Chapter 4
I have no idea how long it had been that we had been driving, but Jarvis informed me that we were low on gas and needed to fuel up. So we pulled into the closest Maverik. I started the fuel and then walked inside to grab something to eat. Gas station food wasn’t that healthy, but luckily Maverik had salads and other relatively healthy options. I opted for some boiled eggs, a cobb salad and some string cheese. On the way out I noticed a Vasa gym across the street. “Jarvis, it’s time for a pit stop, take me to that Vasa right there.” I said. “As you wish ma’am.” He replied, and we drove over there. I got out of my car and walked to my trunk, clicking the button on my keys to open it. I had a duffel bag full of clothes and shoes, accessories, just things I may need when I can't get to The Academy. I had a pair of yoga high waisted shorts and a sports bra, both black of course. I grabbed those and a pair of socks with my running shoes. I placed them into a smaller bag I had in the trunk and headed inside the gym. “Welcome,” the guy at the front desk said as I scanned my membership pass and headed to the changing rooms. I changed, placing my other clothes and my knife in the bag and throwing it all into a locker.
The workout was not extreme, but just some cardio and weights. I just needed to keep myself busy. I had been cooped up in my car for god knows how long and I was really wanting to stretch my muscles. There was a gym at The Academy and I realized I should have just used it before I left, but I wasn't thinking about it at the time. I can't wear my gloves here because I can't get a grip on the weights with them on. So I have to be careful not to brush past anyone or touch anyone if I don't want to hear their thoughts. I was doing good until I was about to leave and an attractive man with blonde hair, silver eyes, and large muscles slammed right into me when I wasn't looking. I instinctively reached out and grabbed onto his arms to steady myself, regretting it instantly. He was a fucking blood sucker. His thoughts rushed through my mind like a fucking tidal wave. He wanted to know how my blood tasted and planned to ask me out, so he could suck me dry and leave my bloodless body in an alley somewhere. I held my composure at his disturbing thoughts and I acted like I hadn't heard them at all.
"Oh my god, I am so sorry." I said, in my best innocent voice as I looked up and locked eyes with him. I hid my repulsion now that I knew what he was and tried to act interested in him. Vampires were actually really good at blending in with regular Humans, and there were times when the naked eye couldn't tell them apart. Luckily I had my gift to help me out. "Oh no darlin I'm at fault here, I wasn't looking at all. Are you ok?" He asked, faking concern for my wellbeing when he planned to murder me later. "I'm fine, thank you." I said, with a flirty smile. I tried to turn and walk away but just like I knew he would, he stopped me. "Let me make it up to you, darlin. You wouldn't want to do dinner later would you?" He asked. I faked surprise at his question. I decided then that it was on. This motherfucker thought about murdering me? He has no fucking idea who’s hes even talking to. "I'm sorry, I'm actually just passing through, but I'm free right now. Did you want to maybe grab lunch?" I asked him. His eyes lit up, and I reached my hand out to touch his arm playfully so I could get a read on his thoughts. He was going to cancel his lunch with his wife… Wait, he was married? A Vampire that had a Human marriage? Now that is something strange to me. Makes me wonder if he's been hiding it this entire time. What a fucking creep. Did I ever say how much I hate Vampires?
I faked like I didn't hear his disgusting thoughts of what he was going to do to me before he killed me, even though he was clearly married. "Yea that would be fine, I'm free all afternoon." He said, with a charming smile. "Great, where did you have in mind? I'm not from here so I'm not familiar with this area." I said, innocently. "Meet me at URBN Express in a half hour, if that works?" He said. "Sure, I'm going to shower and change and then I'll see you there." I said, with a playful smile. We parted ways and my blood was absolutely boiling. I got to the showers and discarded my workout clothes, stepping Into the warm water. What a fucking asshole, oh my god, I thought. I silently fumed while I washed up and wrapped a towel around myself, then headed towards my locker. I got my phone out. "Jarvis, we have a change of plans, I have a lunch date." I said to my phone. "Yes ma'am, will there be a contract involved?" Jarvis replied. "No, Jarvis, there will not be." I replied, with a wicked smirk. "I will ready your car, ma'am." Jarvis replied. I know he's just an artificial intelligence but he never asks dumb questions or tries to talk me out of things, and that's what I love about him the most. I got dressed and towel dried my hair the best I could, braiding it down the front on the right side. That should keep it out of the way. I stuffed my gym clothes in my duffel bag and headed out of the gym.
