvis replied, and we headed that way.

"So what do you do for a living to be able to afford this car?" The leech asked me. I thought for a moment of the many lies I could tell that could afford me luxuries such as this, but settled for one that I knew would rack his nerves a little, I needed him to second guess himself and be off his normal game. "I'm a big game hunter." I said, and I wasn't even lying this time. The only thing is, the game was him. Before he could ask another question he was interrupted by Jarvis. "We have arrived ma'am." I could tell he was a bit nervous now, and that was exactly what I wanted. He still had no idea what I really did, but I didn't want him to figure it out and kill me before I could get him where I wanted him. I figured I should calm his mind some now. We got out of the car and started walking down the pathway. "Last year I went to Africa and took down a giraffe, I had it stuffed and it sits in my entryway." I said, hoping to calm him down a little. I grabbed his hand to read his thoughts. He was laughing in his mind because he actually thought I might be a Hunter for a minute, but my giraffe story mostly eased his mind. He thought it could be a lie though. Luckily for him it wasn't.

"Jarvis, show me my entryway camera." I said. "Yes ma'am." He replied and the camera showed on my phone. Sure enough, the giraffe I did in fact kill while visiting Africa, was stuffed, standing tall and proud in my huge entryway. "See, isn't it cool?" I said proudly showing off my kill as if it were a trophy. Though in essence it was, just like he would be soon. "Actually that is really cool, damn." He said. I smiled and turned my phone screen off. Mission accomplished, his mind was calm once again. That's part of the fun you know, the mind games and all. We had walked pretty far into the treeline at this point and no one else was around us. He stopped and turned to me, I still had his hand so I knew what he was about to do." You are amazing, you know that?" He purred, and slowly backed me up against the nearest tree, taking my face in his hand before pressing his lips to mine. I smiled against his lips, this was perfect. Our lips moved together like they were made for each other and I started toying with the buttons of his shirt. He slowly unbuttoned them and removed his shirt, tossing it to the ground by our feet. I tossed my phone onto his shirt so I didn't have to hold it any longer and pulled him closer. He kept his eyes closed and I knew it was because he didn't want me to see that they had turned blood red.

I moaned against his lips and he kept his eyes closed but started peppering kisses down my jaw and onto my throat. He was debating if he should have sex with me first, then drink from me, or just bite me now and say fuck it. In the meantime I had maneuvered us so his back was up against the tree now, giving me better leverage for my knife. His thoughts changed to sex first and he kept kissing my neck. "Aren't you going to bite me?" I purred, and his thoughts instantly became jumbled, he was confused and flustered, giving me just enough time to unsheath my blade and drive it straight into his chest. He made a gurgling sound and tried to grab the knife but it was too late. The silver had already penetrated his heart and he was slowly dying. He slid back down against the tree Into a sitting position and I kept my grasp on my knife. "You filthy fucking leech. This will teach you to lie and manipulate women. You will never hurt another woman again." I spat, and I waited until his eyes went dark before I removed my blade from his chest.

I grabbed his shirt that was by our feet and used it to wipe my hands and blade clean. I wasn't on his lap this time so the blood didn't get on my dress. "Piece of shit." I said out loud, as I stood and regained my composure. I sighed. "392, mom. That's a total of 392 leeches eradicated from this world. All for you." I said out loud. I was the only one who knew my true kill count. Sure I loved my contract kills, they were always more fun, but who was I to turn down an opportunity to kill one of these leeches when he so easily threw himself right in my lap? My thoughts exactly. I couldn't turn down the opportunity, and it seemed to present itself often as we can see. I took his wedding ring off his finger and stuck it in the pocket of my sheath, along with my knife. Then I headed back down the trail, leaving his dead body to rot in the forest. "Jarvis, ready the car I'm heading back." I said. "As you wish, ma'am." He replied. I got back to my car in time to see my lambo door open for me. I sat down and pressed the button to close the door. "Jarvis, continue on our journey to The Academy in Maine." I said. "We are already on our way, ma'am." He replied, as the car left the park and headed back towards town.

I didn't realize it, but we had only driven about two hours before I stopped for gas. I took an hour at the gym and another probably two hours dealing with the leech. It was actually only about ten hours total drive to Maine. That means I still had about 8 hours left until I got to The Academy. Fuck it, I thought. I may as well drive straight through, only stopping for gas and I can get food there. The sooner I get to The Academy, the sooner I can settle in. I was hoping to have both kills done by the end of the ball, but we will see how that turns out. "Jarvis, change of plans. I want to drive straight through, only stopping for gas." I said. As you wish, ma'am." He replied. I leaned my seat back and looked down at my phone to see that I had a text. What, how? No one texts me. I opened it.

'Hope you're having fun, made it to Maine yet?' - Xavier.

I rolled my eyes. Of course it was Xavier. I hit reply.

'I'm 8 hours out, the fun has yet to begin.' I replied.

'Keep me informed, I'm always down for a good contract checkmate story.' He replied.

'We will see.' I replied back with a wink emoji.

He didn't reply after that, and that was just fine because I had an eventful day, and wanted to relax for a bit. I soon dozed off and got lost in my dreams. I found myself on another contract kill. This kill had no name, he was also a ghost, in essence. I hadn't made skin contact with him yet, I was just letting him court me. He was exceedingly good at it. I assumed he had done this plenty of times, probably to all the women he had killed before me. I reached up and touched his hand playfully but his mind was blank, I couldn’t read it. It was as if he had no thoughts, nothing going through his mind. I was confused, I had never encountered a leech such as this. It made me wonder what types of powers he had, if he could block me from reading his mind. In that moment, I realized just how much I rely on my power to be able to complete these contracts. I started to panic inside, not showing it on the outside at all. I couldn’t let him know I was uneasy. I was completely lost outside of my element with no inkling of what he may or may not do. I was supposed to be Hunting him, not the other way around, but I was feeling hunted now. I turned to look for an exit but it was too late, he sunk his fangs straight into my neck.
