I have no idea how long it had been that we had been driving, but Jarvis informed me that we were low on gas and needed to fuel up. So we pulled into the closest Maverik. I started the fuel and then walked inside to grab something to eat. Gas station food wasn’t that healthy, but luckily Maverik had salads and other relatively healthy options.

I opted for some boiled eggs, a cobb salad and some string cheese. On the way out I noticed a Vasa gym across the street. “Jarvis, it’s time for a pit stop, take me to that Vasa right there.” I said. “As you wish ma’am.” He replied, and we drove over there. I got out of my car and walked to my trunk, clicking the button on my keys to open it.

I had a duffel bag full of clothes and shoes, accessories, just things I may need when I can't get to The Academy. I had a pair of yoga high waisted shorts and a sports bra, both black of course. I grabbed those and a pair of socks with my running shoes.

I placed them into a smaller bag I had in the trunk and headed inside the gym. “Welcome,” the guy at the front desk said as I scanned my membership pass and headed to the changing rooms. I changed, placing my other clothes and my knife in the bag and throwing it all into a locker.

The workout was not extreme, but just some cardio and weights. I just needed to keep myself busy. I had been cooped up in my car for god knows how long and I was really wanting to stretch my muscles. There was a gym at The Academy and I realized I should have just used it before I left, but I wasn't thinking about it at the time.

I can't wear my gloves here because I can't get a grip on the weights with them on. So I have to be careful not to brush past anyone or touch anyone if I don't want to hear their thoughts. I was doing good until I was about to leave and an attractive man with blonde hair, silver eyes, and large muscles slammed right into me when I wasn't looking.

I instinctively reached out and grabbed onto his arms to steady myself, regretting it instantly. He was a fucking blood sucker. His thoughts rushed through my mind like a fucking tidal wave. He wanted to know how my blood tasted and planned to ask me out, so he could suck me dry and leave my bloodless body in an alley somewhere. I held my composure at his disturbing thoughts and I acted like I hadn't heard them at all.

"Oh my god, I am so sorry." I said, in my best innocent voice as I looked up and locked eyes with him. I hid my repulsion now that I knew what he was and tried to act interested in him. Vampires were actually really good at blending in with regular Humans, and there were times when the naked eye couldn't tell them apart. Luckily, I had my gift to help me out.

"Oh no darlin I'm at fault here, I wasn't looking at all. Are you ok?" He asked, faking concern for my well being when he planned to murder me later. "I'm fine, thank you." I said, with a flirty smile. I tried to turn and walk away but just like I knew he would, he stopped me.

"Let me make it up to you, darlin. You wouldn't want to do dinner later would you?" He asked. I faked surprise at his question. I decided then that it was on. This motherfucker thought about murdering me? He has no fucking idea who he’s even talking to. "I'm sorry, I'm actually just passing through, but I'm free right now. Did you want to maybe grab lunch?" I asked him.

His eyes lit up, and I reached my hand out to touch his arm playfully so I could get a read on his thoughts. He was going to cancel his lunch with his wife… Wait, he was married? A Vampire that had a Human marriage? Now that is something strange to me. Makes me wonder if he's been hiding it this entire time. What a fucking creep. Did I ever say how much I hate Vampires?

I faked like I didn't hear his disgusting thoughts of what he was going to do to me before he killed me, even though he was clearly married. "Yea, that would be fine, I'm free all afternoon." He said, with a charming smile. "Great, where did you have in mind? I'm not from here so I'm not familiar with this area." I said, innocently.

"Meet me at URBN Express in a half hour, if that works?" He said. "Sure, I'm going to shower and change and then I'll see you there." I said, with a playful smile. We parted ways and my blood was absolutely boiling.

I got to the showers and discarded my workout clothes, stepping Into the warm water. What a fucking asshole, oh my god, I thought. I silently fumed while I washed up and wrapped a towel around myself, then headed towards my locker.

I got my phone out. "Jarvis, we have a change of plans, I have a lunch date." I said to my phone. "Yes ma'am, will there be a contract involved?" Jarvis replied. "No, Jarvis, there will not be." I replied, with a wicked smirk. "I will ready your car, ma'am." Jarvis replied.

I know he's just an artificial intelligence but he never asks dumb questions or tries to talk me out of things, and that's what I love about him the most. I got dressed and towel dried my hair the best I could, braiding it down the front on the right side. That should keep it out of the way. I stuffed my gym clothes in my duffel bag and headed out of the gym.

Jarvis had pulled my car around to the front already and was waiting for me with the driver's side lambo door open. I walked to the trunk and put my duffel bag inside, and then got in my car. “Jarvis, navigate me to URBN Express." I said. "Yes ma'am." Jarvis replied, and I watched the navigation on my dash lock onto the location as we started pulling out of the gym parking lot.

I checked that I had my knife, unfortunately I had to take it off while at the gym. But I definitely should get a different holster for when I'm there. Something that can hide it under my shorts, maybe in my waistband. I would look into that later though.