Jarvis had pulled my car around to the front already and was waiting for me with the driver's side lambo door open. I walked to the trunk and put my duffel bag inside, and then got in my car. “Jarvis, navigate me to URBN Express." I said. "Yes ma'am." Jarvis replied, and I watched the navigation on my dash lock onto the location as we started pulling out of the gym parking lot. I checked that I had my knife, unfortunately I had to take it off while at the gym. But I definitely should get a different holster for when I'm there. Something that can hide it under my shorts, maybe in my waistband. I would look into that later though. I had put it back on under my dress and it was holding steady, as usual. I was going to need it here soon. I just hoped that leech didn't waste much more of my time. Honestly if he were human and didn't have those thoughts about sucking me dry I would have left his ass alone. But I can't let scum like him continue to harm women. I know he's done it before, probably multiple times. He was too quick to think it, for this to have been his first time. I was shaken from my thoughts as we entered the parking lot.
“We have arrived, ma'am." Jarvis said. I looked around for a second and saw the blonde man get out of his car and walk up to the railing by the front door. I clicked the button on my keys to open my door and watched as I caught the attention of the man, along with everyone else around us. I walked over to him where he met me halfway, and I noticed that some asshole had pulled in right next to my car and parked way to fucking close. "I'm sorry, give me a second please." I said to the blonde, and I opened the screen on my phone. "Jarvis, move my car away from this busy parking lot. I will call you when I need you to bring it back around." I said. "As you wish, ma'am." Jarvis replied and I heard my car start. I listened to those horses purr while Jarvis removed my car from the busy parking lot in favor of a less crowded area. I turned back to the blonde. "Now where were we?" I said with a smile. He just looked at me with wide eyes. "Now that is some fancy shit, you have got to tell me where I can get one of those." He said, with a laugh. "One of what? The car or Jarvis?" I said, with a chuckle. "I'll take both, and how about the woman that owns them?" He said, and we locked eyes. I hid the expression I wanted to show due to my repulsive thoughts regarding him. This mother fucker was married, and a fucking leech who hurt women. How dare he talk to me like that. Keep your damn cool, Snow. Jesus fuck, I thought.
“Lunch first, and then we can play." I said, shooting him a small wink. This better not take that fucking long. I needed to kill him and get back on the road. The Vanderwood twins were waiting, even if they didn't know it yet. I ordered a salad and he ordered a burger. He made small talk, asking me about my life, where I was from, and my family. I made up lies because I knew he would never see me again, so why not? When I asked him the same questions he completely lied to me. I had already heard his thoughts, and he definitely was lying to me. Seems that lying was his forte. "How about we get out of here?" I said seductively and reached for his hand lying mine on top of his softly. His thoughts went straight to sex, then draining me of all my blood. Perfect, that's exactly what I was hoping for. Like I said, lust or bloodlust, these leeches only have two track minds.
Chapter 5He quickly paid for lunch, how considerate of him. He was obviously in a hurry to attempt to murder me. I rolled my eyes to myself as we walked out of the restaurant, and he started walking towards his car. “Hey, why don't you let me drive?” I asked. He looked at me with a confused look on his face, as if I had said something completely foreign to him. In all reality I just threw a wrench in his plan. I’m sure he had the perfect place to take me, but I think the place I have planned is better. “I know of a cool place close to here that we can go to. I saw it on the map on the way here. I will bring you back when we are done." I said, with a wink. He sucked in a breath and nodded, following me to the back of the building. "Jarvis, bring the car to my location." I said. "Yes ma'am." Jarvis replied and I could hear my car start from across the parking lot. The sound of those horses gave me goosebumps. I had always loved sports cars, ever since I was a kid. My car pulled up and
Chapter 6I shot up from my sleep, covered in a thin layer of sweat. “Ma’am, your heart rate is elevated, are you ok?” Jarvis purred through the speakers in my car. Just the sound of his voice calmed me down, it helped me come back to reality. “Yes Jarvis, thank you.” I said, and adjusted my seat so I was sitting up. It was dark and we were on a thin stretch of road with no other traffic. I rubbed my hands on my face for a moment trying to shake the feeling of that leeches fangs inside my neck. I ran my fingers across the area where the bandage was from my kill earlier. I was surprised that the leech I just killed hadn't asked about it. I guess it was a little lower on my neck, but it was definitely visible. He must have thought it was rude to ask and didn't bother. How kind of him, ha. I thought, with a snort. I peeled the bandage off and pulled my rearview mirror down to look at the mark. It actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Once I get to The Academy I could use their
