Two weeks living in Madonie. Shudder, living in that packhouse. It’s nothing personal against the pack or the villa. Even after three deep cleans of every room, I can still smell the lingering odor of that piece of shit.
“Nicolao…” I called out to our head butler.
I was hurrying out of the elevator when I spotted him. We are supposed to be leaving for Incubi for tomorrow’s Luna ceremony.
“Yes, Alpha?” Nicolao stopped what he was doing to bow his head, keep his head down.
I sighed because Icky boy did a number on these people. They are all scared of me and barely make eye contact hell, they barely look up when I’m around. Stupid bastard wishes I could revive him just to kill him again.
“I know it’s a lot to ask. Especially as your staff has done a great job already. But I’m still picking up lingering scents of him. And I get that he lived here his whole life, so it might be impossible.” I sighed.
“You wish for another deep clean o
New chapters are posted Monday-Saturday. Today feels like a double André kind of day.
I stopped by the local bank, where I knew all the D’Amore valuables were stored in a vault. I smiled as I stepped inside and looked around. Obviously, there is money and things like that. But what I locked in on was the wall of glass cases of jewelry. Crista needed something stunning to match her mamma’s gown. Katrina had already taken out the Luna tiara and jewels as that case was empty. I slowly looked over all the pieces wanting just the right set. I gasped as I found the perfect set. A gold tiara with diamonds paired with dangly floral earrings and necklace set. “Bisnonna Katrina, you had the best taste.” I grinned as I unlocked the case, carefully removing the items to bring with me to the town hall. With a jewelry case and the garment bag in tow, I headed for the elevators to put them safely in Crista’s office for tonight. I grinned as the doors opened and revealed my mate holding a folder of papers. “Going up?” I smirked, eyeing him like
“Why do you get this whole floor to yourself for your office while we are stuck downstairs?” Alexander questioned as he wandered around André’s office. “Because I’m Alpha and this has the best light and my own terrace.” André scoffed as he dramatically sprawled across the sofa to rest his head on my lap. ‘It’s like he doesn’t know me at all.’ André snickered in our link. I sighed, shaking my head. André had taken all the furniture out of the space to make his own choices. The term Alison used when he did a video tour for my sister-in-laws was Glam. You’d not know this was supposed to be an office outside of the mirror with metallic silver borders and tapered legs, the writing desk centered in front of a row of windows. It’s like that one little area was reserved for the office. He has the mirror desk, a blue velvet tufted back desk chair, two blue silver velvet tufted lounge chairs, and a couple of bookcases for storage anchored by an ab
I will give Darren credit. He sure knows how to motivate me. I don’t think I ever jumped to deal with paperwork faster than him, hinting at a reward for getting my work done. One extra task I gave myself was having a crew go over to the Furlan villa in the capital and make sure it was clean from top to bottom. I want it to look perfect before Amelia and Stephen arrive. I’d seen how bad the place looked. People can be so insensitive. I understand that they don’t like Ivan because they see it as he sided with Icky Iggy. But Amelia is entirely blameless, a sweet girl treated unkindly by too many and lost her parents traumatically. I want her to feel welcome and happy coming back to Madonie. None of this bullying shit is going to fly. Darren made his stance on being protective clear. But anyone who talks smack about my crew will deal with me first. With the house covered, I decided to do one more thing to welcome Amelia home. The aforementioned “one
I was not surprised that my brother pulled shit on the flight. I’m also not surprised mom guilted them with fake tears into promising to behave. Sadly, it isn’t the first time it won’t be the last. My brothers just never learn. We did a quick tour around the villa and showed them to their rooms before Stephen and Amelia arrived, and we had to excuse ourselves to meet with the other ranked wolves. Of course, we were having the meeting in André’s office as it had the most space. “Isn’t this nice? All the ranked wolves together at last.” André smiled as he took a seat next to me on the sofa. “Why don’t we get to business?” I suggested. “We all still have to get ready.” I added. “Okay. So obviously, we all know each other now. And we all know what will be expected during our oaths. Agreeing to protect the pack and pledging to serve as my, insert rank here, yadda yadda.” André shrugged. I shook my head at his casual recap on a blood oath. “Th
I am genuinely a devious mastermind. And hopefully, after spending an evening in sequins, my darling brother-in-laws will learn a lesson. Do not upset my new mamma. Okay, so their upsetting Deb with their pranks on the flight isn’t the only reason I had Nicolao swap out the suits in their rooms while giving them the tour of the pack villa. Azriel is the reason my mate doesn’t like glitter. And Goddess knows all the various times they’ve done something to upset, embarrass, or traumatize my sweet mate. Now they’ve been put on notice. And even if they don’t like their suits, they look hot. I’m allowed to say that. Especially about Colby, he’s my mate’s identical twin, after all. Given how good they look in sequins, it tells me how much better Darren would look. Darren hasn’t complained, yet, about the clothes I pick for him. So, of course, I wouldn’t do that to him. I don’t want to give him a reason to start. So I’ll continue picking wh
While Gildo, Amelia, and Stephen went to the villa and the party, Alexander, André, and I turned down the path to the building just out of view of the villa hiding behind trees. The seemingly ordinal building looked more like a large shed for gardening equipment, but it was a different story inside it. Inside was a security office with three security officers on staff that had to buzz us in. Our clothes from the ceremony were hanging neatly on the wall for us. We quickly changed before turning to the security staff. “Alpha, your sister and father are awaiting you in the lower level.” One of the males bowed his head as he informed us. “Thank you. We shouldn’t take long.” André nodded, leading the way to the elevator, entering a code. “Who’d have thought Madonie would
I put on a good facade for the party. I’m Alpha now, and I can’t let my pack now something was bothering me like this. I certainly can’t let Lando know. That guy had to be lying. Like Katrina said, he doesn’t look a thing like Lando. Lando is smiles and sunshine with the softest mop of curls ever. But that dick was Sleaze with a capital S with greasy slicked back straight hair. I have to trust Darren. He promised that Lando wasn’t going anywhere. And if there is one thing everyone knows about Darren, he is not a liar or the sort to make hollow promises. As the party slowly ended, all the little ones, Lando included, were taken to their rooms here in the villa. With everyone not staying here gone, I couldn’t help it. I went to the room Lando was using. I sighed, standing in the doorway watching him sleeping peacefully. The kid was totally worn out from running around the party and having a great time with Delilah, Gina, and Suzie.
The last few months have been a whirlwind in Madonie. Our villa’s construction is moving along very fast. A lot faster than I thought it would. But I suppose when everything is being handled within the pack, things get done quicker. Before we boarded our flight to Bloodmoon, our contractor told us we should be able to move in not long after we return. That, of course, made André and Lando happy. While neither has any dislike for the pack villa, André has talked about having our own family home enough that Lando is excited to have a home again that will be just for his family. I think part of Lando’s reasoning is that we’ve adopted him, so he’d like to not live in the pack villa with the other orphans still waiting to either be claimed by family or adopted by new families. And I can’t fault him for that. The kids started treating him differently after we officially adopted him. He went from being what they called the favored to now the Pr