I put it back on under my dress and it was holding steady, as usual. I was going to need it here soon. I just hoped that leech didn't waste much more of my time. Honestly if he were Human and didn't have those thoughts about sucking me dry I would have left his ass alone. But I can't let scum like him continue to harm women. I know he's done it before, probably multiple times. He was too quick to think it, for this to have been his first time.

I was shaken from my thoughts as we entered the parking lot. “We have arrived, ma'am." Jarvis said. I looked around for a second and saw the blonde man get out of his car and walk up to the railing by the front door. I clicked the button on my keys to open my door and watched as I caught the attention of the man, along with everyone else around us.

I walked over to him where he met me halfway, and I noticed that some asshole had pulled in right next to my car and parked way to fucking close. "I'm sorry, give me a second please." I said to the blonde, and I opened the screen on my phone. "Jarvis, move my car away from this busy parking lot. I will call you when I need you to bring it back around." I said. "As you wish, ma'am." Jarvis replied and I heard my car start.

I listened to those horses purr while Jarvis removed my car from the busy parking lot in favor of a less crowded area. I turned back to the blonde. "Now where were we?" I said with a smile. He just looked at me with wide eyes. "Now that is some fancy shit, you have got to tell me where I can get one of those." He said, with a laugh.

"One of what? The car or Jarvis?" I said, with a chuckle. "I'll take both, and how about the woman that owns them?" He said, and we locked eyes. I hid the expression I wanted to show due to my repulsive thoughts regarding him. This mother fucker was married, and a fucking leech who hurt women. How dare he talk to me like that. Keep your damn cool, Snow. Jesus fuck, I thought.

“Lunch first, and then we can play." I said, shooting him a small wink. This better not take that fucking long. I needed to kill him and get back on the road. The Vanderwood twins were waiting, even if they didn't know it yet.

I ordered a salad and he ordered a burger. He made small talk, asking me about my life, where I was from, and my family. I made up lies because I knew he would never see me again, so why not? When I asked him the same questions he completely lied to me. I had already heard his thoughts, and he definitely was lying to me. Seems that lying was his forte.

"How about we get out of here?" I said seductively and reached for his hand lying mine on top of his softly. His thoughts went straight to sex, then draining me of all my blood. Perfect, that's exactly what I was hoping for.

Like I said, lust or bloodlust, these leeches only have two track minds.

“Clark, It’s Damien. I’m going to need one last favor.” I said. “Of course, Damien, what is it?” He asked. I have 2 bodies I’m going to need you to pick up. Funeral arrangements have already been specified in the document I will leave for you. As always, money is no issue and I trust that you will charge me for all of it.” He said. “Of course, sir. I can have the coroner there in a half hour.” He replied. “Thank you, Clark. Truly, thank you, my friend...” I said, before hanging up the phone. I looked at Jericho and nodded. He nodded back to me. I walked over to Max’s body and pulled Snow’s knife from Max’s chest. I walked over to Jericho while Xavier grieved over my gifted mate. “Do not feed from him, he needs to stay alive. Snow would kill us both if she ever found out that something bad happened to him. You have my will, you have everything you need. Give this to Clark when he arrives. It has the instructions I have specified. Burn this fucking place to the ground once Clark and th

And who just literally gave up her physical life for me, was gone. My thoughts were a fucking wreck. I have no idea how long I held her before I laid her on the bed, or what was left of it. That's when I noticed Max across the room. He was clearly dead, Snow’s knife protruded from his chest. I knew that was what killed him, even though I doubt he could have survived the blast either way. I looked back down at the body of the only woman I had ever truly loved and smiled through my tears. “I’m so proud of you. Giving up the ultimate sacrifice to accomplish your goals. So fucking proud.” I said, moving a piece of her hair from the blood that stained her face. I tucked it behind her ear softly. Even in death she was so fucking beautiful. My chest ached physically at her loss. Every bone in my body was in agony. Like they knew we were missing our other half. The strange thing was the bond seemed to still be in place, It was just unreachable and very very faint. I called Jericho and told

Xavier ignored us both and kept trying to find a way around the barrier. It was no use, I couldn’t even penetrate it so there was no way an enhanced Human could either. I could still feel Snow, but it was pointless trying to get inside. I sent Xavier home after a few hours. He was reluctant but I had to keep coaching Jericho down, and helping him to understand his Vampire tendencies. He was trying to take a bite out of Xavier more times than I wanted to admit… He was going to struggle with this, just like I did. Which was normal. Snow, on the other hand, was a unicorn. She barely struggled and was able to keep her composure easily. It was her powers that she struggled with and I knew this. I wanted to know what the hell Max was doing to her to cause me to not be able to feel the gifted mate bond anymore. Jericho needed sleep and even though I didn't plan to sleep, I knew I needed to, otherwise tomorrow was going to be a lot harder. It was just too hard to sleep with my gifted mate i