Chapter 7I grabbed my phone and winced at the pain in my shoulder, which I realized was still bleeding. “Jarvis, please bring the car to my location.” I said. “Of course, ma’am.” He said back, and I could hear my car start and head my way. He pulled up and my driver's side lambo door opened. There was no way I was getting in my car covered in blood and still bleeding. Do you know how hard it is to get blood out of my upholstery? Yea, not doing that again. I clicked the trunk button on my keys and walked back to the trunk, setting my guns and knife on top of my smaller gym bag. I opened my duffel bag and pulled out a small medical kit. I grabbed some gauze and pressed it on my wound, applying pressure for a bit until the bleeding calmed down. Then I got some salve that The Academy provided and put it on the bite mark, covering it with a clean set of gauze and using an ace bandage to wrap it on my shoulder. Then I pulled out another black dress, carefully setting it aside so it didn’t
Chapter 8I headed inside and noted that this Academy was very similar to the one in Pennsylvania decor wise, but it was much larger. There were two front desks on this one, and even at this early morning hour there were other hunters checking in. I knew Maine was a contract hotspot but I had never ventured this far before. I never had the opportunity or really needed to until now. I walked up and got in line at the far right front desk, waiting to check in. Someone walking by me ended up brushing against my arm, but luckily I still had my gloves on from earlier, so I didn’t get any reads on his mind. Honestly it was a curse more than a gift. Always knowing what was on people's minds was exhausting. As much as I loved it, and used it to my advantage when Hunting, I wish I could turn it on and off at will. It would be so nice to just have skin contact with someone and be completely in the dark about what they were thinking. My mind was racing and I didn’t even realize it was my turn ne
Chapter 9If I thought I turned heads on a normal basis, you should have seen the neck breaking that was going on right now as I walked through the halls of The Academy. It was a lot busier than when I originally arrived and I definitely was causing a scene. Good, my outfit was having the intended effect. I needed it too so I could ensure my kills tonight. The better I looked, the easier it would be to seduce those twins. "Jarvis, bring the car around." I said knowing full well that I would need the keys from the valet still. I walked out the doors and over to the valet who was a young boy with dark brown hair and eager eyes. "Snow, here, let me get your car." He said, as he went into the booth to grab my keys. "I just need the keys, kid." I said, as my car pulled up and stopped right in front of us. I winked at the kid whose jaw was sitting on the floor, and then pressed the button to open my lambo door, stepping inside. “Jarvis, take me to the Vanderwood ball.” I said. “Yes Ma’am.”
Chapter 10I reciprocated his kiss, acting like I was interested by threading my hand through his soft blonde hair. He pulled away briefly to look into my eyes. “You are so fucking beautfiul.” He growled, and continued to kiss me as he pushed me towards the bed. Once we got there I realized the other brother, who I assumed was Joshua, was waiting for us. James pushed me onto the bed and straight into Joshua's arms. He grabbed me and positioned me onto his lap straddling him. I knew this was to better the position for the bite that he was sure to give me here soon. He smashed his lips into mine picking up where his brother left off. His thoughts had completely shifted, which made me realize just how maniacal his mind really was. He was planning on keeping me locked up in his secret dungeon that was behind his bookcase. This way he could take me anytime he chooses. I was repulsed, fucking leech! Ugh, but I acted like I didn’t hear his thoughts of course, and deepened our kiss. I felt Ja
Chapter 11I spotted a Vampire with a tray of blood and grabbed a glass from it as he walked by, pretending to take a drink of the warm liquid. It baffles me how they can drink this shit. I mean I know they are Vampires so they have too, but jesus christ. Just having the blood I had in my own mouth earlier was gag worthy. It was like having a mouthful of pennies. I smiled and laughed as I I walked through the crowd towards the front door I originally came through. I set my glass of blood on a tray as the Vampire holding it walked by, and I continued on my journey to the entryway. I was in the homestretch, probably 20 feet away from the door, when a very attractive Vampire, with short onyx locks and the most neon green eyes I had ever seen, stepped in front of me. He held out his hand. “Would you do me the honor?” He purred. It was then that I realized there was a slow song starting and the realization hit me that he wanted to dance. Jesus fuck, I was almost to the door… I honestly did
Chapter 12For a moment I forgot why I was even at the Vanderwood ball. “Jarvis, call Shadow.” I said, while fumbling through my holster for the two rings I had collected from the twins. Within seconds Shadow appeared on my screen. “Checkmate.” I said with a grin, and I lifted the two rings up so he could see. He smiled back at me. “Well done, Snow. Well done. I didn’t have a doubt that you would complete this task. The funds will be in your account within 24 hours.” He said, and then closed the call. I checked out the rings now that I had some time. They were identical rings, both sporting what looked like a family crest with large J’s in the middle. I grabbed the wooden box from my jockey box and opened it, placing them inside with the rest of my trinkets, before carefully placing the box back in its rightful place, safe and sound. I leaned my head back against my seat and my mind wandered to Damien. For the first time in all these years I had been hunting, never had I encountered a