“Cortana, call Xavier.” I said. I knew I had just called him and he probably wasn't even there yet, but I had to try. “What?” He snarled, clearly annoyed by me. But I didn’t care. “Something happened, I can't reach Snow through our bond anymore. I can feel her life force, but I can’t feel her emotions.” I said, trying to hide the panic in my voice.I told her I wouldn’t hover, I wouldn’t bother her and let her handle things. I knew she was independent and wanted to be the savior. I knew… But I was trying not to lose my mind. Plus, Jericho couldn’t wake up alone. That would spell disaster. “I just arrived but I can't get past the front doors. There is some sort of forcefield, I don’t know. Some sort of magic here. Whatever it is, it’s preventing anyone from going in or out.” He replied. “Fuck. Ok, keep an eye on it, and if anyone comes in or out, I need to know. I’ll be there as soon as Jericho finishes his transition.” I said, and hung up the phone. I was half tempted to take Jericho

(Damien)I had a terrible feeling as I watched Snow leave my house to meet with Max. Something inside just nagged at me not to let her go. Had I known what the next 72 hours was going to bring, I would have listened. Rarely does my gut instinct send me astray. This was a fact. I started making preparations immediately after her departure. “Jericho, you still here?” I called out from the hallway. He poked his head out of his room a few doors down. “What’s up boss?” He said. “It’s time.” I replied, and I watched him stiffen and pull his head back into the doorway, coming out a second later without his equipment. He walked up to me and nodded. “I’m ready.” He said. I ushered him into my room and over to my desk while I rifled through papers until I found the will. My last will and testament. The second Snow became a Vampire I had a feeling that something terrible was going to happen to her. She just had too much power… I took Jericho aside and made him promise me that he would be my so

“I don’t want it! I don’t want you!” I snarled. “What is it about him? What the fuck is it that has you so fucking entranced?” Max snarled, releasing me from his grip. I stumbled back, getting as far away from him as I could. “Who? Who are you talking about?” I demanded. I was contemplating running, but my curiosity got the best of me. Max was pacing in the room, clearly stressed out. I knew I was trapped, it didn’t matter where I went or what I did, I was stuck in whatever hallucination Max decided to throw at me. There was no point trying to escape. Max suddenly turned towards me and his eyes were full of rage. “You could have had everything with me. You could have had more than you ever hoped for, more than you ever dreamt of. I would have kept you safe. I would have loved you, and protected you. I would have given you anything in this fucking world… All you had to do was say yes. All you had to do was fucking choose me.” He snarled. I took a step back, towards the door as he inc

We got back to the suite and Max immediately turned his gaze to me. I knew exactly what he was thinking. I snickered to myself at the smile creeping on his lips. How did I get so fucking lucky? He was such a damn catch. Way out of my league. “I know what you’re thinking, doll. But… We need food.” He said, putting his finger to my lips. “I’ve got something you can eat.” I said, with a smirk. Within seconds he had me pinned up against the wall next to the closet and smashed his lips into mine. I knew that would get him. At this rate we would never eat, or leave this room. I decided to play hard to get, switch things up a little. I snaked out of his grasp and took off running across the room. I smirked when I heard Max’s growl at my escape. I could feel his feet padding on the floor behind me. I felt like he was letting me get a head start, I knew he was much faster than I was. I turned as I got close to the bathroom just in time for Max to tumble into me, tackling me causing us to bot

He pulled away first. “No more, I have already had a hard enough time keeping my dick in my pants, let’s not make it public, doll.” He purred. I just laughed. “Ok, ok.” I said, with my hands up in defeat. “Let’s just make it through the conference, and then you can have me the rest of the entire day if you choose.” Max said. “Deal.” I replied. He grabbed my hand as we headed out of the suite and to the elevator. His thoughts were a mess of me naked, the conference, the merge. He was nervous but also more excited than he had ever been. The company was about to take off, and the shareholders would benefit from buying stocks right about now. I let my mates' thoughts calm my nerves as we headed past the front desk. “Oh dear, you look so much better this morning!” She said. I thanked her and waved, catching Max’s eye as we went outside. “What was that about?” He asked. “Oh I don’t know, something about looking like I was crying last night. I’m not sure.” I said. He chuckled. “If you wer

The elevator opened and I headed towards the end of the hall. I pushed open the doors to Max’s suite and walked inside, taking my heels off and setting them by the door. Max walked out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel and we locked eyes. “Ah, Snow. you’re back sooner than I expected.” Max purred. “And you’re a hell of a lot less clothed than I expected.” I said with a smirk, letting my eyes roam his nearly naked form. His rippling muscles cascaded down his chest and arms. His towel hung low, accentuating the deep V that was partially hidden. “I think you forget that I am the one who has won the grand prize here.” Max purred, as he sauntered towards me. I met him halfway as our lips collided, sending lightning and cool fire dancing between us. Max pulled away and leaned his forehead against mine. “I love you, Snow. I love you so fucking much.” He said. “I love you too, Max. You know I do.” I replied. He pulled away the rest of the way and looked at me. I could see the complete and
